The car malfunction issue that is being reported is for the 2011 Toyota Yaris Gearshift and yes it is available upon request. The safety of small children were at risk when the vehicle was turned off no key in the ignition and no pressure on the break but the gear was pulled it shifted into neutral and completed an accelerated roll away with a small child inside. Not as of yet, has this vehicle been inspected by an independent service center. Vehicle has been inspected by other individuals and insurance reps. NO WARNING LIGHTS VISIBLE because keys were never in vehicle or in vehicle ignition.
I filed a claim for the auto airbag settlement in 2017. I never received any response and when I contacted toyota they stated bob baker does not exist anymore. No one has an answer. thank you, amparo perez-flynn
I call to toyota, and I wait for apoimentnt
It was new year's eve 12/31/2018 it was raining and I was going home after pick up dinner for my family and I was coming to a stop sign and I pressed on my brakes and it didn't catch on and I let off of it and pressed on it again. I still felt like I was sliding and that when I pressed on it even harder and I kept sliding. I turned my wheel so I wouldn't hit straight to the trees and the ditch but once I turned the wheel I felt the car being pushed like the wind blew on it and next thing I feel the car was hit and rolling down the ditch and the airbags didn't deploy. It happened so fast I thought we were died cause it was my 6 months old daughter and i. The first day after the accident my neck was hurting so bad that it hurt for me to swallow and my chest, shoulders, and back hurts. My daughter and I went to urgent care on 1/2/2019 cause the doctors office were closed and the emergency room was full of people the next day cause it was a holiday I wish I had went with the ambulance or went that same day cause I was in so pain after. We didn't get visible scars my daughter was strapped in her car seat and I had my seatbelt on cause I always make sure I have my seatbelt on every time I'm in a car I can feel my bruises I couldn't get a mri cause I was given a pregnancy test and it came up positive but I did get a x-ray on my neck. All I can take for pain IS tylenol 1 pill every 6 hours or 2 pills every 12 hours. I have to follow up with my daughter doctor next week to see if everything stays normal from her urgent care check up. I'm trying to figure out what happened with my car cause I wasn't going that fast and the car hitting so hard I can't understand why the airbags didn't deploy? Didn't the sensors didn't work or go off. If y'all can please inform me of why the airbags didn't deploy please message me at my email [xxx] or [xxx]. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(B)(6). *tr
Takata recall
Takata recall: upon receiving the recall letter from toyota approximately 6 weeks ago I immediately contacted one of the 2 local dealers (precision toyota) and arranged to have the parts ordered. after approximately 7 to 10 days I was notified that the parts had arrived and I attempted to schedule an appointment for repair but the dealer IS unwilling to give me a ride home so I can use a borrowed vehicle to go to work. yesterday I was advised by a rep from precision toyota that they again would not be able to give me a ride home on their shuttle but would arrange for an uber to return me home. upon arrival this morning at precision toyota I was advised that they in fact would not arrange for a ride to my home because of where I live (approximately 19 miles from the dealer). I work and cannot afford to take a day off from work especially for something that IS not my fault!!! toyota IS failing at this recall!
Takata recall
The passenger side airbag off light with not shut off as well as the srs light. Both passenger and driver were in seat.

Parts distribution disconnect.
"Takata recall" this recall has been known since may 23, 2016 yet we only received a recall notice at the beginning of january 2017,and no fix IS available for the takata air bag inflators on our vehicle. (Making this vehicle dangerous far worse then any vehicle without a air bag system). we purchased this vehicle for its safety , but it IS not safe. and toyota has no fix for the issue.. at this time I feel considering this has been know for a long time and nothing has been done to correct the dangers associated with the vehicle, the manufacture should either correct the faulty inflators, provide safe replacement vehicles, or out right purchase the vehicles back from the owners for the owners actual purchase cost. As of january 20TH 2017 no notice to correct this potentially deadly situation has been received.
TL* the contact owns a 2011 toyota yaris. While the front passenger seat was occupied, the front passenger air bag was deactivated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the air bag sensor failed due to the weight in the passenger seat being too heavy. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 35,000.

Takata recall I wish to complain about takata and toyota about their mutual handling of the recall. This summer I received a notice from toyota recommending keeping the front passenger seat unoccupied due to the front passenger airbag while they seek a "remedy". from what reading I have done, the remedy consists of replacing the defective technology from takata with a newer version of the same defective technology, thus prolonging the danger. This IS just a ploy to buy time and it IS criminal. As the airbag recall expands to other makes and models, will other airbags in my vehicle be affected as well? So now I and many thousands/ millions of other drivers must drive vehicles that could explode on us at any given time and that will be difficult, if not impossible, to sell. We should be compensated and toyota and takata must be held accountable.

