Risk
If the air dryer separates from the base, the cartridge can separate sufficiently enough to cause personal injury or property damage.
Remedy
Dealers will equip air systems with a pressure relief valve to be located between the compressor and the air dryer. This pressure relief valve IS intended to vent if excessive pressure develops in the air dryer.

While driving and when applying brakes calipers locked up and did not release. calipers will crack due to excess heat when applying brakes if they do release. Also, brakes lining wear out excessively due to cracks in the rotors. contacted dealer. dealer was willing to match 1/2 of the parts cost. *ak
