The ABS hydraulic control unit can experience excessive brake actuator piston seal wear causing pump-motor deterioration.
If this condition occurs, the ABS function could be lost and reduced power assist would be experienced during vehicle braking increasing the potential for a vehicle accident.
Dealers will test the vehicle's anti-lock brake system and repair the vehicles if necessary. Also the warranty on all ABS components will be extended to 10 years or 100,000 miles (except for the brake actuator piston assembly and the pump-motor assembly which will have a lifetime coverage). Owners will also be reimbursed for previous ABS component repair costs.
The zinc plating operation performed on the upper steering column shaft coupling bolt caused hydrogen embrittlement and breakage of the bolt.
Fractures of the upper steering column shaft couplingbolt result in a lack of coupling load on the shaft and loss of steeringcontrol.
Replace the zinc plated bolt with a phosphate plated bolt.
TL* the contact owns a 1992 dodge dynasty. The contact stated that the steering had been extremely rough when attempting to operate the vehicle. TL* the contact owns a 1992 dodge dynasty. While driving approximately 20 mph the vehicle suddenly stalled. The contact was able to restart the vehicle after it stalled. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing nor was it repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 107,507.
Serpentine belt comes off when splashed by water on road, causing failure of power steering, alternator and water pump. this failure was routine whenever the vehicle was driven through pooled water exceeding 1/2 inch. The upper alternator bracket was found to have suffered fatigue cracks and the alternator mounting bolt was not held rigid. Splashed water causes the belt to slip-catch thus displacing the position of the alternator pulley, and the belt IS thrown off the pulleys. this was the last of many incidents (approximately 10 other times) where the belt was thrown driving on wet roads. (the original equipment splash shield IS in place.) the loss of power steering in a turn IS considered to be an extreme hazard (occurred six times.) the engine IS the 3.3 liter V6 which was used extensively in many chrysler vehicles in this era, and aging may affect many others. (If an owner complains of repetitive instances of throwing the serpentine belt during wet weather, check the upper alternator bracket mounting bolt location for breaks or cracks.) the bracket was removed, a piece of steel was worked to replace the broken area of the bracket and mig welded into the bracket. *Tr
Tl*the contact owns a 1992 dodge dynasty. while driving 30 mph and attempting to stop the vehicle, the brakes failed. the contact stated that the antilock brakes locked, which prevented the vehicle from moving. the vehicle was towed to the dealer. the vehicle was repaired in 1999 according to nhtsa campaign ID number 96v099000 (service brakes, hydraulic:antilock). the contact stated that there was a lifetime warranty on this recall; however, the dealer does not want to repair the vehicle again for free. the failure mileage was 100,000.
The most recent failure was when I was driving up a very curvy road (hwy 101) in oregon. The temperature was not overly warm, the car had only been driven 20 miles or so that morning. I was using the air conditioner off and on so as not to have the windows open. We reached the crest and when starting down, the engine died when the gas pedal was released and brakes applied, and the power steering stopped. I managed to break to the side of the road and was towed to town. The next morning when the mechanic's opened, they started the car and it didn't fail after 20 miles of driving the same terrain, and we returned home (90 miles or so) without a problem. this has happened on several previous occasions, intermittently, months may go by, then without warning, usually when removing my foot from the gas, the car loses power and dies. It has always started up again immediately except for the latest incident. the former owner of this car said this also happened to him. He seems to think adding a fuel cleaner to the gas helps prevent occurrences. Mechanics say it's impossible to find the cause if it's running. Needless to say, I'll be looking for a newer vehicle. *nm

After normal servicing on the fuel rail on my 1992 dodge dynasty 3.3lv6, the non-replaceable seals in the crossover tube at the end of the fuel rail began leaking. this IS the same leak fixed in recall campaign 00v268000 for the dodge caravan 3.3L V6, however my local dealership could not provide me with the seals that are used to repair this leak. through much investigation on the internet, I have found many instances of other owners of dodge/chrysler vehicles with the same 3.3l/3.8l V6 engines that are experiencing this same issue, and feel that this recall should be expanded to cover all makes and models shipped with this engine and fuel-rail combination. *la

My friend and I have cars that dodge made. My IS the 1992 dynasty and hers IS the 1993 dodge van. Well this year we both starting getting leaks in our fuel rail which we were told that dodge knew and that they recalled some but not on the dynasty and only some vans. I feel that if this IS a manufacture problem then they should have to pay for the fixing of the problem and not us. My car caught fire because of this putting all of us in danger in the car.*ak
