I own a 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQB 300 4MATIC. My vehicle has multiple unresolved high-voltage battery safety recalls. Recall 25V050/MBUSA campaign 2025040005 concerns a potential internal battery-cell short circuit and fire risk. I had the BMS software update performed, but Mercedes later issued recall 26V073 because the software remedy was not considered sufficient for all affected vehicles. Recall 26V073 requires complete high-voltage battery replacement. Until that repair is completed, Mercedes instructs owners to park outside and away from structures and limit charging to 80%. My vehicle also shows recall 25V487/MBUSA campaign 2025070009 as pending. This recall concerns a battery busbar connection that could cause sudden loss of propulsion without warning, increasing the risk of a crash. Despite the ongoing fire-risk and loss-of-propulsion concerns, I have not been provided a firm, VIN-specific date for the battery replacement. The safety restrictions significantly limit my ability to use and safely park the vehicle. I am concerned that the permanent remedy remains unavailable while I continue to make lease payments.

I am the owner of a 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQB that has been identified as being affected by the current high-voltage battery safety recall. I recently contacted my authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer regarding the recall and was informed that the recall is currently pending for my vehicle and that the permanent remedy is not expected to begin until approximately December. I understand that the interim safety guidance associated with this recall includes limiting charging to 80% and parking the vehicle outside and away from structures. I have a significant concern regarding the parking instruction. My vehicle is normally parked in an attached garage at my condominium. The garage is connected to my residence, and my HOA does not permit me to park the vehicle outside. Therefore, I do not have a practical way to comply with the instruction to park outside and away from structures. I specifically raised this issue with the service department. I was told verbally that I could continue parking the vehicle in my garage “at my discretion.”

The affected component is the high-voltage traction battery and related battery management and bus-bar connection systems. My vehicle is available for inspection upon request. I am reporting a safety concern because my vehicle is subject to NHTSA Recall 25V050, which identifies a risk that the high-voltage battery could fail internally and cause a fire while parked or driving. It is also subject to NHTSA Recall 25V487, which identifies a defect involving the high-voltage battery bus-bar connection that may cause a sudden loss of drive power without warning. A battery fire could endanger vehicle occupants and people or property near a parked vehicle. A sudden loss of propulsion while driving could increase the risk of a crash. I have not personally experienced a vehicle fire or a sudden loss of drive power. However, I am being asked to continue operating and making lease payments on a vehicle with identified high-voltage battery safety defects and no completed effective remedy available for my vehicle. The currently available guidance limits charging to 80%, which reduces the vehicle’s usable range and practical value. The vehicle’s recall status has been confirmed through NHTSA and Mercedes-Benz recall information. To my knowledge, no dealer repair has been completed that eliminates these safety concerns. The vehicle has not been inspected by police, insurance representatives, or an independent service center in connection with an incident because no crash, fire, or loss-of-power event has occurred. Before any failure, I have not observed a warning lamp, warning message, or other battery-related symptom. My concern is that Recall 25V487 describes a potential sudden loss of drive power without warning, and Recall 25V050 identifies a potential battery-fire risk, including while the vehicle is parked.

Vehicle: 2023 Mercedes‑Benz EQB VIN: [XXX] MBUSA Case #: XXX NHTSA Recall #: 26V073000 Mercedes‑Benz USA has mishandled recall 26V073000 (fire hazard) and left me without transportation. I was told the vehicle is unsafe to drive, which has caused significant anxiety, panic attacks, and ongoing stress because I have no safe way to commute or manage daily responsibilities. MBUSA repeatedly promised a loaner vehicle, but the dealership stated they were never contacted, had no instructions, and had no loaner available. MBUSA later said I could receive a rental car “upon eligible dealership,” but they did not specify which dealership, and after calling multiple Mercedes‑Benz locations, all confirmed they had no information, no authorization, and no process for rental reimbursement or recall support. MBUSA has provided conflicting and misleading information, failed to coordinate with dealerships, and failed to provide transportation during a fire‑hazard recall. This has caused loss of use, mental distress, and safety exposure. I request investigation into MBUSA for failure to properly administer recall 26V073000, failure to provide transportation during a safety recall, and misrepresentation of recall remedies. There is a recall associated with this model that causes catastrophic stoppage without any ability to drive. My vehicle VIN does not have a recall according to your site. Despite this, my vehicle catastrophically stopped multiple times. It was repaired at least three times and still stopped in the middle of the highway. My partner and I were stopped on I-85S with no ability to move, honk, put on hazards. Cars zoomed past at full speed. I called 911 as we braced for impact. We are lucky to be alive and now suffer from severe trauma. They eventually closed the entire highway and dragged the vehicle to the shoulder almost 30 min later. Mbusa was aware of this defect before rejecting my lemon law claim, but my vehicle was not included apparently. I feel more investigation is needed because it seems very likely my vehicle should be included in the recall. I appreciate your attention to this matter.

