Suzuki Motor of America, Inc. (Suzuki) is recalling certain 2010-2013 Kizashi and 2006-2013 Grand Vitara vehicles. The front passenger leather seat may shrink due to high humidity and high temperature. As a result, the occupant classification system (OCS) sensor mat may not accurately detect if an adult or child is occupying the seat.

In the event of a crash necessitating airbag deployment, an incorrect classification may result in the passenger frontal air bag deploying even if there is a child in the front passenger seat, increasing their risk of injury.
Remedy
Suzuki will notify owners, and dealers will replace the seat bottom cushion, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters were mailed on May 3, 2019. All second letters notifying owners of the remedy were mailed by April 10, 2020. Owners may contact Suzuki customer service at 1-800-934-0934. Suzuki's numbers for this recall are 4011 and 4012.
Suzuki Motor of America, Inc. (Suzuki) is recalling certain 2009-2013 Grand Vitara vehicles equipped with a manual transmission. The gear shift rear shaft on these vehicles may break, preventing the gears from being able to be changed.
Risk and remedy

If the transmission cannot be shifted, it can increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Suzuki will notify owners, and dealers will replace the gear shift rear shaft, free of charge. The recall began March 2017. Owners may contact Suzuki customer service at 1-800-934-0934. Suzuki's number for this recall is VZ.

Air bag deployment with a child in the front passenger side seat increases the risk of injury to that child.
Remedy
Suzuki will notify owners and dealers will replace the front passenger seat cushion assembly (which includes the OCS sensor mat) free of charge. Sufficient quantities of parts are not currently available to fix all of the affected vehicles. Owners will be notified of the recall in October 2013 and will receive a second notification when parts are available to have their vehicle repaired. The recall began on May 23, 2014. Owners may contact Suzuki at 1-800-934-0934. Suzuki's recall campaign number is VD.

Remedy
Dealers will replace the tension adjuster pulley with an improved part. this service will be performed free of charge. the safety recall began on february 16, 2011. owners may contact suzuki at 1-887-697-8985 or visit suzuki's website at http://www.suzukiauto.com.
Suzuki IS recalling certain model year 2008 through 2010 SX4, 2010 grand vitara, and 2009 through 2010 equator vehicles that were equipped with a garmin nuvi model 750, 760, and 765 navigation system. The batteries contained in the affected gps units can overheat.

Overheated batteries could result in a fire.
Remedy

The vehicle IS confronting problems with the air bags security systems in motion. We understand that this IS an extremely dangerous circumstance, which deserves a detailed investigation.. Due to the information we have received, this vehicle has been the subject of investigations that have not been notified to us. Recalls may have been ordered.

The gps was recalled on the navi system. I have a 765 navi system and have not received the recall. I do not know who to contact. the gps got so hot that it stopped working and had to take it out of the vehicle.

My most recent inconvenience with my suzuki recall tensioner was on 2/5/2020, I was driving on a busy highway in the rain when my vehicle's belt tensioner and drive belt came off of the recall tension adjuster pulley. I could not turn my vehicle, the alternator light was on, and engine light was on. I have been trying to get all of my recall parts for my suzuki grand vitara repaired since may 2019. Royal nissan baton rouge, IS the company responsible for repairing suzuki's recalls, but they have failed to honor its warranty policy causing me to spend over $500 in repairs that should have been repaired. The belt has slipped on three separate occasions , I had no other choice but to pay for a new belt tensioner because my life was at risk. The company held responsible for out of pocket expenses and recall parts that are still incomplete IS royal nissan baton rouge, I spoke with a representative by the name of nathan.

Previous recall repair by dealer in 2014 (recall ID code "vd") has failed again. this time dealer will not guarantee the work performed since it was done almost 5 years ago. Part alone IS $500 (passenger occupancy sensor mat). original recall notice and dealer receipt from 2014 IS attached. suspect root cause of failure not found or addressed in repair. failure mode and trouble code (dtc b1312) are same as before. (Air bag and passenger seat belt reminder light remain on).

I had been problems with the front headlights, I had two tickets as results of this problems. I had replaced them at least 6 times a year. Also a lot of problems with the heat and cooling. I recently replace all the components from pump, radiator,thermostat and the last one heating cord more $4000.00 for a 2010. Make no sense at all. And the worst IS that we do not have any support from the zusuki. Bad purchases on this car.

The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the driver's side air bag warning light would intermittently illuminate when there was movement in the seat. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician diagnosed that the driver seat cushion needed to be replaced. The contact received a notification for recall nhtsa campaign number: 13v405000 (air bags) which specified the failure that the vehicle was exhibiting but on the passenger side. The manufacturer was not made aware of the problem. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 26,276.

Every morning I head off to work when the vehicle IS cold, I start the vehicle, I put into drive as I accelerate to about 10 miles I hear a rattling sound from underneath the vehicle. This sounds happens even when the car IS warm accelerating from a stopped position, such as being at a stoplight. I had the vehicle in the repair shop at the dealer where I purchased the vehicle. The dealer's service department said it was the heat shield for the catalytic converter. I left the vehicle overnight, in order for the service department to experience the annoying sound, when they test drove it the following morning. Here I am about seven months later with the problem. I believe it IS something more serious than a heat shield. I have scheduled a second appointment to have the same issue repaired. I have been research the issue online and see that this been an ongoing issue with suzukis. *tr
