  My door IS falling off from the frame of the car. No accidents to the car. The window has had numerous problems. The gm body shop said they just had this same problem last week with another firebird. Gm has offered to pay 15% of the $982.00. I have found out that the doors are glued on all firebirds. I feel this IS a major defect from the manufacturer. The problem has not been fixed. *nm

  Braking system failed while attempting to stop at 40-45 mph. While braking, the pedal went to the floor and warning lights were noticed.   Braking system failed while attempting to stop at 40-45 mph. While braking, the pedal went to the floor and warning lights were noticed. This failure led to a 2 vehicle accident where 1 person was possibly injured. The emergency brake was needed to slow the car, though the spin out as a result of the accident ultimately stopped the vehicle. After the incident, the ABS was inoperable tcs off??, and the brake warnings were lit and remained lit. The cause of the failure at this point IS unknown and a determination should be made later in the week. *jb

  Pontiac, montana 2001, it seems like the sliding door behind the driver's door, IS not well sealed when it closes, you can feel air oming thru the hole, I've never been in a accident plus I am ver careful when it comes to dealing with that door, there has never been a time when someone opened the door abruptly

  My car IS using approximately 1 to 1.25 quarts of oil every 3000 miles with only 30,000 miles on the car. The dealer claims this IS within "acceptable" tolerances. I disagree.

  Consumer states during the month of august was raining a lot in tx. Trunk got water inside like a swimming pool. Causing damage to back seat and floor. Dealer and manufacturer didn't help. Please provide further information. ts

  While the vehicle was parked in the garage it caught on fire, the fire department stated the fire originated in the engine compartment on the driver's side near the breaker boxes and fuel injectors, the vehicle was deystroyed.*jb

This corrosion may be red in appearance (rust) if the component is steel, forged iron or cast iron. This corrosion may also be grey or white in color if the component is constructed of an aluminum alloy.

GM does not endorse any repairs that involve welding, bending, straightening o re-machining. Only cosmetic refinishing of the wheel's coatings, using recommended procedures, is allowed. Evaluating Damage In evaluating damage, it is the GM Dealer's responsibility to inspect the wheel for corrosion, scrapes, gouges, etc. The Dealer must insure that such damage is not deeper than what can be sanded or polished off. The wheel must be inspected for cracks. If cracks are found, discard the wheel. Any wheels with bent rim flanges must not be repaired or refinished. Wheels that have been refinished by an outside company must be returned to the same vehicle. The Dealer must record the wheel ID stamp or the cast date on the wheel in order to assure this requirement. Refer to Refinisher's Responsibility Outside Company later in this bulletin.

However, your system could not be updated remotely. As a result, some of your OnStar system functions may not be working as expected." The customer is further instructed in this letter to "Please contact your dealer or any dealer near you as soon as possible to schedule an appointment for this no-cost software update. Your dealer will reprogram your OnStar module with an update. This is for vehicles that have previously received the Canada upgrade as described in Service Bulletin #15-08-44-001F."

Technician will need to determine what type of call the customer IS having that IS unwanted. The vehicle may receive an incoming call just like any other phone. Typically the customer will hear the phone ringing in the vehicle. This scenario also includes incoming bluetooth calls. One type of unwanted call can be made if the key pad IS faulty the onstar system will try to make a blue button call for shorted voltage in the circuits. The onstar module could have an internal fault and produce a phone unavailable audio message also it may have a diagnostic trouble code u1500 or b1000. Refer to diagnostics for the diagnostic trouble code making sure to follow any applicable bulletins or preliminary information sheets. A greadyh or gonstar readyh audio message heard while driving. In some cases it has been found that the customer IS inadvertently pressing the push to talk button on the steering wheel controls. On rare occasions, other issues in the steering column or steering wheel control system may induce this concern.
