  On certain motorcycles, the rear fender strut attaching bolts can fail allowing the rear fender to detach from the motorcycle.

  Risk and remedy

  Risk

  This could occur without prior warning and could result in an injury or a crash.

  Remedy

  Dealers will remove existing strut bolts and replace with higher tensile strength attaching bolts and updated washers. higher torque values will be observed when installing the replacement fasteners. the recall began on january 21, 2008. owners may contact big dog at 316-267-9121.

  Certain big dog aftermarket sissy bar assemblies sold as an accessory part for the motorcycles listed above. the sissy bar assemblies may be undersized, allowing excessive movement of the sissy bar. over time, this could cause the bolts that retain the sissy bar to break allowing the sissy bar to detach from the motorcycle.

  This condition could occur without warning and could result in injury and/or a crash.

  Remedy

  Big dog will notify owners and replace the affected sissy bars free of charge. the recall IS expected to begin on or about august 24, 2007. owners can contact big dog motorcycles customer service department collect at 316-267-9121.

  Motorcycle tire avon cobra AV72 3000/35 VR18 (87V) this tire IS seperating at the join slice after only 6500 miles. The same identical tire on a different bike IS seperating after 2500 miles. A blow out if this tire fails could result in injury or death. This failure has been reported on many bikes with the same exact tire. *tt

  Tl*the contact owns a 2007 big dog mastiff. the contact received three recall notices for his vehicle in december of 2007, january of 2008, and march of 2008. he took the vehicle to the dealer for repair, but they stated that no one was available to service the vehicle. when he called the dealer back, he was informed that they were going out of business. he attempted to call the manufacturer, but could not reach a representative. the three recalls were in regards to the rear fender strut bolt, a voltage regulator, and a balancing issue. the recall numbers were unknown. the current mileage was approximately 1,500 and failure mileage was approximately 1,000.