My 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQB is included in the high-voltage battery fire recall (NHTSA campaign 26V073). The recall states the battery cells may fail internally at a high state of charge, causing an internal short circuit and a potential fire whether the vehicle is parked or being driven, with no advance warning while parked. As interim safety measures, Mercedes-Benz instructed me to limit charging to 80% and to park the vehicle outdoors, away from structures. These restrictions materially impair the vehicle's use: I cannot charge to full capacity and cannot park in my garage due to the fire risk to my home. The permanent remedy is replacement of the high-voltage battery pack. However, my Mercedes-Benz dealer has informed me that the replacement parts will not be available until 2027. That means I am being asked to operate a vehicle with an acknowledged fire risk, under charging and parking restrictions, for roughly 18 months or more, with no remedy currently available. I am requesting that NHTSA document this lack of an available remedy and the extended timeline. A delay of this length leaves owners exposed to the safety defect the recall was issued to address.

I am reporting a significant safety concern regarding my 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQB. While my specific VIN has not been included in the current high-voltage battery fire risk recall (NHTSA Campaign 26V073000), my vehicle is a 2023 model that shares the identical high-voltage battery architecture, manufacturing window, and platform design as the approximately 12,000 EQB vehicles officially recalled due to an internal defect that causes sudden, unpredictable battery fires. As a vehicle owner, I am now experiencing deep, well-founded anxiety regarding the safety of this vehicle. Due to the proximity of my vehicle's design to those definitively identified as defective, I have lost confidence in the vehicle's safe operation. I can no longer park this vehicle in an enclosed garage or charge it with confidence, effectively limiting my ability to utilize the vehicle as intended. I am filing this report to formally document my concern that this safety defect may be more widespread than the current recall population suggests, posing an unreasonable risk to the safety of myself and the public.

MB recall is since Feb 2026 and they neither ready to fix it not ready to provide a proper compensation . The vehicle is currently unusable for the following reasons: 1. Safety Catch-22 (Fire vs. Theft): Due to the fire hazard associated with the current battery recall, I cannot safely charge or store the vehicle in my garage. However, the local Township Police have explicitly advised against keeping the car outside due to high theft risks in the area. Mercedes-Benz has essentially provided a vehicle that is neither safe to keep indoors nor secure to keep outdoors. 2. Home Charging Restrictions: I typically charge the vehicle at night; however, the current recall guidelines necessitate monitoring the charge to ensure it does not exceed 80%. I have no practical way to monitor this throughout the night, making home charging a safety liability. Public Infrastructure Failure: The EVgo charging network has blocked the Mercedes-Benz EQB model from their network due to these safety concerns. This further eliminates my ability to use the vehicle for standard commuting or travel. 3. Lack of Support and Loaner Access: Despite these documented safety risks, my local Mercedes-Benz dealer has refused to provide a loaner vehicle, stating they are awaiting specific instructions from corporate. This leaves me without a safe mode of transportation while I continue to pay for a vehicle I cannot use. 4. Financial Loss: I am currently paying monthly insurance premiums of approx $300, car payments of $529, and have recently invested in new tires for a vehicle (~$1200) that is sitting idle. I am incurring the full cost of ownership for a product that fails to meet basic safety and utility standards. I need NHTSA to help me here as MB is not able to honor its federal mandate

