Mitsubishi IS recalling 120,000 my 2004-2006 endeavor passenger vehicles. during vehicle use, the ignition key interlock cable (which IS a component of the interlock system) may allow the interlocking cam to fall forward and allow the ignition key to be removed from the ignition switch when the gearshift mechanism IS not in the park position.
If the driver does not shift to park before removing the key and fails to engage the parking brake, the vehicle could roll and a crash could occur.
Dealers will inspect and correct these vehicles for the reported condition. the recall will begin on july 7, 2008. owners may contact mitsubishi at 1-888-648-7820.
On certain sport utility vehicles, the parking brake pedal cable lock nut may not have been tightened to the proper torque specification. the lock nut may loosen and come off, which will reduce the effectiveness of the parking brake.
This condition could allow the vehicle to roll if the transmission IS not placed into the "park" position and the vehicle IS parked on a slope, thus raising the possibility of a crash.
Dealers will inspect and tighten the parking brake cable lock nut, if necessary free of charge. the recall began february 24, 2005. owners may contact mitsubishi at 1-800-222-5500.
Certain passenger vehicles fail to conform to the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 208, 'occupant crash protection.' the bilingual english/spanish removable air bag warning labels affixed to the dash and to the sunvisor do not meet the size requirements of the standard.

On certain vehicles, the foot of the driver's side seat riser may develop a crack, resulting in reduced strength of the seat anchorage.
In the event of a crash, the seat could become detached, increasing the risk of occupant injury.
Dealers will inspect the driver's seat bracket to determine whether it requires replacement. if so, the dealer will replace it with a new, improved part. the recall began on july 26, 2004. owners should contact mitsubishi at 1-888-648-7820.
Certain sport utility vehicles may have been equipped with dealer-installed trailer hitch wiring harness and control module. the electronic control module can overheat.

Owners are being requested to stop using the harness until a newly designed replacement IS provided and can be installed by the dealer. the recall began on may 28, 2004. owners should contact mitsubishi at 1-888-648-7820.
,am writing regarding a severe safety issue at the [XXX] Mitsubishi location. Over a month ago, I brought my 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor in for an open federal safety recall regarding a fuel leak (NHTSA Recall 10V065000). I was sent away without a safe vehicle while parts were 'ordered.'Five days ago, the new service manager promised a callback the next day. I was ghosted. Today, I attempted to follow up on my parts status, and it appears the service desk has blocked my phone number. I am currently operating a vehicle that actively leaks raw gasoline at the pump in the Milwaukee area. This is a massive corporate liability. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Emergency brake does not stop car from moving .
My key is stuck in the lock position, won't go all the way back to come out.
My key IS stuck in the ignition. We were on vacation and on sat may 23,2020 when we got back to our hotel the key wouldn't release to come out of ignition
While driving the transmission started to slip out of gear from drive to netural to drive while both lights are showing the car IS in that gear . While trying to accelerate the car brakes engaged and the went back into drive ,and I had to drive hiw at a very low speed to make it home.
Fuel filler neck IS defective causing code p0442. Car vin was never part of recall. I should get reimbursed for this repair.
I had replaced the water pumps getting ready to replace it again and when it went out the power steering messed up I'm also having issues with the timing belt it was replaced at 112,000 miles and it was inspected at 121,000 and was okay but it snapped on me the other day the highway replacing it for the second time now at 188,000+ miles not even 100,000 miles later from the first time. This isn't cheap also my heater core went again.
Car would not start after pumping fuel in - took to mechanic; he said battery fine few days later, car would not start after pumping fuel in - took to mechanic; he said battery bad. I replaced battery. few days later, car would not start after pumping fuel in - took to mechanic; he said new battery fine. since car did not start 3 times in a row after pumping gas, and I needed a jump every time, I had mechanic do a diagnostic. he said the issue was tied to a recall bulletin. 10V065000 - filler pipe and cap. Called mitsubishi to fix it but they said my car does not qualify because I am state of california. I do a lot of my driving in snow so I feel mitsubishi should fix this for me. this IS a potential fire hazard so I need to fix it asap (plus I don't want to get stuck at a gas station again needing a jump). I'D like mitsubishi to reimburse me for this expense because now I have to pay out of pocket.
