Tl*the contact owns a 1993 oldsmobile bravada. while driving 65 mph, the brake pedal was depressed, but would not move. the failure only occurred at speeds greater than 65 mph. the brake pedal would eventually depress. the dealer was unable to duplicate or repair the failure. the failure mileage was 130,000 and current mileage IS 158,809.
Dt*: the contact stated the vehicle failed to start as if it was not getting fuel. although the dealer was alerted, no inspections were made. there IS a nhtsa recall, # 06e041000, regarding the fuel system gasoline delivery hoses, lines/piping and fittings. the vin was not included in the recall. the manufacturer has been alerted.

Consumer stated that despite having had almost all the brake system replaced with new parts, she had a near fatal accident due to brake failure. while traveling 40-45 mph brake failed and consumer hit a van on the back left corner with the right front corner and her vehicle was totaled. *Yd
Locks would lock and unlock on own. The last time they did it, they quit working in their intirely. The seat controls and horn also quite working the last time the locks acted up. Have tried to replace breaker in fuse panel, but get spark when trying to insert breaker or any other fuses in panel. / the brakes have failed 2 times. Vehical was traveling at 10 - 15 mph going down a small grade. When pressed on brake, pedal would go to floor and make loud noise under hood. After rolling an excessive distance, the brakes would start working again and come to a stop. I have called the manufacturer on this to find out if there has been any recalls or complaints. I was told there has not been any.
While driving the vehicle began to smoke then caught fire, prior to the fire the cd player started acting up, the battery became low and smoke began pouring out of the left side of the hood (ohio traffic crash report). nlm
Uncontrolled vehicle acceleration at about 45mph. gas pedal/throttle felt like it was at approximately half travel and brake pedal was extremely stiff and unresponsive with severely reduced brake effectiveness. Problem cleared up within about 10 seconds with return of normal throttle control and brake effectiveness and brake pedal feel. cruise control was turned completely off during this time.*ak
The fuel injection system began giving us trouble after we had a tune-up. our gas mileage became live 15 miles to a full tank of gas.
Have had several incidents with mushy brakes, but service people at rainbow told me it was typical GMC anti-lock brakes. when you hit a bump and brake at the same time, the brake pedal goes to the floor and can hear and feel a vibration through the pedal. also, read your article on the internetdated 7/23/99 about gm to recall 3.5 million vehicles because of problems with the anti-lock brake system. after three major brake jobs, the only thing the mechanical people at firestone and geg's auto repairs could say was, typical of the GMC anti-lock braking system. Hve contacted GMC sharon noim in tampa on 7/23/99 and said the only thing she sees IS a recall 96067 that had nothing to do with the brakes. call back on 8/6/99 and spoke with a sharronda, she said she has seen nothing yet about the brake recall. called mike in the srevice dept. At rainbow olds in harvey, la where the SUV was purchased, he said he has seen nothing or heard anything about a recall on any GMC vehicle. I explained my predicament to him. he said he would check into it and return my call. never did. call GMC again on 12/6/00 in tampa and spoke with shantalet dallas, who must have a a bad day, she said she hadn't seen anything about a recall on the ABS brakes. called back to get someone with a better attitude and spoke with virginia beaty. said there IS a recall on for my vehicle 96067 for the linear egr valve, that she said was still open. I never received a recall letter on it. she set up a new file for me co2463907, and said she would be back with me. she called several days later and left a message on my voice mail, 12/11/00, stating that there were no present recalls or campaigns on my vehicle and recommended I bring it into the dealer to have it analyzed. I saved her message for reference. I feel I have gone through all the processes to correct this problem and have not been satisfied. no one seems too know of the recall on the internet, because tie has expired on the article.
In certain weather conditions the ABS malfunctions and results in greatly extended stopping distances. (Ie. A stop from approximately 5-10 mph required in excess of 20 ft. When the ABS malfunctions the brake pedal travels to the floor, one wheel locks and skids, with what appears to be no braking at the other three wheels.*ak
While driving driveshaft broke 3 times which may cause driver to lose control of vehicle, and may lead to a crash. please provide further information.*ak
Brake pedal goes to floor, does not stop when it should. Bravda IS the same chassis as GMC jimmy. See consumer reports nov. 1997. Why IS there not a recall for bravda like the GMC, and chevy ? same chassis
Am now on third injection system in 130000 miles @ $700.00 ea, seems excessive. *ak
Fail 1 caused fire; fail 2 @ 139145 no fire yet
Ea94038; in dry conditions and while driving 15 mph ABS braking system malfunctioned, causing extended stopping distance which could result in a crash. *ak the incident occured twice in trying to stop at light and on slowing down to make a turn. *yh
Had a problem with the ABS system the velicle made a roaring sound, and just did stopping distance was greatly increased. I seen the 1993 jimmy and blazer had a recall on this system and was curious if the bravada was just over looked. Thank you. *ak
Right front sensor failed. yh
Intermittently the brakes lock up and become hard resulting in extended stopping distances. the dealer has replaced the brake booster. Mjs
When applying brakes in normal conditions the brake pedal will intermittently become hard, resulting in extended stopping distance. dealer cannot identify the problem. please give any further details. *ak
While on the expressway going about 55-60mph, the driveshaft gave way. This caused the vehicle to swerve into another lane. Managed to get to service station & it was repaired. Noticed heater coil was broken, causing anti-freeze fumes to be blown back into the vehicle. *ak
Brakes failed and resulted in a collision.
While driving vehicle about 30 to 35 mph on a city street, a vehicle stopped in front of consumer's vehicle. When consumer tried to step on brakes they did not respond, rearending the other vehicle in a crash. the dealer was contacted and they said this type of problem had happend before. *ak
While driving the truck about 60-65 mph the front wheel on the passenger's side fell off. The driver did not have a crash. the wheel has been repaired. *ak
Upon applying ABS brakes the vehicle will not stop. Problem occurs on wet or dry pavement. Problem also IS intermittent. Dealers have replaced sensor 3 times and problem remains. *ak
ABS brake problems; while driving on regular road conditions, during normal braking, applied the brakes and the pedal went to the floor. at the same time the ABS warning light came on and the bravada slowed down some, but not like it would normally. The master cylinder and proportional valve were replaced at 49,000 miles in jan of 97. The van IS experiencing very poor braking again. The brakes pads and rotors were just recently replaced at 58600 miles. *ak consumer states that the brakes often go to the floor even though the master cylinder and porportional valve were replaced. *slc