I received an Important Safety Recall notice (NHTSA Recall ID: 26V073) from Mercedes-Benz USA in March 2026 regarding my 2024 EQB (VIN: [XXX] ). The notice states that the high-voltage battery may fail due to an internal short circuit, potentially causing a vehicle fire while parked or driving. No incident has occurred. This complaint is filed because no remedy is available and no timeline has been provided by the manufacturer. Mercedes-Benz has advised owners to limit charging to 80% and to park outside while awaiting battery replacement parts. This interim guidance creates an additional hardship: my vehicle is garaged in ZIP code 98119 (Seattle, WA), where property crime is documented at over 50% above the national average. The manufacturer's guidance forces me to expose a $55,000+ vehicle to elevated theft and vandalism risk indefinitely, through no fault of my own. I am requesting NHTSA pressure Mercedes-Benz to accelerate parts availability and provide affected owners with a loaner vehicle or covered parking reimbursement until the remedy is performed. I am requesting that my 2023 Mercedes‑Benz EQB be added to the recall associated with high‑voltage battery safety issues. My vehicle is exhibiting the same symptoms described in NHTSA Recall No. 26V073000, but my VIN is not currently included. I was instructed not to fully charge the vehicle and warned that it may pose a fire hazard if parked inside my garage. These warnings indicate a serious safety defect involving the high‑voltage battery system. The vehicle cannot be safely stored at my residence, and its normal operation is substantially impaired. The safety risk is significant: the vehicle may overheat or catch fire during charging or while parked. This creates a danger to occupants, nearby structures, and the public. The problem has been acknowledged by the manufacturer in communications but no permanent repair is available. The symptoms and restrictions match those described in the existing recall. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate and determine whether my vehicle should be added to the affected VIN list, as it appears to suffer from the same high‑voltage battery defect and presents the same safety hazards.

I received an official recall notice from Mercedes-Benz regarding my EQB due to a defect involving the high-voltage battery system. According to the recall notice, the battery may experience an internal failure that could potentially result in a fire while the vehicle is either parked or being driven. Mercedes-Benz has also advised owners to limit charging and park the vehicle outside due to the severity of the safety risk. At this time, Mercedes-Benz has not provided a permanent repair remedy or battery replacement. Because I no longer feel safe driving or storing the vehicle, I have left it at the dealership and am currently using a loaner vehicle while attempting to reach a fair and reasonable resolution with Mercedes-Benz. Given the serious safety concerns associated with this recall and the lack of an available repair, I do not believe the current offer being presented by Mercedes-Benz adequately resolves the situation. During my first conversation with Mercedes, I was clearly told that I had two options: trade into another lease or have Mercedes repurchase the vehicle at no cost to me. At no point during that initial conversation was I told that repurchase was unlikely or subject to higher-level approval. $7,500 does not address the core issue, which is that I am still left in a lease for a vehicle I do not feel safe driving or storing. This is fundamentally a safety and usability issue, not simply a financial inconvenience. I am simply asking Mercedes to stand behind its product and provide a reasonable resolution for a leased vehicle that has been deemed subject to a serious fire-risk recall without a current repair remedy.

Compounded Electrical Failures In addition to the battery defect, this specific vehicle has exhibited recurring electrical malfunctions, including: Total failure of the backup cameras and parking sensors. Intermittent failure of the HVAC system (Air Conditioning), critical in the Florida climate. Erratic Autonomous Braking: The vehicle has repeatedly engaged emergency braking while reversing without cause, nearly resulting in multiple collisions. Diminished Utility and Breach of Lease Expectations The "interim" instructions provided by Mercedes-Benz have fundamentally altered the vehicle’s functionality from the terms established at the start of my lease: Charge Limitation: The "MUST NOT exceed 80%" mandate reduces the vehicle's range and utility, failing to meet the deliverable of a fully functional EV. Parking Restrictions: The requirement to park outside for fear of a garage fire is an unreasonable burden that violates the expected use of a luxury vehicle. Failure to Remedy within a Reasonable Time (49 U.S.C. § 30120) Under the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act, specifically 49 U.S.C. § 30120(c)(2), a manufacturer’s failure to remedy a defect within 60 days of a vehicle being presented or a notice being issued constitutes prima facie evidence of a failure to remedy within a reasonable time. The notice for Recall 26V073 was issued in March 2026. As of today, May 11, 2026, more than 60 days have passed without an actionable remedy or a definitive timeline for repair. There have been ZERO warnings or indications of the above mentioned.

