4 recalls name the 2025 Nissan Kicks. Newest first.
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2025-2026 Kicks vehicles. A software error in the combination meter may cause the screen display to go partially or fully blank. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 101, "Control and Displays."
A partial or blank screen display will not show critical safety information such as vehicle speed and warning lights, increasing the risk of a crash.
Dealers will resume the software reprogramming of the combination meter software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 6, 2026. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 800-647-7261. Nissan's number for this recall is PMA66. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on May 22, 2026.
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2025 Frontier and Kicks vehicles. The center information display unit may display a blank screen when shifted into reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."
A rearview image that does not display can reduce the driver's view of what is behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Dealers will update the software on the vehicle’s center information display, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 10, 2025. The manufacturer numbers for this recall are PD152 and PMA48.
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2025 Kicks vehicles. The certification label may have been printed with the incorrect Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) and Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) values, which can result in the vehicle being overloaded. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of 49 CFR Part 567…
An overloaded vehicle can increase the risk of a crash. Vehicles with incorrect wheel and tire information may lead to tires that are inflated improperly, which can also increase the risk of a crash.
Dealers will install new labels, free of charge. Additionally, dealers will mail replacement labels to owners. Owner notification letters were mailed May 27, 2025. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 800-647-7261. Nissan's numbers for this recall are PD136 and PMA47.

As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 114, "Theft Protection and Rollaway…
When the vehicle is not in "Park" and the ignition is shut off, the vehicle could move unexpectedly, increasing the risk of a vehicle rollaway and crash.
Dealers will reconfigure the body control module (BCM) to activate the "Shift-to-Park" warning, free of charge. Some owner notification letters were mailed January 29, 2025. The remaining owner notification letters will be mailed at a future date, anticipated, May 7, 2025. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's number for this recall is PMA42.
On the morning of October 19 at approximately 6:16 AM, I was driving the vehicle to my sister's home roughly 15 miles away. About 5 miles into the journey, without any other vehicles around or any external impact, I heard a loud boom. Upon pulling over to inspect the car, I discovered that the rear windshield had spontaneously shattered and exploded, held in place entirely by the window tint. Based on the environmental conditions and vehicle operation at the time, I believe this failure was caused by thermal stress. The outside temperature was 52 degrees, and I had the rear defroster activated; the cold glass combined with the heat from the defroster caused severe thermal shock, leading the glass to stress and shatter. Spontaneous breakage due to thermal stress or manufacturing defects in tempered glass is a known issue and should be covered under the vehicle's warranty. I contacted my dealership to report this dangerous manufacturer defect. I was informed that the manager would be notified and would follow up with me promptly. Unfortunately, that callback never occurred. Because the dealership failed to respond, I had to arrange for the glass replacement independently through my insurance to ensure the vehicle was safe to drive.
The stereo randomly spikes to 100 and says alarm interrupt. It gets VERY loud and is very startling which is scary when driving. It has almost caused a wreck multiple times.
After a refuel, I noticed the gas was being auto stopped before what I know to be full based on length of time pumping and cost. After driving several days the gas meter did not lose notches despite the mileage showing a decrease in available miles. I am concerned I will be driving and run out of gas at a dangerous time due to not being able to read an accurate fuel level. I took the vehicle to Orr Nissan west in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where they confirmed the discrepancy and they stated this is an issue they have being seeing nationwide.
The center high-mounted brake light flashes/pulses approximately three times before becoming a steady light. this is not a single momentary flicker. The light intentionally flashes/pules approximately three times at the initial application of the brakes and then changes to a steady-burning condition. The vehicle was purchased from a Nissan/Wyler dealership on October 28, 2024. I am concerned that the initial flashing/pulsing operation of the required center high-mounted stop lamp may not comply with the steady-burning requirements applicable to stop lamps under Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No.108 My Retail Purchase Agreement contains a separate $794.00 charge identified as "Tephc Detail Wyler Certified Plus." I am currently attempting to determine whether the flashing/pulsing brake-light function is part of the vehicle's original Nissan Equipment or whether an aftermrket device, module, wiring modification, programming change,or other equipment was installed or activated by the dealership. NHTSA has previously addressed devices that cause center high-mounted stop lamps to flash. In NHTSA interpretation documents concerning flashing stop-lamp devices. I understand that NHTSA's prior interpretations do not by themselves establish that my particular vehicle is noncompliant. I am providing this information so that NHTSA can make its own determination.
Was driving at low speed after entering a parking lot and the engine quit. When I attempted to restart the starter would not engage. The power widows still functioned. A subsequent check of the battery indicated it is fully charged. Had this occurred at Highway speed it could have been dangerous situation since the power brakes and power steering were not functional.
Trim from passenger rear side flew off while driving today.
Driving on a highway when rear differential and drive shaft broke loose from vehicle while driving at 65 mph. Right rear wheel went over real diff. causing the rear end of vehicle to come off the pavement. Fortunately was able to get car under control before it flipped. There was no warning signs prior. We were violently lurched and still are feeling residual effects from that incident.
On August 5, 2026, an authorized Nissan dealer performed safety recall PMA66 / NHTSA 26V-331 on my 2025 Nissan Kicks SR. The vehicle’s combination meter/instrument cluster had been functioning normally before the recall. During the recall software update, the programming failed and the original combination meter became unrecoverable. After consultation with Nissan Techline, Nissan authorized replacement of the combination meter. The replacement meter was installed and the vehicle was returned on August 11, 2026. Immediately afterward, several new problems were discovered that did not exist before the recall repair: vehicle speed is displayed in km/h instead of MPH even though U.S./miles units are selected; the TPMS/tire-pressure information screen is missing; the lane-assistance/driver-assistance information screen is missing; and Traffic Sign Recognition no longer displays detected speed-limit signs. Additional affected functions may not yet have been identified. These conditions were reported to the dealer and Nissan Consumer Affairs. Nissan Consumer Affairs advised on August 21 that the recall/remedy is under review, that there is currently no approved repair procedure and no estimated timeline, and that it could neither confirm nor deny whether the vehicle is safe to drive. The vehicle is available for inspection. No crash, fire, injury, or death has occurred. I am reporting this because a safety-recall repair failed, the Nissan-authorized replacement introduced new incorrect or missing safety-related display functions, and Nissan currently has no approved procedure to restore the vehicle
I received a recall notice on my 2025 Nissan Kicks. I took my vehicle to the dealer where I purchased it to get the recall repaired on 8/7/2026. The repair was quoted to be completed within 2 hours. After 5 hours the repairs were not completed and my vehicle is inoperable. I was provided a loaner car to use while my vehicle is there. I have kept in contact with the manufacturer (called on 8/14/26) and the dealer over the last two weeks. I have not been provided much information other than my car is inoperable and that there are several other Nissan Kicks that are in the same condition. I was told by the Nissan Company that their engineers will have to come up with a fix and that I need to contact the dealer for further information. I have been over two weeks without my vehicle and still have no answers. My car was working fine when it was taken in for the recall repaired, now my vehicle is at the dealership and not running at all.

