On certain motor home and truck chassis equipped with general motors 8.1L V8 engines, improper hardening during the heat treatment process can cause the fuel rail pulse damper retainer clip to fracture, resulting in inadequate retention of the damper. if the damper becomes loose, fuel could be pumped by the fuel pump into the under hood area.
In the presence of an ignition source, a fire could result.
Dealers will replace the fuel rail pulse damper retainer clips on these engines free of charge. the recall began on september 1, 2006. Owners may contact workhorse at 877-294-6773.
Certain chassis may have been equipped with incorrect steering intermediate shafts. the spline can strip while the steering wheel IS being turned.
This steering condition could increase the risk of a crash.
Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the steering intermediate shafts. the recall began on may 22, 2006. owners may contact workhorse at 1-877-294-6773.
The contact owns a 2007 Itasca Suncruiser built on a 2006 Workhorse W24 Chassis. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the propane alarm sounded. The contact veered to the side of the road. The contact stated that upon inspecting the propane tank, he noticed that the bracket that held the propane tank into position, was loosened. An independent mechanic repaired the bracket. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 69,000.
Workhorse W-24 park brake one time use for emergency then fails without warning who was the idiot that approved such a system most of the general motors coaches are without any emergency or park brakes ,you can not repair crap that will not wok as designed with a failure rate of 100% within three years. I think you have taken or just do not have the balls to apply the laws that you sponsored thru congress. Repair parts are not readily available only new part from workhorse. 1 the failure one time use item,it does not say that in any written material from workhorse2my battery power cable to my coach failed, the power loss opened all contacts so no power to brake lights, emergency flashers everything dead ...i had to use the toad flashers to hold traffic at bay till a tow truck arrived. My parking brake worked on level ground but when I parked on a hill it was a scramble to apply the brake with engine off. From a motorhome to rolling crap in 2 seconds with no warning 3 the fix IS to purchase the new---new park brake assembly from workhorse, not in the near future, this system IS also in bus frames that carry our children to school. You guys blew this one, confess up, and fix it. *Tr
