This model IS built on a freightliner passive steer chassis. freightliner (fccc) has had a problem with their production mounting the tag axle off center with poor alignment for the tag and/or steer axles. this problem was known by fccc since its early production(4/1/2015). a report by fccc engineer, eric panceroff, was published on newmar corps warranty site. I had written a letter to fccc and daimler trucking (dtna), the parent company for fccc, raising concern over the continued production of this defective chassis. since my letter, fccc has removed their own engineer's report and IS not making any effort to advise their customer of this very potentially serious defect. there are many others who have this problem and are not aware. the poor alignment will cause tire wear and eventually tire blowouts. just today, I discovered the side wall on the left front of my unit IS starting to separate from the tire surface. this IS after six attempts on alignment and 8 tires replaced sofar. on a 45 ft long rv with more than 40,000 pound weight, a tire failure can potentially cause a serious accident. this IS a serious time bomb for many rv owners who unknowingly driving their units with this potential defect. this fccc attempt to hide the problem can potentially cause serious harm to innocent people who may end up in a serious accident due to negligence on part of fccc and dtna.

- 10144303Daimler Trucks North America, LLC has decided that a defect relating to motor vehicle safety exists in specific motorhomes built on Freightliner Chassis (NHTSA 18V 353). In response, Newmar Corporation is releasing recall NHTSA 18V 505 and TC # 2018-401. Issue: On certain motorhomes equipped with air disc brakes, the brake caliper mounting bolts may be incorrectly torqued. The caliper bolts may loosen, which may lead to the caliper detaching. Insufficiently torqued fasteners may not provide adequate clamping force between the brake caliper and brake anchor plate, potentially resulting in reduced brake effectiveness. This scenario would result in greater stopping distances, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property.

- 10129952Newmar Corporation has decided that a defect relating to motor vehicle safety exists in specific motorhomes built on Freightliner Chassis. - 10127601Newmar has decided to incorporate a system reset switch for coaches equipped with HWH hydraulic entrance steps. The switch has been added to the front overhead cabinet during production on later 2018 models. If the HWH system fails to operate the pump assembly when using the leveling system touchpad, slideout switches, or the entrance step, this reset switch will provide the coach owner with a more convenient location for resetting the HWH system. This will eliminate the need to pull the F-11 fuse or exit the coach to turn off the chassis disconnect in the event of a system lockout. Issue: In the event of a step failure, the person(s) inside the coach would have a large gap between the door threshold and the ground. The person(s) may have to exit via the large gap or the emergency exit door to get out of the coach.
- 10127600Daimler Trucks North America LLC, on behalf of its wholly-owned subsidiary, Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation, has issued field service campaign SF546AB. In response, Newmar is publishing PIB 495. In addition, some of these vehicles also require an air line retrofit.
- 10127599Newmar has decided to install an override switch for the HWH step to provide a way to operate the step from inside the coach in the event of a sensor or door switch failure. In the event of a step failure, the person(s) inside the coach would have a large gap between the door threshold and the ground. The person(s) may have to exit via the large gap or the emergency exit door to get out of the coach.
- 10121941If the coach's HWH leveling system has intermittent issues when operating, check for corrosion or loose mounting bolts. Torque the mounting bolts (if needed) to 30 ft. pounds. A ground cable may also be installed to improve the overall grounding of the HWH pump assembly.
