I am a hazardous-materials tanker driver for Pilot Company / Pilot Flying J, based at [XXX]. This complaint concerns a new replacement orange seatbelt installed by my employer in truck unit 50757, Tennessee plate [XXX]. During normal driving, the belt unexpectedly locks or tightens against my neck and pins me back, restricting movement and creating unsafe driving conditions. I have experienced similar problems in other company trucks, and colleagues report comparable problems affecting their necks. I have repeatedly documented defects in pre-trip and post-trip reports and notified management and safety. Yard lead [XXX] said the belts were fine and defect entries were being dismissed. I have not been informed of a satisfactory repair. The concern is unexpected locking during normal driving. I understand seatbelt use is required and want a functioning restraint. Exact belt manufacturer, model, part number, installation date are not yet confirmed. My records and recordings document the reported problem. In truck 50757, this occurs daily since approximately the beginning of 2026 and continues to the present. XXXis an approximate onset date, not a confirmed installation or first-incident date. Prior neck and dental injuries occurred in a different truck, unit 50750, which is no longer at the yard; its VIN and plate are unavailable. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