I bought it like this and don't really know
TL* the contact owns a 2004 mitsubishi endeavor. While operating the vehicle, the neutral and drive indicators illuminated on the instrument panel at the same time. After turning the engine off and back on, the vehicle would not drive forward or in reverse. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer (mitsubishi/hyundai in brandon, fl), but the cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer was not notified. The vin was invalid. The failure mileage was 170,000.
The car has been accumulating fluid on the floor of the driver's side. Usure of where the problem was, we have been absorbing the water and airing out the car. Mold has accumulated as well (black mold) and now I know why I've had repeated respiratory problems, including pneumonia three times over the past 2 years. Rust IS also forming due to the constant humidity levels inside the car. The brake pedal seems to be rusting as well as the driver's side chair floor mount. I cannot see what IS happening to the electrical wiring, as it IS covered by the panels. There have been numerous times that due to the liquid on the floor of the driver's side, my foot has slipped while depressing the brake which has led to potential accidents. As I cannot see the floor itself (due to the carpeting), I don't know if that IS rusting out as well. I have not taken it to a dealer yet, since I didn't know what the problem was... I thought that maybe rain was getting into the car somehow. Well, since it hasn't rained in over one week, and the puddle in the car was worse than ever before, I suspected the a/c system. I went online and have found numerous complaints and yet there IS no recall? I am appalled that this situation has not been addressed? Fungal respiratory infections can lead to death, especially for those who are vulnerable. Slippery brake pedals, rusting floor boards and rusting seat floor anchors, potential for electrical shorts and/or fires are not acceptable. The company has apparently not taken responsibility for these issues. Perhaps it will take a death for a recall? I would like to emphasize that no mechanic was able to definitively tell us where this leak was coming from, nor were we able to tell... Until now. It has been two years. This car has no resell value and should not be sold due to the potential for serious harm. This matter IS long overdue!
The out standing recall I had completed 03/15/2011 at dealer no 15102 ..i called mitsubishi inc in california to fix and remove this recall from their data which it reflects exactly on your data they informed me that there are no recalls on my vehicle outstanding and it's been a week since I reported it to them. I need them to remove it immediately early monday and email me at [xxx] or call me at [xxx] attached IS a proof the recall completion top second page information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(B)(6). *tr
I was hit by a city transit bus and air bag did not open
I have talked to mitsubishi numerous times since august 2016. They keep passing the buck or case manager IS on vacation. I've been using a hose and funnel to fuel my car because the fill tube has rusted out. this and 4 more recalls on this car puts me in a dangerous situation that mitsubishi IS aware of. I am tired of getting the run around.
The window regulators on both passenger front and rear and driver front and rear windows failed to work, the windows fell down while driving and I have to use zip ties to hold the windows up. *tr
TL* the contact owns a 2004 mitsubishi endeavor. While filling the vehicle with fuel, the fuel leaked out. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the fuel filler pipe needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 10v065000 (fuel system, gasoline). The failure mileage was 178,000. updated 11/01/16*lj *tr *tr
Had recall repaired (fuel injection pipe)@ pomoco hampton va. Immediately afterwards, engine light came on while driving 6 miles up the road. Five days later water started leaking on driver side only. Took vehicle back to dealer. They stated, a hose was missing on recall repair. I wondered why whenever I topped off gas @ the pump, fuel leaked from back tire area under vehicle. Fire hazard. They quoted 1500 to fix water leak. Got a it fix @ another auto repair. Six mths later, back to pomoco for yrly inspection, 2 days later, whenever I press brakes, make turns on city streets, highway, or in motion I feel something rolls under my feet but cant see it, must be underneath. A mth afterwards, everything IS wet. All the floor boards, puddles. Cardboard, towels nothing will stop the water flow with ac functioning. I have 128,000 miles on the vehicle, bought in 2010 with 51,000 on it. Ever since the fuel pipe recall, that pomoco took 3 mths to complete because they didnt want to do the work which forced me to file complaint with the corporation, nhtsa, & one other, I've had water problems. This will be taken to a higher legal level due to this IS & continues to cause harm, intentional or otherwise. We're advised here not to get personal but mold & mushrooms etc, should not exist in a vehicle. I see this has been an issue with lots of others and nothing done to date. Started in around oct 2015 (recall repair) & again may 2016.
