I was riding through the rural countryside near where I live (kearney,mo.) on sunday afternoon. (7/25/1999). I was riding along on my 1997 suzuki tl-1000s when I rode over a rise in the road and hit a pothole. At first I thought I had blown a tire, I just concentrated on getting the bike stopped. The swingarm had sheared in half ! The bike had fallen away underneath me, and the suspension had collapsed so far that the exhaust header under the bike was crushed ! the rear tire burned a hole in the inner fender, the swingarm gouged a good sized impression in the left exhaust can, and the chained carved a notch in the side of the frame. I have a website with all the pictures pertaining to this claim. The swingarm weld at the pivot point completely sheared in two pieces.. The site IS http://www.qni.com/~nyztyz/pothole/ thank you..
