Risk and remedy
Risk
Unintended vehicle movement can increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy

Risk and remedy
Risk

Owner notification letters were mailed April 10, 2024 through October 11, 2024. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 251.
Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain model year 2010-2016 Genesis Coupe vehicles manufactured December 12, 2008, to June 11, 2016. The electrical harness connector for the front passenger seat Occupant Classification System (OCS) may dislodge when the seat is moved.
Risk and remedy
Risk
In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the passenger frontal air bag, the disconnected OCS would, by default, cause the first stage, and only the first stage, of the air bag to deploy, whether there is a child seat in the front seat and the bag should not deploy or if the crash is severe and both stages should deploy. Either scenario increases the risk of injury to the front seat occupant.
Remedy
Hyundai will notify owners, and dealers will secure the OCS connector to prevent it from disconnecting, free of charge. Parts are not currently available and a second letter will be sent to owners when parts are available. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 151.

The dealership was saying this recall was done but it was not and the problem still persists and I have the airbag/rearbelt light permanently on: **Passenger Airbag OCS Sensor (2016): A loose electrical connector under the front passenger seat can prevent the passenger airbag from deploying properly in a crash. This problem still persists as I had the car on diagnostics and they 3 codes come up for it. This needs ro be fixed ASAP as the recall did not take or was not done and falsified . I bought the car in 2016 and not so long after the lights came on but I am not too sure as to when the actually date it popped back on but I will make my best assumption of when. I took the car on and off the road because I have a truck as well so im trying to grt this taken care of as soon as I can since it might not pass inspection because the recall did not take or malfunctioning again, either one.

As I exited the freeway I shifted out of 6TH gear (70mph) and pressed the brakes taking it down to 40mph. The rpms continued to rev up to 6K and beyond. The brakes did respond, so I felt there wasn't immediate danger. I immediately pulled over to the shoulder and stopped my car by turning off the key. Turning the car back on, not in any gear, not pressing the gas, the rpms began to rev just as high again. so I turned the key off again. I decided to try again, started the car, it began revving up the rpms. I shifted into first gear to see what would happen and it began to decrease in rpm. Then it became normal. but now there IS a knocking noise in the engine when I accelerate that was not present before. it's less noticeable at 1ST and 2ND gear, but gets more pronounced from 3RD gear onward. there were no warning lights, no check engine light. I took it to firestone where they told me it's possible that the engine may need replaced. I did find there was a report of engine processing flaws that could result in a knocking noise on various news sites but nothing official. this car has only 40K~ miles. It was manufactured in 2011 as I bought it hot off the lot at 6miles on the odometer. I get regular oil changes using synthetic oil only. It's mint. No reason for this to be occurring.

The brake oil that was put into the car when made has cause the hecu to corrode. There was a recall on hyundai genesis sedans this year, if the coupes were effected too why wouldn't there be a recall? The brakes are spongey. They are unreliable and very unsafe. Brakes work when they want and are choppy

When making a turn at a low speed the car will stall leaving the power steering and brakes difficult to operate and the need to pull the car to a stop, put in park and restart while trying to avoid an accident. been to dealer twice with them unable to find any problem. multiple same stories on web about 2009 thru 2014 genesis with same problem and no solution. The tail lights get filled with water/condensation. I had one replaced under warranty but at 60,000 miles it's no longer covered and both lights are having the same problem again. it's a very common problem with genesis coupes of all years. The owner forums are filled with people having the same problem. *tr
