My car was originally parked outside the garage. I started the vehicle using the key fob. I began to press the remote smart parking assist button to back the car into the garage but the button was not working correctly and would not move the car. At that point, I went into the car and reversed it manually into the garage. I placed the car in “park” and exited the vehicle to check the position of the car. The position was off so I got back in the car and proceeded to move the car forward a couple of feet. I pressed the “park” button and exited the vehicle. The vehicle started to inch forward and I reached into the car to attempt to stop the vehicle from its forward travel. At that point, I was wedged between the driver’s side door and the b pillar as the car began to use the middle portion of the split garage to compress me across my abdomen, hips, and legs.

Windshield cracks- I got two windshield cracks from a very small rocks, going at very low speeds. The glass does NOT seem thick/resistant enough. the two crack occurred on the SEPARATE occasions. There are multiple complains about his known issue with GV80 and other Genesis vehicles. After getting a small chip, it quickly develops into a crack as the glass is not holding as it should.

  Engine

In March 2026, I was driving on the freeway when the car shut itself off and put itself into neutral and accessory modes. There was no warning. This put the safety of myself and other drivers on the road at serious risk because I was unable to accelerate or adequately control my vehicle without warning. The dealer says the car "is operating as designed."

I have a concern with the power folding rear seats to increase the cargo space. It doesn't stopped if you are sitting in the seat and pushed the button. I tested it myself. This to me is very alarming and Genesis need to fix it or someone will get hurt or killed like the Hyundai Palisades case. A child shouldn't have to lose their life for Hyundai to fix a known issue. I really hope Genesis will follow suit and fix the problem before anyone else get hurt.

My 2024 GV80 with approximately 15k miles started completely powering off while driving multiple times and the vehicle started itself while in my enclosed garage space with no one in the vehicle, no button/brake pressed, not key fob pressed. I turned this into the dealership for manufacturer repair on 9/13/25 and as of today, 2/5/26, I still do not have my car back. The dealership explains there is an intermittent parasitic draw that they have been unable to identify. The battery drain, they claim, resulted in the car stopping by itself and starting by itself. The company has refused buyback under Lemon Law (not covering CPO), letters to the CEO have gone unanswered, multiple claims with Genesis corporate have resulted in no help and the local dealership is horrendous- no response, having the vehicle 5 months, no timeline.

I drive Genesis GV 80 vehicle made in Korea. The information screen on my car keeps displaying very distracting message about SiriusXm radio free music in what are so-called pop-up advertisements that keep showing up randomly while I’m driving distracting me from paying attention to other cars and traffic in general ! I find this quite dangerous and want something done about stopping these ad’s from being displayed while I am driving as they may cause me to have an accident. This sort of intrusion should not be happening in the cars we drive here in America someone’s going to cause an accident because they were reading these ads and not watching the road. I have taken the vehicle to the dealer a total of 3 times to repair the issue. They have performed the TSB work 3 times and it has not resolved the issue. I just picked up the vehicle for the 3rd time from the dealer and they say that there is nothing more at this point. They know it's an issue and since it involves the steering it's a safety issue.

While driving through a parking lot on [XXX], leaves blew in front of car and it automatically came to an abrupt stop. While driving on [XXX] on [XXX] at approximately 70 MPH, without any encroaching vehicles and with no road obstructions, the automatic emergency braking temporarily engaged on 2 occasions, indicator on dash indicated that it occurred, and I felt the wheels lock up for a short time. Fortunately, there was nobody very close behind me and I was able to maintain control of the car. In neither of these instances, did I physically apply the brake. I continued to drive the vehicle home at a decreased speed and have parked it in my garage. The vehicle mileage is 27043 and has no damage. An apparent dangerous malfunction with the vehicle's ADAS system (possible computer, camera or sensor.) I have spoken with the dealer and they are arranging to pick the vehicle up from my house. Unrelated, I had the vehicle oil changed at this same dealer (Genesis of Cherry Hill) at 6,000 miles and had to have it towed back to them the next day because they overfilled the oil, the CEL illuminated and it developed a misfire. Likely caused internal engine damage and flooded the VVT solenoids and likely aerated the oil, reducing its lubricating capability. While at a stop sign on a hill the brakes failed. Brake pedal released and sunk to the floor while pressed at a stop sign. I lost control of the car and had to swerve to the opposite side of the road to avoid collision. I then attempted to engage the emergency brake but that failed as well. The car rolled through a red light after which I put the car in park in an effort to stop the vehicle before running the next red light. The car came to a jerking stop after I put it in park. At the time of brake failure, warning alerts activated on the dashboard. “Stop vehicle and check brake system.” After I was finally able to stop the car I called roadside assistance and had the car towed to the dealership for assessment and repairs.

Purchased my 2024 GV80 3.5t in June of 2024 and have been experiencing intermittent issues with the acceleration. Car hesitates when accelerating and can causing accidents while at an intersection making a turn. I have bought the car into the dealership three times, and they are unable to reproduce. Unfortunately, after reading the complaints and symptoms of the fuel pump recall for the 2021-2023 this issue seems identical. I have reach out to Genesis Corporate and they are no help and don't return calls or emails for days.

Total battery system failure to where vehicle would not start/restart, or if started via jumping, would stall out shortly thereafter. Battery problem to point to where jump starting is difficult due to shorted battery lowering availalble power to start/restart engine. This could have caused unexpected removal of power from the vehcile during traveling or in unsafe areas. This appears to be a very common problem with this vehicle as seen on various online forums and lack of part (battery) availability.

• 11011760Certain GV70 (JK1) and GV80 (JX1) vehicles may exhibit water leakage inside the vehicle due to the sunroof drain hose plugs being clogged with foreign material or a water gurgling noise from the sunroof while driving in the rain. Follow the procedures in this bulletin to replace the front sunroof drain hose plugs and, if necessary, modify the rear drain hose plugs.
• 11009768Certain GV70 (JK1, JK1A), GV80 (JX1) and G80 (RG3) vehicles may have a hum or whine noise condition from the rear differential at certain speeds. This bulletin describes the procedure to inspect the vehicle for the hum or whine noise and if necessary to tighten the rear differential lock nut first. If the hum or whine noise remains, then replace the rear differential or other driveline components as necessary.
• 11009411Certain Genesis vehicles (listed below) equipped with Lambda-III 3.5T-GDI engines may exhibit reduced heater performance due to engine coolant deposits clogging the heater core. This bulletin provides instructions to verify the concern and to replace the front and rear heater core (if applicable).
• 11009410Certain 2023-2024MY GV80 (JX1) vehicles equipped with the 3.5T-GDI engine may experience a warning lamp illumination for a diagnostic trouble code P250F that is related to the oil level sensor circuit. Due to the current logic in the vehicles, DTC P250F could set unintentionally when the engine oil level is within the proper range. Follow the service procedure outlined in this bulletin to check the engine oil level and reprogram the powertrain control module to update the oil level sensor warning light logic to ensure the light only illuminates when required.
