  On certain motorcycles equipped with an optional accessory luggage rack, undersized washers were used which prevents the sliding carriage from moving as intended.

  Risk and remedy

  Risk

  Reduced stability can occur if the motorcycle IS ridden with the fitted accessory, exceeded maximum weight, and at speeds far in excess of the 80 mph limit warning, increasing the risk of a crash.

  Remedy

  Dealers will inspect the accessory racks for lateral movement. those racks not displaying any movement will be repaired. the recall began on february 8, 2008. owners may contact triumph at 1-678-854-2010.

  Tl*the contact owns a 2008 triumph tiger 1050. while driving approximately 75 mph, the contact drove over a small bump in the road. afterwards, the two hard traveling triumph bags that were properly locked and secured to the vehicle opened and released all of the contact's belongings onto the highway. the failure was hazardous to the other drivers. he called the manufacturer and IS currently waiting for a return call. the luggage has not been repaired. the current mileage was 3,800 and failure mileage was 3,410.
