These records cover every 1995 Isuzu Trooper. To see whether one car still needs a recall repair, decode its VIN or check it with NHTSA.
1 recall names the 1995 Isuzu Trooper. Newest first.
On certain sport utility vehicles, the accelerator cable can stick so that the engine speed will not immediately decrease upon release of the accelerator pedal.
This can cause the accelerator throttle cable to delay rpm and vehicle speed reduction for several seconds after the accelerator pedal IS released, which in turn, can lead to a crash.
Dealers will replace the throttle cable rubber boot. owner notification began on may 24, 2004. owners should contact isuzu at 1-800-255-6727.
Accelerated from stop and throttle stuck. was able to shut down engine and get to side of road. inspected cable and found that rubber boot on engine side of cable housing had become gummy/sticky/soft and had folded in on itself, sticking to the inner cable itself. removed boot to get home. looked online for replacement, and found that there had been a recall for exact same problem on exact same model and year, but after calling isuzu, was told that my vin was not part of the recall, though it's the same part number. obviously the recall was incomplete, and there are still cars out there which, like mine, have the same faulty speed control components. had I not known to take the car out of gear and shut down the engine, there could have easily been a crash. my wife drives my 2 year old son in this car. I ask you to please look into this issue on behalf of public safety. *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 1995 isuzu trooper. the contact noticed that the front exhaust pipe had excessive corrosion and failed. he speculated that the component failed prematurely because he resides in a salt belt state. the dealer stated that the repair would cost $1,000. the vehicle has not yet been repaired. the failure and current mileages were 90,000.
Tl*the contact owns a 1995 isuzu trooper. whenever the contact releases the accelerator pedal, it feels as if it becomes stuck for a few seconds before the vehicle begins to decelerate. the failure was noticed while driving 10 mph. she conducted research and found recall number 04v199000 (vehicle speed control: cables). she called the manufacturer and they stated that her vin was not included in the recall. the contact feels that her vehicle should be included because she IS experiencing the same failure as noted in the recall. the current mileage was 134,053 and failure mileage was 134,000.
1(A). after driving at highway speeds (above 60 mph) the ABS warning light on the instrument panel nearly always comes on. this has ocurred hundreds of times. 1(B). when driving in slippery snowy conditions, after applying the brakes the ABS computer makes a loud buzzing noise that will not stop until the electrical connection to the 4 wheel drive ABS component IS severed by either removing the negative battery cable from the battery or removing the fuse. this has ocurred many times, but only three times has it caused a loss of control where people were at risk of harm. 2. under the buzzing condition noted in 1(B) above, the ABS braking system seems to fail, with less control because the brakes lock up, and steering becomes impossible. at least three incidents have happened where the vehicle ran into the curb with no apparant damage, greatfully no other vehicles or persons were involved. each incident 1(B) has happened on weekends or at night after the dealer who services the vehicle IS closed. 3. the dealer has found no problems, stating we must bring in the vehicle with the light on or the buzzing occurring in order to locate a problem. I belive there have been recalls on other isuzu models for the same problem, but not for the model or year of our vehicle.
An integrated circuit within the voltage regulator can contain manufacturing errors. this can cause excessive electrical charging of the vehicle's alternator, resulting in engine control malfunction or eventual engine stall. *nm

I have sent firestone all that they requested me. the failed firestone tire along with a cd with all the pictures of the tire as well as two estimates to get the car fixed. the top estimate to repair the car was for $1380.00. I sent it through fed-ex with the mailing instructions on the cover of the box. you could not have received the tire with out the box because the mailing instructions were on the along with the cd and the estimates!! therefore, one of your employees had to have received the cd and the estimates with the box, which contain the failed firestone tire. you stated in your correspondence that you do not possess those documents. the only way you could not possess those documents IS if you lost them!!! because they were taped with the mailing/delivery instructions on the outside of the box!!! if the cd and the estimates were lost enroute, then the mailing/delivery instructions would have lost too because they taped together with them and you would not have received the tire either. that IS not the case as you state that you have the tire. but they were inseparable. you had to have deliberately thrown away the cd and the estimates after you took delivery of the box containing the failed firestone tire!!! I can only conclude that you are trying to deny the claim by denying that you received the evidence which I clearly sent you. had to had received both if you received one or the other. again the two or three items were inseparable. therefore, I am requesting you send me a check for $1380. 00 immediately plus the cost of the replacement tire, which I will let you figure out for yourself. send it to; [xxx]. should you need to contact me further, you may call me at [xxx]. I will send a copy of this letter to the consumer protection agency and to the bitter business bureau if you fail to comply with my request. *la information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(B)(6). *tr

The engine will stall and not idle if the vehicle IS operated for about 20 miles after a seemingly unrelated failure in the speedometer sensor. This can be a saftey hazard as it happened when I was exiting a freeway offramp and suddenly had no power steering or brakes.
Vehicle pulled to the right, I steered to the left to correct. Vehicle crossed median out of control. I corrected again to the right and the vehicle rolled over three and one half turns. there was very little left right motion necessary to cause the vehicle to tip and roll. *Ak
Premature weather striping failure shrinkage lead to air entering vehicle, making noise. Both door have same problem. Separation of molding at top corner of base of side mirror. *Ak
Check engine light came on alot & they never knew what it was, then they said it was my carbon monoxide sensor, after all those trips to the shop. *ak
While driving in parking lot at a slow rate of speed about 5MPH all of sudden steering wheel locked up and vehicle lost control. contacted dealer who repaired the thread on both sides of tie rod ends. *Ak
Immediatly after purchasing the trooper in 1995 we noticed we had to stand on the brakes to stop when going down the driveway. after repeated trips and complaints to cochran pontiac in monroeville, we were told each time there was nothing wrong. they finally replaced the brake vacuum booster hose in 4/97 and again in 6/97. this helped minimally. we took the car to be inspected 6/99 and had to replace the entire brake system at only 34200 miles. we were told by the mechanics at this independent service station that the condition of the brakes were unsafe and the system did not appear to be enough for a car of this size. isuzu's indifference to our problem has prompted this complaint.
While driving at approximately 30 mph driver hit building. Upon impact, dual airbags did not deploy, which could have caused injuries. No indictation of airbags being defective. *ak
While driving at about 70mph the rear right wheel snapped off from rim base. Dealer said that rotating the tires wears out the metal, causing them to snap. Currently, dealer IS repairing tires.
Twice in 34,000 we have replaced the control module that controls electronic locks and alarm systems.
Im upset with vehicle and was forced to pay 400 dollars for an alternator caused by oil leak problem which was never fixed correctly in the first place. in december, 1998 while under warranty I had toth buick replace the head gaskets. within a few months it was leaking oil again so I took it back in for my usual oil change and told them. the mechanic told me that it probably wasn't leaking oil, it just uses about a quart of oil every 1,000 miles. he said he would do a consumption test and walked away. well when the truck was ready to go, I asked if they did a consumption test and the lady at the service desk told me to bring it back when it runs out of oil. I thought what IS she nuts, yeah I' ll be back when the engine blows up. sure enough I was back in a month because the oil leak caused my alternator to short out. they agreed to fix the oil leak problem again since they never fixed it in the first place. this time I needed a valve gasket cover. however, they said I would have to pay for the ruined alternator. so I told them to. *Ak
Manual transmission failure - one at 200 miles and second failure at 67,543 miles. *ak
