1 recall names the 2026 Toyota Land Cruiser Hybrid. Newest first.
Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2024-2027 Toyota Land Cruiser Hybrid vehicles. The fuel tube connection near the fuel tank may disconnect and leak fuel.
A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.
Dealers will inspect the connection and install a supplemental clamp or, as necessary, replace the resin fuel tube and install a supplemental clamp, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed November 29, 2026. Owners may contact Toyota's customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's numbers for this recall are 26TB23 and 26TA23.
My 2026 Toyota Land Cruiser has developed an exceptionally loud front brake squeal, documented by Toyota on June 3, 2026. Although Toyota has issued a Technical Service Bulletin addressing this condition, no repair has been completed. The noise has progressively worsened, raising concerns about the condition and functionality of the front braking system. Additionally, several exterior components have begun melting and deforming, including the exterior mirrors, rear spoiler, and rear hatch components. This damage was documented on September 30, 2026. Several affected areas contain or surround electrical components, cameras, and sensors designed to support vehicle visibility and safety. I am currently unaware whether the melting and deformation have damaged these internal systems. Both issues have been documented and confirmed by an authorized Toyota dealership and reported to the manufacturer. Neither issue has been resolved. No warning lights or messages have appeared. I am concerned that the deteriorating braking system and potential damage to visibility-related safety equipment may put the driver, passengers, and others at risk. The vehicle and affected components are available for inspection upon request.
My vehicle started when I left work and about 1/4 mile down the road every dash light came on and said Check Engine Reduced Engine power, Secondary collision Brake System malfunction, Hybrid system malfuncion, System malfunction, Drive start control malfunction. Then when I got out there was gasoline pouring from the bottom of my car running down the parking lot. It was a very dangerous situation. I was very afraid because someone in the parking lot was smoking. I called the Toyota towing service and they came and towed it to Doc's Toyota. That's where I purchased the car.
One Driver + one Passenger. Pulled into parking spot very slowly. Vehicle was moving about 1 mph, ready to pull to a stop, still in Drive. Vehicle suddenly surged forward with incredible energy and noise. Vehicle sped off parking lot and ascended steep ~6-foot berm of forest soil (no boulders). Driver applied brake, but it would not work. Driver later reported many red light warning indicators on the dash. Vehicle ran over saplings and on the passenger side sideswiped tree branches and tree trunk. Vehicle stopped suddenly. Incident lasted ~2-3 seconds. Driver and passenger were shaken, but unharmed. Vehicle put into Park. All red light warnings were off. Driver and Passenger got out to assess. Had the vehicle not stopped it would have run into a small tree head-on. Passenger side vehicle was badly damaged; front passenger door was crumpled badly, rear of vehicle had some damage. Tires appeared fine. No fluids were leaking. Front of vehicle appeared unscathed. Skid plates on vehicle were probably protected vehicle bottom. Vehicle was started, and was maneuvered back down off of berm; this required many backwards and forwards movements; could not descend the way we went up; vehicle appeared to be operating normally. No red light warning indicators. Got vehicle back down onto pavement of the parking lot. A witness provided contact information, and corroborated how suddenly and violently the vehicle ”flew” up the berm. Tested driving vehicle in the lot, especially slowing down to a stop – it was behaving normally. Vehicle was taken to Toyota dealership. This issue appears to be related to electronic and braking systems in this year-make-model, according to online searches.
The contact owns a 2026 Toyota Land Cruiser Hybrid. The contact stated that while driving 5 MPH, two bystanders alerted the contact to stop the vehicle because there was pressurized gas coming from underneath the vehicle. The contact became aware of a loss of power. The contact was able to continue driving the vehicle. The failure was intermittent. The vehicle was towed. The dealer was contacted and replaced a hose and clamp that had popped out of place. The failure mileage was approximately 8,000.
The windshield is very steep by design and is also seemingly extremely delicate. Within 6 months I had multiple spider cracks simply from driving around town and on the highway at 55-65 mph. A few weeks ago a rock hit the windshield and spidered almost immediately. The angle and the thin glass make it dangerous. It also cost just shy of $2900 to replace at my local Toyota dealership, which I did today. There are multiple complaints online in Toyota and Reddit and other forums.
The driver's side exterior mirror on my 2026 Toyota Land Cruiser vibrates excessively while driving, particularly at highway speeds. The vibration causes the mirror image to become blurred, making it difficult to accurately monitor adjacent lances and surrounding traffic. It reduces rearward visibility and creates a potential safety hazard during lane changes. I reported the issue to Toyota multiple times. After repeated visits the mirror was replaced under a one-time goodwill repair. However, the replacement mirror exhibits the same excessive vibration and the problem remains unsolved. Multiple dealerships have states that this is a common characteristic and has declined further repairs. The condition continues to interfere with safe operation and should be investigated.
1. Brake System Failure-Recurring dashboard warnings including “Brake Power Low” and “Secondary Collision Brake System Malfunction.” Warnings have appeared multiple times, including while towing a travel trailer. The vehicle was diagnosed with related fault codes (including DTC C138071 – Stop Lamp Relay). The problem returned after a dealer service visit. I do not consider the vehicle safe to drive or tow while these warnings are active. 2.Issue 2 – Engine (Metal Debris / Elevated Iron) Metal filings and shavings have been found repeatedly on the magnetic oil drain plug. An independent laboratory oil analysis (Blackstone Laboratories) showed iron levels approximately 2.7 times higher than the normal average after only about 4,000 miles on the oil. This indicates abnormal internal engine wear.
Active Technical Service Bulletin that was not disclosed by Toyota or my dealer. The brakes make a piercing metal on metal noise when placed in reverse. I've been told this is not a safety issue, there will be no longer term impacts, and it is safe to drive. The issue however is that Toyota is limiting distribution of available repair parts, so I am on a 5-6 month wait list with my dealer. Bulletin is: T-SB-0046-25 Rev2
