TL* the contact owns a 2006 BMW 750I. The contact received a recall notice for nhtsa campaign number: 17v328000 (latches/locks/linkages). The vehicle was taken to tom bush BMW jacksonville (9875 atlantic blvd, jacksonville, fl 32225) where they stated that they repaired the vehicle. After leaving the dealer, the contact noticed that the rear driver's side door would not latch and close all the way. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where they stated that the contact would have to pay out of pocket to have the door latch repaired. The manufacturer was contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.
There was a recall a couple years ago regarding the parking brake actuator on my vehicle. the dealership in jacksonville, florida states they repaired it. however, I am still having the same issue now and the parking brake actuator sensor light IS flashing on my dashboard. according to the description of what can happen if this IS faulty and happen, I am scared for my life to drive the car.
Brakes suddenly became very hard to engage. it took quite a bit of force to bring the car to a complete stop. A mechanic informed me that the brake booster system had failed and that BMW had a recall for the system - 10v-466. I called BMW warranty and informed them of the reason for my call as well as the vin. they told me that there were no outstanding recall notices for my vehicle. while no one could tell me when, the fact that there were no outstanding recall notices on this vehicle apparently indicating that the correction on the car had been made. after a lengthy debate about what this meant and why BMW said they had no more responsibility for the issue, I asked to speak to a supervisor. I got sarah (employee #7716), an escalation supervisor. very nice but essentially told me there was nothing she could do, that BMW was not responsible for this matter and there was no one that she could escalate me to. if the correction, as spelled out in the recall notice was in fact made, it did not work. the actual language used in the recall notice under correction states as follows: 'the updated brake booster vacuum supply line with fluid check valve IS to be installed in all applicable vehicles to eliminate future contamination.' (the emphasis IS mine) I had esc save all of the parts and they have confirmed that in fact the brake booster was contaminated with oil which caused the membrane to fail. to me, this means one of two things: 1. the updated booster vacuum supply line with fluid check was never installed in my vehicle; or 2. the BMW solution to the problem was faulty. as for the brake booster vacuum supply line, it appears that the line was replaced at 97K miles in august of 2013. so what good did that do? it failed again, (i have all of the parts) in less than 5 years. see documentation attached.

Rollaway: certain model year 2005 through 2008 7 series equipped with the comfort access option and manufactured from august 23, 2004 through july 24, 2008 have an electronic key and an electronic connection between the gear shifter and the transmission (shift-by-wire) that automatically shifts the transmission to park when the driver presses the start/stop button to shutdown the engine. If the engine start/stop button IS pressed 2 or 3 times within a short time interval, the system may shift the transmission to neutral rather than park. If using the electronic key (comfort access mode), there would be no protection from the ignition interlock that prevents key removal if the vehicle IS not in park.
The transmission drive fault light and engine light are coming on and the car does not want to switch gears. On some occasions park becomes neutral, also it hesitates to start. Sometimes the only gear that will work IS reverse. The car was just started, in motion on the street and highway when these problems have occurred.
TL* the contact owns a 2006 BMW 750I. While driving 20 mph, the vehicle failed to accelerate when the accelerator pedal was depressed. The engine would rev and the transmission fault warning indicator illuminated. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle, and was able to be drive; however, the transmission fault indicator remained illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact mentioned that the failure began two months ago and would occur occasionally, but then became a daily occurrence. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 116,000.
TL* the contact owned a 2006 BMW 750I. While driving at an unknown speed, the contact rear ended a vehicle, lost control, and struck the barrier wall four times. The air bags did not deploy. The air bag warning indicator illuminated. A police report was filed. There was one injury that required medical attention. The contact suffered four lacerations. The vehicle was towed to a salvage yard and deemed destroyed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer sent an adjuster a year later to diagnose the vehicle. The inspector stated that the bald tires could have caused the air bags not to deploy. The vin was unknown. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.
Doors will not latch I spoke with dealer he wanted me to spend$195 before he worked on my car I explain after reaching the problem and found a recall on one of the sensor s. Still refuse to repair without me spending $195.
A warning message IS informing me that the (fault in pass-restraint system affecting airbag, belt tensioner or belt force limiter) needs to be check.
While driving about 20 miles per hour approaching a stop, the car shifted into neutral and on the dash indicated the gear IS now "n", then steering wheel locked and I could not turn to pull off the road. This was dangerous as I was in the middle of the road. After turning off the car, turning it back on, the problem disappears. If this fault happens on a highway, it can cause a fatal accident if the steering wheel locks and gear shifts to neutral. From reading BMW forums, they say possible causes could be the integrated supply module, transmission fault, electrical issue, or the smg sensor. Please read similar stories online. I just purchased a 2006 BMW 750I. Beautiful car. I saw that it had a recall. So I took it to the BMW dealership in charlotte nc northlake to get it checked out because I just bought the vehicle. I told them about the recall and they said they would check it. It's the year 2016 and they tell me that the recall was for 10 years and that they wouldnt repair the problem. My car IS 10 years old and I dont understand why they wont repair it. And its a very serious problem for me and my family. The airbag IS a very serious recall. Was just hoping that I could get some help with this issue. I dont feel as if I should have to pay for the repairs on such a serious defect. And it was a recall for a reason