My family and I departed the dealership around 7:27 PM with our 2025 Nissan Kicks that only had 4,500 miles on it. My step son and I were driving the new car home. We got maybe a mile from our house and I heard a small pop and started smelling gas really bad. Once we pulled onto our road I heard another pop, all of the lights came on the dash and a bunch of white smoke came from the hood of the car. I put the car in park and turned the engine off and got me and my step son out to the car. We went into the field next to the car and as soon as we crossed the road, there were flames coming out of the hood.
On 05.28.2026 my car veered sporadically to the right causing my tire to hit the curb as I was going under a viaduct with a high curb I lost my hub cap and damaged my rim slightly. Now my wheel is at a constant angle to the left, and veers sporadically left and right. After being in a reddit forum and seeing other people had this problem and it should be covered under warranty. However, I was told I would still have to pay for an alignment because its needed after a a bushing is replaced. If the bushing was defective and caused my wheel alignment to be off then why do I have to pay? I dont mind... I'm just curious
The contact owns a 2025 Nissan Kick. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V188000 (Equipment) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer confirmed that the remedy parts were not yet available. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact had not experienced a failure.
Upon inspection by a certified technician, the windshield was found to have a stress crack. The repair evaluation confirmed there is no visible point of strike or impact from road debris. Although similar issues are commonly reported, the manufacturer denied knowledge of any widespread problem and refused to cover the repair costs. Previous management of this concern was negligent in addressing the defect. I have videos, photos of the damage, and a copy of the repair receipt available as evidence.
About 15 minutes after starting car and about 5 miles, I was making a right turn from a stop sign. Made almost a complete turn and the car stopped moving. Engine revved from depressing accelerator and car did not move (except for backwards due to being on an incline). Applied the brakes. Looked to make sure I was in gear and I was. Display said D for drive and gear selector was in D. For about after 10 seconds of wondering what was happening, the transmission engaged and I was able to continue. Called Nissan and was told as long as it's driving now, they will look at it at my next service (10,000 m).

On or about 01/13/2025 my windshield cracked spontaneously during normal highway driving. As this is a brand new vehicle I find that Nissan needs to investigate the quality control of their windshield installation for the 2025 Kicks models. I have found many people online via facebook or reddit who have made similar complaints regarding their brand new 2025 Kicks windshield cracking within the last 3 months. As well as reports from Nissan's parts centers and Safelite regarding a delay in replacement windshields for this specific car due to increased demand. There were no warnings or symptoms of the problem prior.

The bumper had a large dent, and the passenger side light assembly was shattered. The contact stated that the children were not injured. The contact had the vehicle towed to a local dealer. The dealer had not diagnosed the vehicle and had the vehicle taken to a collision repair center. The vehicle was not repaired due to parts being on back order. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V969000 (Electrical System). The contact had discussed the recall with the dealer and the manufacturer and was advised that her VIN was not part of the recall selection. The failure mileage was approximately 50.
