Wilson trailers IS recalling 7,429 my 1999-2009 gooseneck trailers. the defect concerns the lock support tube that may have been installed beyond specification. if this IS the case, the lock could develop inadequate pin engagement resulting in the gate opening unexpectedly.

Remedy
Owners are to check the gap between the keeper and support tube and should document the dimension on the postcard provided and return it back to wilson trailers. if the gap IS greater than 3/8 inch, a field repair IS available to adjust the support tube to the correct dimension. if the owner prefer, you may contact wilson dealer so they can inspect the area of concern and adjust the lock support tube to maintain adequate pin engagement. This service will be performed free of charge. the recall IS expected to begin during may 2009. owners may contact wilson trailers at 1800-798-2002.

TL* the contact owns a 2009 wilson goose neck trailer. The contact stated that while loading equipment onto the trailer, the dove tail almost fractured. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that the equipment that was loaded was too heavy for the trailer. The contact stated that the gvr for the trailer was 25,900 pounds and the equipment that was loaded when the failure occurred was 18,600 pounds. The trailer had not been repaired and the contact stated that he was unable to use the trailer because of the failure. The vin was unavailable. The failure and current mileage was 2,000.