I took my car to the BMW dealership in 2012 because I noticed oil in my garage. I was told there was no oil leak and nothing was wrong. I reported in 2013 that the 'add oil' indicator was coming on less than 2,000 miles after an oil change and was told there was nothing found that need servicing. in 2014 I took my car back because my oil indicator stated I needed to add oil and I was told I had an oil gasket issue that would cost $11,000 to correct. I took my car to the dealership 3 times while it was under warranty and was never told of any problem until after the warranty expired. the same IS true with the transmission; I had my car serviced while under warranty but wasn't told of a transmission malfunction until the warranty was expired. I have to add oil every 3 to 4 weeks and my overdrive IS not functional. now I am experiencing a problem with the drivers door; it won't close at all but I was told that my car IS not on the recall list for the door malfunction.

TL* the contact owns a 2006 BMW 750I. While driving approximately 65 mph, the transmission slipped out of fifth gear into third gear violently and the warning indicator illuminated. The transmission failed to shift properly into first, second, and fourth gears. The vehicle was driven with caution to the contact's residence. The contact also experienced difficulty when shifting out of the park position. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 91,000.
Passenger side door opens on its on as stated in recall threatening the safety nad life of my passenger my air bag warning lights are constantly displayed. My air bag system IS now compromised and this IS another BMW recall on vehicles in this years make and model. but vehicle IS exhibiting all of these defects/problems but I am excluded. ID like to know the legality of my exclusion before I go further with any legal action when I attempted to move my vehicle initially the first instance of occurrence caught my attention concerning the door. And the air bag warning stays on from the time I start the car until I turn it off .
NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opened these reviews into vehicles including this one.
In a letter dated October 16, 2012, BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) submitted a Defect Information Report (DIR), NHTSA Recall No. 12V-502 to NHTSA identifying a safety defect involving the possibility of unattended vehicle rollaway in MY 2005 through 2008 BMW 7-Series (approximately 45,000) vehicles equipped with the Comfort Access Option. The Comfort Access option allows the driver to start and stop the engine (by pressing the engine start / stop button) without inserting the key fob into the vehicles key slot in the instrument panel.Subject vehicles not equipped with the Comfort Access option require the key fob be inserted the key slot to start the engine.Upon removal of the key from the key slot the vehicle will automatically shift to Park if the driver has not done so using the gearshift lever.Sunject vehicles equipped with the Comfort Access option are designed such that when the vehicle is stopped with the service brakes applied and the transmission in Drive or Reverse, the driver can push the engine start/stop button one time, stopping the engine and automatically shifting the transmission to Park.In its DIR, BMW identified a condition such that if the driver depressed the start-stop button multiple times in rapid succession, the transmission could shift to Neutral instead of Park. With the transmission in neutral, depending on the slope of the road, the vehicle could rollaway if unattended. In review of data submitted to the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) and of reports submitted to BMW, ODI identified 20 reports alleging vehicle rollaway involving vehicles equipped with Comfort Access. The vehicles identified in these reports are all subject to recall 12V-502.Ten of these reports were identified as likely related to the defect described in recall 12V-502.Two of the reports are likely related to other mechanical failures. The remaining 8 allegations of vehicle rollaway could not be associated with a specific cause. There are 32 reports alleging vehicle rollaway in the subject vehicles not equipped with the Comfort Access option.A vehicle based safety defect trend was not identified in these reports.Subject vehicles not equipped the Comfort Access option will automatically shift to Park once the key fob is removed from the key slot.In this regard these vehicles behave similarly to those with traditional mechanical keys where the key cannot be removed from the ignition unless the vehicle is shifted to Park. The difference between these vehicles and the subject vehicles with the Comfort Access option is that in the Comfort Access equipped vehicles, the engine can be started and stopped without the key fob in the key slot.ODI reports 10429922 and 10419177 noted in the EA opening resume were determined to be vehicles not equipped with the Comfort Access option and ODI did not identify a vehicle based safety defect associated with these incidents. This investigation is closed. The ODI report cited above can be reviewed at www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/owners/SearchNHTSAID under the following identification (ODI) numbers:10185770
