10151236Hissing noise from speakers when radio volume is turned down. There is an audible hissing noise from the speakers when there is no active audio source. This noise is most apparent with the engine and climate system fan turned off. Software in the HK HiFi amplifier.
10151235Sporadic Failure of Different Audio Channels. Intermittently, different speakers may be inoperative during an entire drive cycle until the vehicle enters sleep mode and the vehicle is restarted. CAUSE Shut-down of output circuit(s) from pressure variations caused by door shutting during diagnostic self-test. After unlocking the vehicle the Harman/Kardon (HK) Amplifier goes into a speaker self-test mode. If a door is slammed during this self-test vibrating the speaker cone, the HK amplifier may interpret the changing resistance of the speaker as a circuit failure. The HK Amplifier will then go into protection mode and turn off the output transistor(s) for the particular speaker(s) until the next selftest which is performed after the next sleep cycle.
10151234The voice input system (SVS) has not been activated. The audio head unit has a coding error.
10151233NBT and Entry Head Unit Software Update for Improved Satellite Radio Reception. Poor Satellite Radio reception CAUSE After this software update there is a slight improvement in Satellite Radio reception for these vehicles when receiving their signal from XM Satellites. This is due to the changeover from Sirius Satellite broadcasting to XM Satellite broadcasting in 2016 (See SI M65 01 16).
10151232False Alarms of the Anti-Theft Alarm System. The alarm (DWA) siren continues to activate after locking vehicle A device is connected to the On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) port of the vehicle. This keeps the Ethernet communication line active which triggers the alarm when the vehicle tries to enter sleep mode.
10151231"Air Conditioning Refrigerant R1234yf Introduction. INFORMATION Highlights of R-1234yf Meets SAE J2888_201301 ""This SAE Standard covers fittings, couplers, and hoses intended for connecting service hoses from mobile air- conditioning Systems to service equipment such as charging, recovery and recycling equipment"". New tools and equipment are required. To service vehicles equipped with R-1234yf refer to SI M04 01 16. Air conditioning technician certification is required to work on system. Refer to your State Law. Unique low and high side fittings. Revised evaporator core as per SAE J2842. System will use about 5% more refrigerant than a comparable R134a system. System oil is a specific PAG oil. Refer to ISTA repair recommendation. Do not interchange components between systems using other refrigerants. Do not reuse Seals / O-ring material from another system. The system piping has internal heat exchangers (IHX or IWT). SAFETY INFORMATION Several precautions need to be observed when working on automotive air conditioning systems: Always wear eye protection and gloves while handling refrigerant or servicing air conditioning system. Avoid breathing R1234yf lubricant vapor or mist. Use only approved service equipment to discharge A/C systems. If refrigerant or compressor oil contacts the skin or eyes, large quantities of cool water should be used to flush the affected area. Never heat a refrigerant container with an open flame. Keep all refrigerant away from open flames. Under no circumstances should R1234yf service equipment or vehicle A/C systems be pressure tested or leak tested with air/R1234yf mixtures. NOTE: The use of compressed air (shop air) for leak detection in an R1234yf system can contaminate the system and/or refrigerant with moisture. Leak detection equipment that meets the SAE J2791 standard will work with R1234yf Never use fittings for an R12 or R134a system on an R1234yf system. Any difficulty in connecting service equipment may be an indication of ref
10151230Water Ingress In Footwell Area From A/C Condensate Drain. Customer complains of musty odor and/or damp front footwell carpet. CAUSE The A/C condensate drain hose is either blocked by the heatshield or not attached properly to the the housing.
10151227"This Service Information bulletin supersedes SI M12 12 14 dated September 2014. SUBJECT VANOS Faults Stored in DME (Bosch). The Service Engine Soon (MIL) is on and the engine could go into a reduced power mode with the ""Drivetrain Malfunction"" message displayed. One or more of the VANOS faults (listed in the attachment) are stored in the DME, although the engine is mechanically sound and no unusual noises can be heard from the VANOS area. Due to unfavorable Engine Position Management (EPM) parameters in the DME software, various VANOS control faults could be set. These control faults relate to implausible camshaft position (intake or exhaust), the camshaft stuck situation, or the camshaft angle offset to crankshaft outside the tolerance range."
10151226Engine will not Start (No Crank). The engine will not crank or the engine loses power while driving, followed by a no crank situation. There is no communication with the DME when diagnosing with ISTA (DME is yellow on control unit tree). In certain instances, the startup of the turbocharger coolant pump can exceed the 5A rating of Fuse 83.

10147117HU-H Headunit: Navigation System Road Map Usage. INFORMATION For the US market, all vehicles come pre-loaded from the factory with the latest navigation system road map database version that was available at the time of vehicle production. Therefore, there will be no physical copy of the navigation system road map data media DVD set or USB stick placed in these vehicles at the Vehicle Distribution Center (VDC). NOTE: Additionally, all replacement HU-H parts come with a pre-loaded version of the current available navigation system road map database installed. A set of DVD copies of the navigation system road map database, HU-H NAVI Road Map North America NEXT, is shipped to all MINI dealers through the automatic tool shipment program with each release of a navigation system road map database. IMPORTANT: Additional copies or earlier NAV road map database versions cannot be ordered individually! Therefore, please take special care to archive the HU-H NAV road map DVD sets! The NAV road map data on the DVD set can also be installed into the Network Attached Storage (NAS). From there, it can then be installed onto the HU-H in the vehicle, using the Integrated Service Technical Application for Programming (ISTA/P). For installation of the navigation system road map data media DVD set into the Network Attached Storage (NAS), please contact your ISPI NEXT Administrator. In addition to this procedure, it is also possible to download the NAV road map data on the DVD set directly onto the hard disc drive (HDD) integrated into the HU-H by inserting the DVDs one by one into the HU-H internal DVD drive. It will take approximately 2 to 2.5 hours to download the entire database. Please note that the HU-H NAV road map DVD set is for workshop use only, and is not to be left in customers' vehicles.