Dear NHTSA Safety Team, I am submitting a formal safety-related complaint regarding my 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQB 250, which is currently under an active high-voltage battery recall. The recall imposes significant safety restrictions, including an 80% charging limit, a requirement to park the vehicle outside due to fire risk, and the inability to safely charge the vehicle at home. Additionally, I have been advised by my dealership that DC fast charging should not be used, further limiting the vehicle’s usability. Mercedes-Benz has informed me that the remedy requires a full high-voltage battery replacement, which may take many months (until at least December). In the meantime, the vehicle is not usable as a daily vehicle due to the combined safety and charging restrictions. I have attempted to work with Mercedes-Benz USA to obtain an appropriate remedy for this loss of use, but I have been told that only minimal options are available, and my request for executive-level review has been denied. I am requesting NHTSA’s assistance in reviewing this matter as a safety-related loss-of-use issue. The current restrictions materially affect my ability to safely operate and maintain the vehicle. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Sincerely, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

COMPONENT/SYSTEM: High-voltage battery system (traction battery). The vehicle is subject to a manufacturer recall for risk of internal short circuit and potential thermal event. The vehicle and battery are available for inspection upon request. SAFETY RISK: According to the manufacturer and dealer, the defect presents a risk of battery fire, including while the vehicle is parked and not in operation. As a result, the manufacturer has instructed safety precautions, including limiting charging to no more than 80% and parking the vehicle outdoors and away from structures. These precautions materially limit driving range and require the vehicle to be parked away from the residence, which increases risk exposure to occupants, visitors, and surrounding property. REPRODUCTION/CONFIRMATION: The defect has been confirmed by the manufacturer through a formal recall applicable to this vehicle. The dealer has acknowledged the recall and the associated safety instructions. INSPECTIONS: There has been no individualized inspection specific to this vehicle because the issue is a known, manufacturer-identified defect affecting recalled vehicles of this model. The condition and risk have been acknowledged by both the manufacturer and dealer. WARNINGS/SYMPTOMS: There were no prior warning lights, messages, or observable symptoms before receiving notice of the recall. The safety issue was not detectable to the driver absent the manufacturer’s notification. REPAIR STATUS/TIMING: The manufacturer has advised that replacement batteries are not expected to be available for several months (estimated beginning December 2026 or later). In the interim, the vehicle must continue to be operated under the above safety restrictions, while customer must still bear the known, significant risk of fire until then.

The high-voltage battery cells in my vehicle, supplied by Farasis Energy, are prone to internal short circuits that can cause thermal runaway and vehicle fire. This defect poses a serious risk of fire while the vehicle is parked or in operation. Mercedes-Benz USA has acknowledged this defect through three separate recall campaigns (25V050, 25V894, and 26V073). The first two remedies — software updates — failed to prevent fires, including post-repair fires reported in Europe. Mercedes-Benz subsequently committed to full battery replacement as the only effective fix, but has not made repair scheduling available until approximately December 30, 2026. In the interim, Mercedes-Benz has instructed owners to: (1) park and charge exclusively outdoors, (2) limit charging to 80% of battery capacity. These extraordinary restrictions confirm that the vehicle remains a fire risk and is currently unfit for safe normal use.

I am writing to formally notify the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that Mercedes-Benz USA has failed to remedy a known safety defect within a reasonable amount of time, pursuant to 49 U.S.C. § 30120. This notification is submitted in relation to the recall issued under the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act regarding the high-voltage battery cells in the 2023 EQB. The manufacturer has acknowledged that an internal short circuit within the battery cells may lead to a vehicle fire while driving or parked. Despite this, a timely and effective remedy has not been provided, leaving me to manage the following severe burdens: • Safety and Psychological Distress: Every time I operate this vehicle, I experience significant anxiety. My primary concern is the safety of my grandchildren; I am constantly haunted by the question of whether I could safely extricate them from the vehicle should it ignite while in motion. • Property and Liability Concerns: I am currently forced to park the vehicle away from other cars and structures to mitigate the risk of a conflagration. I am deeply concerned about my legal and financial obligations should the vehicle ignite and cause damage to third-party property or result in personal injury. • Diminished Performance: The vehicle currently exhibits a decreased mileage range, failing to meet the performance specifications promised at the time of lease. • Breach of Lease Terms: I am required to make full monthly lease payments as per my agreement. However, Mercedes-Benz is failing to uphold their portion of the contract by providing a vehicle that is safe, functional, and fit for its intended purpose. I request that the NHTSA investigate Mercedes-Benz’s delay in providing a definitive remedy and hold the manufacturer accountable for the loss of use and the inherent dangers posed by this defect. A car that "potentially could ignite into flames" at any moment is not a "remedied" vehicle under the law.

I was informed of this recall fire risk. And I contacted Mercedes dealership where I got the car. And they informed me that the battery is not available at this time. And to park the vehicle outside. I can’t do this because my charging port is located inside my garage. This is not a safe and the dealership won’t do anything about it.

