On certain trucks equipped with bando belt tensioner, corrosion or rust may develop on the tensioner spindle or bushing causing the auto tensioner to become stiff or bind. This can cause the drive belt to suddenly come off, or the auto tensioner mounting bolts could suddenly break.
Risk and remedy

If the drive belt comes off, the alternator warning lamp will illuminate. if the warning IS ignored, this condition could ultimately result in a loss of vehicle power (engine stall) increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the auto tensioner, install upgraded mounting bolts, and replace the accessory drive belt free of charge. the recall began on august 24, 2007. owners may contact nissan diesel at 972-756-5523. note: this recall will supersede nissan diesel's previous campaign (please see 06v159).

On certain medium duty trucks, the exhaust pipe may break at the exhaust brake mounting flange.
Risk and remedy
Risk
The exhaust brake and muffler assembly could separate from the exhaust pipe and be discharged from under the vehicle in the event that the exhaust pipe cracks completely through while driving. this could occur without warning and potentially cause a crash or impede other vehicles on the highway.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the exhaust pipe on the affected vehicles. the recall began on october 28, 2005. owners may contact nissan diesel at 1-972-756-5500.

The truck completeyl shut off,as if it went dead. When I tried to restart it would not turnover. The SUV was towed to a nissan dealer service dept and was kept there for a wek for testing. I was told there was nothing wrong, just out of gas. I had between a 1/2-1/4 tank of gas prior to this.i receive the SUV back on 11/5/07. On 11/6/07 while driving with a small child inside,the same thing happen again. This time a 18 wheeler truck almost ran into the back of my truck. This time I could steer over to the side,the truck went completely dead.my life and nieces life was almost taken. *tr

- 10032992Nissan: xenon head lamp service. A xenon headlamp IS not functioning because of an issue inside the headlamp assembly (an internal issue). In most cases, replacement of a bulb or hid control unit will solve the incident. This includes all models with xenon head lamps. No models listed.

- 10032306Nissan: exterior lamp fogging. Occasionally water IS noticed in the exterior lamps. This IS generally not due to a defect. All current exterior lamp assemblies are vented to the atmosphere (not sealed). This IS necessary to allow for expansion and contraction of air from temperature variations (warmer or colder) without damage to the lamp. Moisture in the air sometimes travels into and out of the lamp assembly through these vents. Certain environmental conditions may cause moisture to condense.
