The contact's mother owns a 1989 N/A Pontiac Firebird. The contact was informed that the VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 90V105000 (Seat Belts) during a State Inspection; however, the part to do the recall repair was not available. The local dealer and several other dealers were contacted and informed the contact that the recall part had been discontinued. The contact had not experienced the failure stated in the recall. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. Additionally, the contact stated that the front driver's side seat belt failed to retract as needed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 44,627.

While on vacation, the right rear (goodyear dunlop G/T qualifier p235/55r 16 96T) tire on my 2000 pontiac firebird coupe lost its tread and blew nearly killing myself and my fiancee'. This happened near beaver, utah on I-70. I only had approximately 10000 miles on the tires. They were warranted for 70000 miles. the automotive technician informed me that the rest of my tires were dangerous. the tires were cracking along the edge of the tread and across the tread. He stated the other tires would end up loosing their tread too. also, he informed me that the tires were considerably older than what I thought. He showed me by the dates stamped on the tires. discount tire told me the tires were new when I bought them. I had to buy 4 new tires at a cost of $603.88 in beaver, utah.. our lives were worth more than the cost of tires. upon my return to springfield, I proceeded to discount tire to talk to the manager. I told him what happened and showed him the damage to my vehicle. he informed me that he would have to forward the complaint to goodyear because it was the tire company, not their fault. I disagreed since they sold me old tires, but he said that IS how they handle claims. I received a claim form from goodyear tire & rubber company. I filled it out, got two estimates of $1125.65 and $1485.97 for repairs to my vehicle, and sent it back to them on august 10TH, 2015 for processing. I called today, september 2ND, 2015 to find out the progress of my claim. I was informed that they couldn't do any thing for me since the station in beaver no longer had the defective tires and they needed them to asses the tire failure. I was told that I should have brought the tires back with me. tell me how I was to bring 4 tires along with my luggage back in a firebird.

Tl*the contact owns a 2000 pontiac firebird. the vehicle has kumho tires, size p23555r16 (na). the contact stated that the tires were defective and would bounce. he noticed that the two sets of four tires he received were both defective. the tires also caused the vehicle to vibrate. the tire company replaced the first four tires and, after another failure, replaced them with another set of four kumho tires. the replacement tires also failed. the contact refused to take the tire brand and insisted on another tire manufacturer. the contact did not have the vin or dot number at the time of the complaint. the current and failure mileages were approximately 27,000.

I have a 2000 pontiac firebird. At least once a month I have to change either a parking light or a fog light because it has burnt out. One of my fog lights IS completely ruined and I have to purchase a whole new piece, because it was melted. I have noticed when passing other cars like mine, 9 times out of 10 they have a light out in the front. Thank you. *Jb

I have had several defects on my car and I have had it just over 4 years and about 62,000 miles. 1.) the metal at the end of the driver's sunvisor metal shaft sheared and would no long hold assembly together. almost caused car wreck and I was blinded by the sunlight coming around the corner. reached up to pull down the visor and it fell into my lap. car's age ~ 3 yrs old. a couple of months later the passenger sunvisor did the same. dealership would do nothing but charge &80 for one new visor. 2. during vehicle warranty I had to take my car in repeatedly for a headlight that would not operate. still experiencing intermitten operations. 3. during vehivle warranty had to have the alternator replaced for the "loss of power" complant many have experienced. seemed to fix the issue. 4. when the car was less than 3 years old but out of warranty I had the plastic piece that IS on the seat belt buckle that sinches the seat belt break off. I can no longer sinch my seatbelt to a safe postion. I addressed with gm after dealership told me that they could order a new seatbelt. gm does not consider this a safety issue. I don't feel safe in the vehicle. 5. first of the latest issues at 62,000 miles radio has stopped operating in the cd player mode. 6. second one IS that the clutch (manual transmission) IS going out which IS causing the ar to "slip/jump" while drivign down the highway. estimated cost to repair IS ~$650.*ak

Headlights and dash lights flicker, complete electrical failure on 2 occasions, headlights and heater fan went off, dont know if tail lights go out. in for service on 3 occasions. cant correct problem. brakes have groaned, squealed and have a clicking noise from the rear. in for service 3 times. they say they cant recreate problem but anyone in the car has heard the problem except the dealer.