I am reporting a safety concern regarding my 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQB 300 (VIN: [XXX] ), currently subject to NHTSA Recall 26V073 involving the high-voltage battery. According to NHTSA records and the manufacturer’s recall notice, this vehicle has an urgent safety recall due to a risk of fire caused by a potential internal short circuit in the high-voltage battery. The defect may result in a vehicle fire while driving or parked. The recall was issued around February 9, 2026, and remains unrepaired with no remedy available. The manufacturer has indicated a permanent repair may not be available until approximately December 2026. I have been instructed to limit charging to 80% and to park the vehicle outside due to fire risk, yet I am still expected to operate the vehicle and transport my family. Additionally, I received third-party notification advising that my vehicle should not use DC fast charging due to this safety risk, significantly limiting normal use. Mercedes-Benz USA offered a monetary payment conditioned on waiving all current and future legal rights while the vehicle remains unrepaired. I have not been provided a guaranteed loaner or replacement vehicle, and the dealership has requested return of the loaner. Due to these limitations, I am incurring and expect additional costs and loss of normal vehicle use, including reduced access to charging benefits and potential fuel or charging expenses. This situation requires continued use of a vehicle with a known fire risk, no remedy, and restricted functionality without reliable alternative transportation. I request this be documented as a safety concern involving the defect, delayed remedy, and limitations on safe and normal vehicle operation. • 11010907Complaint The flap of the reversing camera opens and closes by itself during forward travel. This happens several times during the trip. The customer notices the sound of opening and closing. No camera image is displayed in the head unit. The reversing camera or the 360 system functions normally when activated manually or by engaging drive range "R". This behavior occurs again during each driving cycle. Cause This is not a malfunction, but an intended system behavior: Calibration of the reversing camera is in progress. For this, the cover on the camera is opened for max. 5 cumulative minutes in forward travel. The calibration can be performed if the vehicle speed is < 35 km/h and the steering wheel angle is < 10 (for early vehicles from MFA2 facelift model series such as A-Class, CLA, etc., the 35 km/h (~22 MPH) opening limit may only be reached after the SCN coding is replaced). If the speed of 35 km/h (~22 MPH) is exceeded, the camera retracts and the calibration is therefore aborted. The sequence is started again once the speed returns to the range of 18 km/h (~11 MPH). Remedy Complete the calibration successfully. For this, the vehicle must be driven forwards for a certain time (usually significantly less than one minute) at a speed < 35 km/h (~22 MPH) and a steering wheel angle < 10. This should occur during daylight and without a vehicle following too closely (the camera must be able to see the asphalt). When calibration is successful, the camera flap closes automatically at an unchanged speed. For the rest of the driving cycle, the camera now only opens if the customer requests this, for example by applying the reverse gear. When starting a new driving cycle (ignition change), another calibration is required. The customer can generally perform calibration at the first attempt when a speed in the range between 15 km/h (~9 MPH) and 35 km/h (~22 MPH) is briefly maintained and can therefore play a significant role in reducing the actuation frequency and therefore also the noticeability of the noise to a minimum. In the case of early MFA2 facelift vehicles (A-Class, CLA, etc.), the parking control unit may have to be SCN-coded again to have the complete speed window available for the calibration.

• 11007974Complaint Headlamps leaking or fogged Cause The fogging of the headlamp is a natural phenomenon which can occur under certain climatic conditions. In contrast to a leaky headlamp, physical fogging does not result in a technical impairment of the headlamp. A leak test must be performed to determine if physical fogging exists or if the headlamp is leaky. Remedy In advance, observe LI82.10-P-078301 "Headlamps or Front Fog Lamps Leaking or Fogged". 1. Prepare headlamp/check for external damage: For headlamps with a closed system 1. Check the headlamps for any external damage and check also for correct seating of the Gore-diaphragm/correct latching of the cover caps. 2. If the headlamp exhibits any external damage, replace the headlamp. For headlamps with an open system 1. Check the headlamps for any external damage and seal off the vent then make sure the cover caps are latched correctly into place. 2. If the headlamp exhibits any external damage, replace the headlamp. Note: A headlamp with external damage is not a warranty or goodwill case. 2. Leak test of headlamp with overpressure: Connect test adapter to pressure tester. (Figure 1) Check test adapter for leak tightness. To do so, connect plug and coupling (picture 2) and apply a maximum overpressure of 30 mbar. The pressure must remain constant. If the pressure does not remain constant, use a new adapter. Seal all the outlet openings using sealing compound and the given diaphragm with the plunger (picture 3). (Picture 4) Make allowance for the different headlamp variants here (there are different outlet openings). Check if the headlamp needs to be removed to gain access to the diagnostic socket on the headlamp housing. Plug the adapter onto the diagnostic socket on the headlamp housing. (Picture 5). Apply a maximum of 30 mbar overpressure to the headlamp housing. Note: If the maximum overpressure of 50 mbar is exceeded the headlamp seal will be damaged. If a pressure drop of less than 10 mbar is measured within 30 seconds, the headlamp is not leaky and the problem is down to natural physical fogging. If a pressure drop of more than 10 mbar is measured within 30 seconds, the headlamp is leaky. Note: The leaky position can be localized with the aid of soap suds. Replace any leaky headlamps. Note: Desiccant packs can be installed for headlamps that are not leaky. See: LI82.10-P-064766 Fogged headlamp, desiccant pack installed - open ventilation system LI82.10-P-078304 Fogged headlamp, desiccant pack installed - closed ventilation system

