Risk
An inadvertently overloaded motorhome due to an incorrect carrying capacity can increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy
TMC will notify owners, and dealers will issue new OCCC labels with correct seating positions and weight calculations, free of charge. The recall began November 21, 2019. Owners may contact TMC customer service at 1-877-855-2867. TMC's number for this recall is RC000176.
Thor Motor Coach (TMC) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Quantum RW28 motorhomes. The vehicles may be missing the mid-ship marker lights. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
Risk and remedy
Risk
Without mid-ship marker lights, other drivers may underestimate the length of the vehicle, increasing the risk of crash.
Remedy
TMC will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and install mid-ship marker lights, as needed, free of charge. The recall began on April 25, 2019. Owners may contact TMC customer service at 1-877-855-2867. TMC's number for this recall is RC000167.
Thor Motor Coach (TMC) is recalling certain 2019 Thor Four Winds, Chateau, Freedom Elite, Majestic, Outlaw, Quantum and Vegas motorhomes built on modified Ford E-450 chassis. The U-bolts on the rear axle that hold the leaf spring and rear axle together may have been insufficiently tightened.
Risk and remedy
Risk
The loose U-bolts may further loosen or break allowing the axle to separate and cause a loss of control, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
TMC has notified owners, and dealers will tighten U-bolts to the proper torque, free of charge. The recall began on June 22, 2018. Owners may contact TMC customer service at 1-877-855-2867. TMC's number for this recall is RC000156.

- 10197974According to the tire manufacturer, Continental Tire the Americas (CTA), the affected tires may have an overcure condition and CTA has initiated a safety recall for these tires. According to CTA, overcured tires may experience a carcass break in the sidewall with sudden air loss or could develop a belt edge separation which could lead to partial or full tread/belt loss. These conditions may increase the risk of a crash. This affects the following Thor Motor Coach products: model year 2019 Quantum & Freedom Elite, 2019/2021 Daybreak & Four Winds, and 2019-2021 Chateau motorhomes.

- 10197609It has been determined that on certain Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vehicles, the hydraulic power steering return line hoses might detach at their connection points under certain operating conditions, which could cause hydraulic fluid to leak, resulting in the loss of power steering assist. If the hydraulic power steering hose detaches, the driver will still have manual steering functionality, but increased steering effort will be needed, particularly at low speeds. Sudden loss of power steering assist as well as the loss of hydraulic steering fluid to the road surface may increase the risk of a crash. This affects the following Thor Motor Coach products: 2017-2020 Chateau, Chateau Citation, Four Winds, Gemini, Quantum, Siesta, & Synergy; 2018-2019 Compass; 2018-2020 Freedom Elite; 2021 Sanctuary & Tranquility
- 10179805Certain model year 2019.5 Chateau, Four Winds, and Quantum 31 motorhomes may experience problems with the gas burner igniting on the cooktop. This may be due to the cooktop being a second-generation TI-1+2B combination gas/induction cooktop which requires a 12-volt power supply wire from the distribution panel. This 12-volt power supply wire may be missing.
