On certain motorhomes, fifth wheels and travel trailers equipped with norcold refrigerator cooling units model numbers 1200lr and 1200rim, these refrigerators can experience low cycle fatigue failure which can lead to the liquid solution slowly leaking from the sealed, pressurized cooling unit through a small crack.
If a leak occurs and the unit IS continually operated, hydrogen gas may be expelled and can be ignited, resulting in a fire, possibly causing serious injury or death.
Norcold will notify its customers and provide a replacement cooling unit free of charge. owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact norcold service center at 1-800-667-3005 or monaco at 574-862-7211.
Vehicle description: diesel motor homes built on a freightliner chassis. the fuel relay was positioned too close to the engine. excessive heat from the engine can cause premature failure of the fuel relay.
If the fuel relay fails, engine stalling can occur increasing the risk of a crash.
Dealers will relocate the fuel relay to the frame strut of the firewall.
Dt: good year tires, failur on right rear outside deul, tread seperation happened, damagae to the motor home. looking at the right front tries, I found buldges on the tread, spare tire also had a buldge type spot on it. I have called goodyear, and said they could pro rate for new ones. did take to the product damage department. was not satificed with the responce and they said no safety recall.
While driving 60 mph front driver's side tire blew out. consumer stated that front axle was overloaded. *ak
Four tires blew out, the forth tire blew the fender weld out
The gvwr of the motor home IS grossly insufficient for the intended use. I believe this vehicle IS a danger to my family and other vehicles on the road. the motor home has a gvwr of 19,400 pounds. the front axle rating IS 6,000 pounds with the rear axles carrying the balance of 13,400 pounds. the vehicle was weighed on a certified scale with empty holding tanks, half a tank of gas, < tank of water and full propane. the front axle, with a driver, scaled at 5,800 pounds and the rear was 13,120 pounds for a total curb weight of 18,920 pounds. I have a net carry capacity of 480 pounds. With a 200-pound capacity remaining on the front axle that means that when I put my family on board, the front axle IS seriously overloaded. The addition of my wife, two children and the family dog take the weight beyond gvwr. no food and no clothing are on board. The fuel tank IS half empty. consumers need protection from this kind of deception and/or fraud. many lives are endangered when this kind of irresponsible manufacturing IS permitted.
Front left wheel bearings failed. Yh
Two tires blew out, michelin xrv radial 235/80r22.5. yh
Suspension springs failed, leaning on driver's side.
NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opened these reviews into vehicles including this one.
Holiday rambler admits that they inadvertently position the fuel relay in close proximity to the engine.this was discovered after reviewing chassis builder information and not the result of complaints.holiday rambler purports that their records indicate most of the motor homes affected may still be at their dealers.this would account for the absence of complaints or warranty claims.holiday rambler will conduct a safety recall to relocate the fuel relay to the frame strut of the firewall.this investigation IS closed.