Passenger airbag failure. Srs light on. Dealer verified failure. No vehicle accident or contact.
This problem IS not related to the age of vehicle, nor IS it owner-created. it IS a manufacturer design flaw. driver-side front floor stays soaking wet. shoes get wet and slippery which IS dangerous while pressing on gas and brake pedals (driving hazard). mold continues to grow even after cleaned (health hazard). told that the problem IS a failed grommet from the evaporator core drain. no recall has been issued ($700 repair estimate to replace grommet). due to health and safety hazards, a recall should be issued for this manufacturer flaw/faulty material!
TL* the contact owns a 2004 mitsubishi endeavor. While driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle independently accelerated to 85 mph without warning. The brake pedal was depressed, but failed to respond. The contact shifted the vehicle into the neutral position and it stopped abruptly. As a result of the stop, the vehicle went into an embankment, flipped down a hill, and landed in another embankment. As the vehicle flipped, the dash panel detached and struck the contact. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was not filed and there were no injuries reported. The vehicle was driven to the contact's residence. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage and vin were unavailable.

Standing water on driver side floor.hvac drain plug IS clogged and now warning lights for many different items are appearing on dash display and this IS caused by water running through. I do not know of many auto makers that put drain plug under dash board. This could very well turn into an electrical and or fire hazard. Contacted dealer and was told this was the first they have heard of this. There are many many many complaints online so they do know about the problem.
NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opened these reviews into vehicles including this one.
This investigation was opened on december 30, 2009, based on five consumer reports alleging gasoline fuel leaking from the fuel fill pipe.some of the complainants indicated the fuel fill pipe had corroded to the point of being perforated, allowing fuel to leak from the pipe.by letter of february, 24, 2010, and amended march 10, 2010, mitsubishi motors north america (mitsubishi) notified the agency that it will conduct a safety recall of approximately 26,135 subject vehicles.the recalled vehicles were sold or are currently registered in the following salt belt states : ct, de, il, in, ia, ky, me, md, ma, mi, mn, mo, nh, nj, ny, oh, pa, ri, vt, va, wv, wi, and the district of columbia.mitsubishi will also include in the recall the following cold climate states: nd, sd, nb, ks, ok, co, wy, mt, ID, wa, or, and ut.mitiubishi states that a mixture of mud and road salt can become trapped between a reinforcing bracket and the fill pipe and lead to corrosion of the fill pipe, resulting in leaks during refueling.for subject vehicles not in salt belt or cold states (approximately 28,077), mitsubishi will extend the warranty of the fuel fill pipe to 10 years or 150,000 miles, whichever comes first.
The subject vehicle ignition-park interlock and shift lock (brake-shift interlock) systems are mechanically actuated.the systems utilize two cable assemblies that connect to a plastic housing mounted to the shift lever mechanism.within the housing IS a lever (interlock lever) that the ignition-park interlock cable connects to.when the interlock lever IS positioned in its rearward travel range, the ignition key removal IS prevented; when the lever IS positioned in its forward position, key removal IS allowed.according to mitsubishi, the ignition key interlock cable may allow the interlock lever to fall forward during vehicle use.in this state the ignition key can be removed from the ignition switch when the gearshift mechanism IS not in the park position.if the driver does not shift to park before removing the key and fails to engage the parking brake, the vehicle could roll and a crash could occur.most of the reported crash incidents were minor in nature involving unoccupied vehicles rolling from a parked condition and striking other vehicles or objects.the single injury incident occurred when the operator parked the vehicle, exited, and was subsequently struck by the vehicle as it rolled away.the type and severity of the injuries were not described.in a letter dated march 21, 2008, mitsubishi advised nhtsa that it will conduct a safety recall to address this condition (see www.safercar.gov, recall action 08v-139 for further details); remedy details and timing are to be determined.accordingly the investigation IS closed.