• 11007790Complaint Headlamps fogged or droplets forming. Cause Due to the housing cover with pressure compensation diaphragm, the headlamps are a "closed system". This means that the headlamps are protected against acid gases, dirt and exhaust gas. However, moisture can still enter from two sources. Through absorption and desorption (the commonest cause) or through permeation. Moisture is either absorbed by the plastic material and, when the light source is switched on, it is released from the plastic by desorption, or the moisture penetrates through the plastic materials of the headlamp from outside (permeation). This can lead to the formation of condensation on the lens of the headlamp. The headlamps comply with all applicable US standards and regulations. Remedy Check headlamps for natural fogging or condensation as per LI82.10-P-078301. If a reduction in the degree of fogging is visible, the desiccant packs can be used once the condensation has completely evaporated. Note: Order service covers and desiccant packs based on the validity description. 1. Remove existing service cover with diaphragm (Picture_01 (1)). 2. Insert desiccant packs (Picture_01 (2)) into new service covers with diaphragm and seal with protective grille and bolt down (Picture_01 (3)). Note: One desiccant pack is required for each small service cover, and two desiccant packs are required for each large service cover. 3. Stick the supplied diaphragm onto the new service cover and attach at the headlamp. Note: The bonding surface must be clean and dry. 4. If the headlamp housing has an additional 2nd diaphragm, this must be covered over with masking tape. Note: The bonding surface must be clean and dry. To ensure that the desiccant pack (absorption) acts effectively, the headlamp has to be air-sealed. Observe or check the following points for this: 1. Seals at the central connector must all be present and correctly fitted (Picture_02). 2. The new transparent diaphragm must be correctly bonded (Picture_03). 3. Check headlamp housing for any external damage.
• 11007753Complaint Headlamp or front fog lamp leaky or fogged Cause Fogging of the headlamps is a natural phenomenon, which can occur under certain climatic conditions. It does not lead to any technical impairment of the headlamp. Headlamps comply with all applicable standards. If a pressure compensation diaphragm is fitted in the housing cover, then the lamp unit is a "closed system". Remedy Headlamp: Remedy 1 Clearing fogged/condensed LED headlamps and LED rear lamps: 1. Drive vehicle into workshop (temperature higher than +18 C/+64.4 F) and connect the exhaust extraction. Note: Do not perform an engine wash before the defogging test. 2. Switch off the engine and connect battery support via a charger. 3. Open the hood or trunk. 4. Switch on the lights. 5. Leave the vehicle in this state for 60 minutes. 6. Check for formation of condensation, a significant reduction in the formation of condensation must be clearly recognizable (thawing progress). Clearing fogged/condensed halogen/xenon headlamps: 1. Drive the vehicle into the workshop (temperature higher than +18 C/+64.4F). Note: Do not perform an engine wash before the defogging test. 2. Switch off the engine. 3. Open the hood. 4. Switch off the lights. 5. Leave the vehicle in this state for 60 minutes. 6. Check for formation of condensation, a significant reduction in the formation of condensation must be clearly recognizable (thawing progress). Note: If there is no visible reduction in the formation of condensation, check the headlamp for a defect. (See Remedy 2) It is not physically possible to defog the headlamps completely. Fogging does not impair the operation or the service life of the headlamp. Remedy 2 A Damaged headlamp can be identified as follows: 1. Check the headlamp for external damage and that the cover caps and the diaphragm are correctly seated. 2. Check the electrical connectors of the plugs and pins. 3. Check for leak tightness in accordance with LI82.10-P-078307. The test can only be conducted on headlamps. 4. If the headlamp or the rear lamp has any external damage, replace the component part in accordance with the WIS instructions. Note: External damage to the headlamp/rear lamp or faulty seating of the cover caps does not present a warranty or goodwill case. With headlamps, it is possible to install desiccant packs if the problem occurs repeatedly. Open ventilation system: LI82.10-P-064766. Closed ventilation system LI82.10-P-078304

