  Catastrophic engine failure while decelerating from approximately 40 mph at 8,000 rpm under otherwise normal riding conditions. Engine stalled and wouldn't restart. Upon examination it was found that cylinder 2 suffered a broken valve, damaging the piston, remaining valves, and cylinder head. had the engine seized, or had this happened mid-corner, this certainly would have resulted in a crash. odometer was at approximately 10,500 miles. Failure occurred on a divided roadway helmet-cam video IS available.

• 10192909The throttle balance procedure described in the above models? Service Manuals is correct for the Street Triple and Street Triple R only. For the correct method of throttle balance for the above models, carry out the following procedure.
• 10192906A new gear position sensor and fly lead have been introduced to the above models from engine number 596481. If replacing the gear position sensor or fly lead from engine number 596481, refer to the EPC for the part numbers. If replacing the gear position sensor up to engine number 596480, a fly lead must also be fitted to enable the new sensor to be connected to the main harness. To facilitate this, a parts kit (part number T1294242) is available.
• 10192891We have identified that the two bolts securing the coolant hose T-piece to the lower crankcase are not tightened to specification. Dealers are requested to re-torque the bolts as instructed below.
