(Navistar) is recalling certain 2000-2001 International 4700, 2000-2002 4900, 2001-2003 8100 (TranStar) and 9100I, 2002-2003, 2005, 2007-2009, 2012-2014 and 2016-2018 DuraStar, 2012 and 2014-2017 ProStar, 2014-2015 TerraStar, and 2018 LT trucks.   Risk and remedy

  Risk

  In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.

  Remedy

  Navistar will notify owners, instructing them to notify Kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin February 9, 2018. Owners may contact Navistar customer service at 1-331-332-1590, or contact Kidde customer service toll-free at 1-855-262-3540, or online at www.kidde.com and click on "Product Safety Recall" for more information.

In certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. Only equipped with Kidde model FC5 and FC10 fire extinguishers identified by International part numbers 1696423C2 and 1696423C3 and installed post production at Navistar?s Truck Sales Processing Center (TSPC).