• 11007673Complaint Damage or discoloration to paint protection films on vehicle. Cause Chip protection films are a wear item that may need to be replaced over the life of the vehicle. They are typically not covered by vehicle warranty. Remedy To properly install a paint/chip protection film, please follow the below guidelines: #1 - Utilize a solution that is 0.2% soap solution (1,000ml of water + 2ml of liquid soap). #2 - Clean the paint surface and ensure it is dust-free. #2a - When cleaning, you can utilize isopropyl alcohol (Rubbing Alcohol) to assist with cleaning. #2b - We recommend a lint-free rag for secondary dusting. #3 - Wet hands with the soapy water solution to protect the adhesive surface. #4 - Remove the backing paper from the film completely. #5 - Moisten the vehicle surface with the soapy water. You can also lay the protective film with adhesive side out onto the wetted surface to also cover the adhesive layer in the soapy water solution. #6 - Remove film and flip over to gently place adhesive side against the paint surface. #7 - Working from the center out, use a squeegee to press the soapy water solution out from under the film. Use sufficient pressure to firmly press the film into the paint surface, but not an excessive amount to damage or stretch the film. #8 - Allow film and paint to "cure" until all of the moisture has evaporated. At this time the adhesive should be dried and cured enough for sufficient hold to release the vehicle.

Note the fault frequency of fault codes set. Delete the N179 and N62/4 fault memory. Using both hands, "scan" the steering wheel all the way round, including the chrome molding at 6 o'clock (see Picture 1). Read out fault memory and follow steps below for any faults set. Remedy: Vehicles with control unit N179 - Hand detection system (HE): B1E7614: Check contacts and wiring harness in steering wheel by carrying out a visual check for damage, pinched areas, loose connections, etc. (examples in Figs. 2 and 3); If no damage is noted replace the N135 - Steering wheel electronics (LRE) and reassess. If fault code returns replace the steering wheel. Please check the wires and connections in the steering wheel. Afterwards, please check whether the complaint is caused by over torqued screws on steering wheel trim pieces. To do this, please loosen the screws slightly and reevaluate the situation. (Picture 4). P164456: Perform SCN coding. P1CA000: Perform an initial start-up on the N179 hand detection control unit. Faults in N62/4 - Driver assistance system (SG-FAS) control unit with U186B29, U0429E0, U042941, U042929, U042902, U0429E1: If no fault is stored in the N179 control unit: Scan steering wheel as indicated in the test procedure and check whether the fault is reproducible. If no fault code is stored in the hand detection control unit, the fault codes in the driver assistance systems control unit are precautionary messages. Software for the N62/4 - Driver assistance system (SG-FAS) is in preparation to reduce erroneous messages in the driver display.

• 10249495Noises in the steering column area when steering. Under analysis. Check which area of the steering column the noises occur in. Do the noises tend to occur at the bottom in the driver footwell or do they tend to occur in the area of the steering column switch module (MRSM/SCCM)? If the noises occur in the area of the MRSM/SCCM, work through the following points: - Loosen screws of the MRSM/SCCM and steering wheel, re-align the MRSM/SCCM, and re-fasten the screws (see WIS). Sometimes there is stress at the MRSM/SCCM and noises occur. - If noises continue to occur, swap the MRSM/SCCM into a vehicle without any (noise) complaints. - If the noises occur with the MRSM/SCCM complained about when it is in the vehicle without a complaint (donor vehicle), the MRSM/SCCM can be replaced. - If noises also occur in the customer vehicle with the MRSM/SCCM from the reference vehicle, the MRSM/SCCM is not the cause and must not be replaced. Notes: - When installing the MRSM/SCCM, make sure that no damage occurs! - Only disassemble and mount all component parts in the "straight-ahead position" (see also WIS). - Please refer to this LI in the "Notes" section of the warranty claim!