Toyota recall: notice states: "do not operate the vehicle with and occupant in front passenger seat." limits usefulness of vehicle. as the three point seat harness IS the primary passenger restraint and the airbag IS secondary, I would like to disable the front passenger airbag. please advise.
Takata recall I received a letter stating my airbags were recalled but the claim IS incomplete and I am not able to get my vehicle repaired.
Hi, my name IS [xxx] do to a car crashing into my toyota yaris my son was driving and some car crash into him. He got hurt airbags did not work at all when the accident was very fatal. Engine was on fire department had to take him out of the car unconscious and the wheels where twists. Car was destroyed was unbelievable how the car was left. Car should be returned or taken of market. Its not safe car. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(B)(6). *tr
Toyota has initiated safety recall without offering any repair option. Toyota states: "do not operate the vehicle with an occupant in the front passenger seat."
I have toyota yaris sedan 2011. I buy this car in the dealer toyota bayamon pr I feel the car very slippery and uncomfortable. when the mechanic check he tell me this car do not have ABS esc ect. just have 2 air bags in front. when we check the vin said this car supposed have ABS and all safety system but when we check no have nothing. just 2 air bags. *tr

2011 toyota yaris. consumer writes in regards to vehicle trunk lid problems. *smd the consumer stated the trunk lid would come down on his head, when there was a slight breeze or when parked facing up a steep hill. the dealer informed the consumer, replacing the existing trunk springs would not remedy the problem. The dome light did not have a mode to turn on, when the door was open and turn off when the door was closed. Also, the plastic molding on the driver's side bottom door came off and the rubber trunk seal came loose in several places. updated 10/21/13
NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opened these reviews into vehicles including this one.
From 2000 through 2017, Takata produced millions of air bag inflators using two types of phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate ("PSAN") propellant -- propellant 2004 and propellant 2004L. After prolonged exposure to high temperature cycles and humidity, inflators using propellant 2004 can degrade, causing the propellant to burn too quickly when ignited. The rapid burning can cause the inflator to rupture during deployment, potentially causing serious or even fatal injury to vehicle occupants. See 2016 Blomquist Report at www.nhtsa.gov/sites/nhtsa.gov/files/documents/expert_report-hrblomquist.pdf.Consequently, all frontal inflators using propellant 2004 that do not contain a "desiccant" (a substance that traps and holds moisture) in US vehicles are under recall. These "non-desiccated" inflators either have been or are required to be replaced. In some cases, the remedy part for these recalled inflators was, or will be, an inflator using either propellant 2004 or 2004L that does contain a desiccant. None of these "desiccated" remedy parts (which were installed in older model year vehicles) are currently under recall for a degradation concern. Certain subsets of desiccated PSAN inflators using propellant 2004 for use as original equipment, however, have been recalled for a degradation concern. All Takata inflators produced with propellant 2004L contain desiccant, and none of these desiccated inflators using propellant 2004L are under recall for a degradation concern. There have been no reported field ruptures in any non-recalled desiccated PSAN inflators. It is understood that desiccants fully saturate at some threshold, at which point any additional moisture will not be captured. This means the degradation process observed in non-desiccated inflators using propellant 2004 may also occur in non-recalled desiccated inflators using propellant 2004, assuming additional moisture enters the inflator and high temperature cycling occurs. Based on available information, desiccant saturation can occur within the first five years in the worst environments, and the time required for full saturation is affected by multiple factors. While no present safety risk has been identified, further work is needed to evaluate the future risk of non-recalled desiccated inflators using propellant 2004.Three entities -- Takata (now known as TK Global), the Independent Testing Coalition, and Exponent -- have been studying the long-term behavior of Takata desiccated PSAN inflators using propellant 2004L (as well as 2004) in the presence of moisture and temperature cycling. The research efforts, which include development of predictive modeling techniques and field sample analysis, are ongoing. To date, none of the researchers have identified field evidence showing that propellant 2004L is undergoing a degradation process that leads to aggressive deployment and potential rupture. However, the time in service of such inflators remains short compared to that of the inflators using propellant 2004. Further study is needed to assess the long-term safety of desiccated inflators using propellant 2004L.The Office of Defects Investigation is opening this investigation to examine whether a safety defect related to propellant degradation exists in non-recalled desiccated PSAN frontal inflators manufactured by Takata. This investigation will require extensive information on Takata production processes and surveys of inflators in the field. Lists of recall actions that may have used desiccated PSAN inflators as remedy parts, as well as the makes and models originally manufactured with them, is available with the downloadable version of this document (see nhtsa.gov/recalls?nhtsaId=EA21002 -- note this information is subject to change/revision as the investigation proceeds). This investigation does not supersede EA15-001, which remains open.
