These records cover every 1992 Utility Trailer. To see whether one car still needs a recall repair, decode its VIN or check it with NHTSA.
1 recall names the 1992 Utility Trailer. Newest first.
A crack occurs outboard of the axle attachment which grows and results in separation of the end of that axle, including tires and wheels, from the trailer.
Axle separation while moving can increase the risk of a vehicle accident.
Dealers will inspect the trailers at all 8 welds on the axle to air ride beam connections for visible cracks. If a crack IS detected, the trailers will be removed from service and the axles replaced.
I have 2 bluestar tires that I was told are not part of the recall. The place I bought the tires from IS very adamant saying these tires are not part of the recall. I was driving down the road with a 2 wheel trailer which the tires are mounted on. I heard a loud pop sound and I stopped to find out what happened. At first I could not find anything wrong. But then I noticed 2 bulges on the sidewall of one of the tires. I was pulling it with our tractor and only going about 10 mph. Sometimes I pull this trailer with our pickup, which could cause an accident, because of the faster travel speeds. The tire didn't completely blow out, it just popped very loud causing these sidewall blisters. I was told these tires are not part of the recall, but they definitely should be. These defective tires obviously take in a larger group of tires than the company wants to accountable for. Someone will get hurt. *tr
