6 recalls name the 2015 Dodge Dart. Newest first.
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2013-2016 Dodge Dart vehicles. The shifter cable may detach from the transmission, preventing the vehicle from shifting into the park (P) position and causing a loss of park function.
A loss of park function may allow the vehicle to rollaway, increasing the risk of a crash.
Vehicles that were previously repaired under recall 19V293 will need to have the new remedy completed. Dealers will replace the shifter cable assembly and install a cap, free of charge. Interim notification letters, explaining the safety risk, were mailed November 6, 2025. A second notice will be sent once the final remedy is available. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is A0C. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning October 16, 2025.
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2013-2016 Dodge Dart vehicles equipped with 6-speed automatic transmissions. The shifter cable bushing may fail allowing the shift cable to detach from the transmission.
If the shifter cable detaches from the transmission, the vehicle may not perform the shifts performed by the driver. Additionally, despite selecting PARK with the shifter, the vehicle may roll away. These scenarios may increase the risk of a crash.
This recall will be replaced by NHTSA recall number 25V674. Vehicles already repaired under this recall will need to have the new remedy completed. Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will update the Engine Control Module software, free of charge. The recall began on March 25, 2016. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is S10.
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Dodge Dart vehicles manufactured February 24, 2012, to June 16, 2015. The affected vehicles may experience failure of the transmission control module (TCM), causing the transmission to unexpectedly shift into neutral.
If the transmission shifts into neutral, it can cause loss of motive power, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.
Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the TCM and bracket, free of charge. Chrysler issued an interim notification to owners on October 14, 2015. The recall began on January 15, 2016. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is R42.

The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Dart. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V674000 (Power Train); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair.
I am writing concerned with the length of time it is taking to get recall parts sent. I have been checking with dealership and was told I'm on waiting lists, the parts wouldn't be in until the beginning of year 2026, and now they just don't know when the parts will be available. If this is a SAFETY recall, why is it taking so long to remedy?
My vehicle has been held indefinitely for 1 full year now because the manufacturer launched a safety recall on the transmission bushing cable for a second time since the 2019 recall without a viable engineering solution this time. I've been doing what I can without my vehicle for a whole year now but now I'm getting more anxiety on having reliable transportation.
The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Dart. The contact stated that after starting the vehicle, the vehicle failed to respond in drive(D) or reverse(R). The dealer was contacted and associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V674000 (Power Train); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was contacted by e-mail and made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.
I was previously notified of safety recall for the transmission shift cable failure (Manufacturer Recall Number A0C; NHTSA Recall Number 25V-674) that was announced on Oct 09, 2025. It's been nearly 1 year and there still isn't a remedy available (Today's date 9/28/26) "Recall Status: Recall Incomplete, remedy not yet available." My car has not experienced this failure yet, but the prolonged waiting for a remedy is making me nervous. It seems like 1 year is a reasonable time to wait before becoming frustrated about the lack of a remedy.
The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Dart. While the contact's daughter was driving 20 MPH, the transmission failed to shift as intended. The contact stated that the failure had occurred while at an intersection where there was a lot of traffic. The contact stated that approximately four years ago, a temporary recall repair was completed for the gear shifter. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V674000 (Power Train); however, the part was not available. The failure mileage was approximately 199,000.
On Aug 30, 2026, my 2015 Dodge Dart suddenly became stuck when the gear wouldn’t shift out of park. The shift lever would move, but it felt loose. This obviously rendered the vehicle undrivable. As this happened on a Sunday night, I had no choice but to call AAA to get the car towed home that night, and again later that week (Sep 2) to get it towed to the dealership when they scheduled an appointment for me to bring in the vehicle. This failure is directly related to open NHTSA recall 25V674 (Chrysler recall A0C), covering the transmission shifter cable/bushing on 2013–2016 Dodge Dart vehicles. This is the same component addressed by an earlier recall (19V293/Chrysler V34), which was performed on this vehicle in Jun 2021. According to Chrysler's own Part 573 filing, the 2021 fix failed in the field, prompting the new recall. As of this complaint, no permanent remedy exists for this recall. On Jun 17, 2026, the dealership where I took my car to for the 19V293 recall fix texted me, urging me to bring the vehicle in for this recall. Thinking they already had a fix, I brought my car in. It wasn’t until the day after I dropped off my car that I was told there still was no fix available and the visit was unnecessary. When I towed my car to this dealership on Sep 2, I was again told no permanent fix exists, and that I would have to pay for repair out of pocket and seek reimbursement from the manufacturer. The dealer estimated roughly 2 days for repair (original paperwork had a promise date of Sep 4). The vehicle was not ready until Sep 10. Repair cost: $782.49. When I retrieved the vehicle, the interior had been left in disarray (contents of the center console scattered in the back seat), and an access panel near the shift cable on the front passenger side had not been reinstalled. I am filing this complaint to document a real-world failure event tied to this open recall, and the fact that I was charged for a repair related to an unresolved safety recall.

