Vehicle description: light duty pickup trucks and multi-purpose passenger vehicles. one or both front brake rotor/hubs were built with an out-of-specification gray iron that can fail during the life of the vehicle.
If a driver continues to drive with a cracked rotor, the cracks could continue around the wheel mounting bolt circle and ultimately result in a wheel separation.
Dealers will inspect the rotors for a core date of "287" and, if found, replace the rotor.
When applying the brakes during normal braking condtions/smooth road surface, and no inclement weather, it seemed as though the left front wheel locked up and the truck did not stop in a safe distance. problem was worse on wet roads. Dealer stated that nothing was wrong with the brakes. in october of1999, this problem caused a rear end crash. Please provide any further information. The truck IS a company owned vehicle. *Ak
When applying the brakes the vehicle vibrates and pulls to the left. About every 3 months, the brake assembly has to have something replaced such as pads, rotors, etc. Dlr has seen vehicle over 11 times and problem still exists. *Ak
