  Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Nissan Z vehicles. The connectors for the right-side pedestrian detection sensors may be reversed in the front bumper harness, which can prevent the pop-up engine hood from activating as intended.

  A pop-up engine hood that does not activate in a pedestrian crash can increase the risk of injury.

  Remedy

  Dealers will replace the front bumper harness, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 11, 2024. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's number for this recall is R24B6.

  Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Nissan Z vehicles. The fasteners in the left-side front bumper reinforcement clip may loosen, which can prevent the pop-up engine hood from activating.

  Risk

  A pop-up engine hood that does not activate and raise the rear end of the hood in a frontal pedestrian crash, can increase the risk of injury.

  Remedy

  Dealers will tighten the fasteners, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 7, 2023. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's number for this recall is R23C8.

  The contact owns a 2023 Nissan Z. The contact stated that while her son was driving at an undisclosed speed, upon coming to an abrupt stop, the hood suddenly popped open; obstructing the driver's view, prompting him to pull over to the shoulder of the roadway. The message "Collision Detected -…

  The contact owns a 2023 Nissan Z. The contact stated that while her son was driving at an undisclosed speed, upon coming to an abrupt stop, the hood suddenly popped open; obstructing the driver's view, prompting him to pull over to the shoulder of the roadway. The message "Collision Detected - Pop-up Activators Deployed" was displayed. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the active-hood pop-up pyro actuators. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V798000 (Structure, Electrical System); but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 7,000.

SERVICE INFORMATION The APPLIED VEHICLES that come equipped with a factory installed SOS switch, located near the overhead map lamp, also come equipped with a wireless communication device called a Telematics Communication Unit (TCU). With an active NissanConnect Services subscription, the TCU communicates with the Nissan Data Center to provide various security and convenience services. CONSULT has been updated to allow DTC B2E01-96 for Internal battery to be cleared in the TCU. If DTC B2E01-96 is Current/Active in the TCU, and no additional Current/Active DTCs are present in the TCU, perform the SERVICE PROCEDURE starting on page 2.

• 1023906012 VOLT BATTERY TESTING FOR IN-SERVICE VEHICLES SERVICE INFORMATION The following Service Information lists NNA procedural recommendations for establishing good connections while performing 12V battery testing. These recommendations are expected to promote uniformity during the connection process, therefore reducing the number of incorrect Test with DCA and Replace results. HINT: If 12 volt batteries are allowed to discharge for a prolonged period of time, battery life may be drastically reduced. This condition may lead to premature battery replacement and customer dissatisfaction. • 10237583PAINT CONTAMINATION SERVICE INFORMATION If it is necessary to remove embedded contamination from surfaces of the vehicle that are not covered by the PGF, and the contamination cannot be removed during a standard car wash, use the referenced equipment and materials and follow the SERVICE PROCEDURE starting below. SERVICE PROCEDURE 1. Prepare the vehicle. a. Thoroughly rinse the vehicle, preferably in a shady area, to remove all surface dirt and/or dust. o If the vehicle is extremely dirty, wash the vehicle with soap and water consistent with Nissan car wash procedures. b. Ensure the painted surfaces are dry, cool to the touch, and completely free of dust and water spots, before moving to step 2 on page 2. IMPORTANT: If necessary, use a clay bar on surfaces with contamination to remove hard contaminants and prevent scratching those surfaces while buffing.