The manufacturer was made aware of the failure by phone. The failure mileage was approximately 180,000.
Love you drive for a few minutes and then it completely stops and it will not go. It starts shaking and will not go. It has been to the dealership and they said these cars are known for electrical issues. Had something electrical.
It is becoming increasingly difficult to shut down the car when the transmission is placed in park because the system is not recognizing the transmission is in park.
The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Dart. The contact stated that while parking in a driveway, the contact shifted from Drive (D) to Park (P), but the gear became stuck. Additionally, the key was stuck in the ignition and could not be removed due to the shifting failure. The vehicle was towed to a dealer, where it was diagnosed with a transmission shift cable failure. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V674000 (Power Train); however, the recall remedy was not yet available. The dealer repaired the vehicle at the owner's expense; however, the contact was informed that reimbursement would not be processed until the recall remedy became available. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 165,000.
The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 110,000.
I was driving my vehicle, 2015 Dodge Dart to get a regular oil change service back on XXX. The oil change service hub was only 10 minutes or so from my home. Upon arriving to the oil change location([XXX]), I was about to turn into the intersection when my vehicle had started to shake abruptly & my steering wheel started to wiggle left & right. It was very difficult to control my vehicle while turning with on going traffic coming my way. I was able to turn & safely park my vehicle. After the oil change my vehicle was able to be safely driven back to my apartment home. My vehicle has been parked in the same spot since this day & this day was the first time I had experienced this issue. The issue does flare up sometimes when I move my vehicle parking spots to avoid tow. I have contacted the Dodge dealership by my home via phone call & also via email in which I am regularly advised to check back again with in the following month as the parts or remedy is unavailable. Thankfully I have been able to manage my transportation priorities for work and other events for the past year this has been going on for. Recently it has added a descent amount of stress on everyday living & also putting a strain on expenses due to uber & rental reservations for transportation. Any kind of assistance would be greatly appreciated. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

My 2015 Dart has suffered a major loss of shift function, the key is being trapped in the ignition, the gears are not shifting properly or sometimes the gear locks up and doesn’t shift at all. The dealer refused repair due to parts not being available. I have been in contact with the dealership on numerous occasions by phone and told I have to wait until the parts become available in the past and recently with the manufacturer (NHTSA) and nothing has been done about the issue. The car is unsafe for me to drive the car has slipped into neutral while I was driving. The car is available for inspection upon request. The problem was confirmed prior to this incident on a previous recall but the issue is happening again after being repaired for the initial problem and it has been a hassle with customer service on how to get a resolution before tragedy happens driving the vehicle with these problems. There were not other symptoms of the problem prior to failure.
Recall on parts not available tried several times to get appointment no parts. This I and 1 car family must use daily to work and and cannot get fixed per dealership no parts available 2+ years or so. Need help for this severe issue as a consumer. Who is responsible if collision or death from this.

went to put car in Park and it started to roll away. also now the car will not start i have a message that says engine is warming to start.
On July 24th 2026, while operating my 2015 Dodge Dart, I was backing up in reverse and attempted to shift the vehicle into Park. During this normal shifting process, the transmission shift cable failed/broke, causing the vehicle to become stuck in Reverse and preventing me from safely shifting the vehicle into Park or another gear. The failed component is the transmission shift cable, which is the same component involved in the current safety recall for this vehicle. The failed part is available for inspection upon request and is currently with the dealership. This failure created a serious safety risk because the vehicle could not be placed into Park and remained stuck in Reverse. A vehicle that cannot properly shift gears creates a risk of unintended vehicle movement, inability to secure the vehicle when parked, and potential danger to the driver, passengers, and others nearby. The problem was confirmed by the Dodge dealership after inspection. The dealer verified that the shift cable had failed and that the issue involved the recalled component. The vehicle is currently at the dealership awaiting repair. There were no warning lights, dashboard messages, or other noticeable symptoms before the failure. The shift cable broke suddenly while I was attempting to shift from Reverse into Park during normal vehicle operation. The failure happened without warning and left me without a usable vehicle.

Drove vehicle from the market to home and vehicle lost shift capability in the process of putting car from drive position into park. had to use emergency brake to hold car from moving. Was told by recall center that I had to have a diagnostic by a dealer to confirm that recall was the issue and that they do not have a solution yet. work in process. I had car towed to dealership and it was due to recall and that there IS no part available and don't know when it will be. made call to the recall center and they said they would give a rental assistance but I would have to pay everything upfront and then I would be reimbursed. No idea when solution would be resolved.

NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opened these reviews into vehicles including this one.
On June 30, 2025, the Office of Defects Investigations (ODI) opened RQ25002 to investigate and review the effectiveness of Recall 19V-293. This recall was intended to address deterioration and detachment of shifter cable bushings by replacing them with an improved bushing that is less susceptible to deterioration from chemicals, oils, and solvents in MY2013-2016 Dodge Dart vehicles equipped with automatic transmissions and manufactured by Fiat Chrysler Automotive US LLC (FCA US). If the shifter cable becomes detached from the transmission, the transmission gear position may not match the driver’s intended gear selection. This mismatch could result in unintended vehicle movement or rollaway when the driver believes the transmission is in PARK, increasing the risk of a crash and/or injury. ODI has received sixty-three (63) Vehicle Owner Questionnaires (VOQ) alleging worn or misadjusted shifter cables and/or shifter cable detachments in subject vehicles that had already received the remedy for Recall 19V-293. Complainants reported incidents of bushing deterioration and detachment, resulting in gear-selection mismatch despite the prior recall repair, raising concerns regarding the effectiveness and durability of the implemented remedy and the adequacy of the recall. ODI’s investigation sought to determine whether the remedy used in recall 19V-293 adequately addressed the cause of the failure and whether other vehicles using the same bushing design might be affected. In response, FCA US and Dura Automotive Systems Inc. (Dura) determined that the repair for Recall 19V-293 did not sufficiently address the issue, and therefore, a safety defect exists in the subject vehicle population. As a result, FCA US and Dura initiated the following recall actions: · Recall 25V-674 (FCA US) is intended to address MY 2013–2016 Dodge Dart vehicles repaired under 19V-293 or otherwise equipped with suspect service parts. Remedy is under development. · Recall 25E-065 (Dura) is intended to address the defect at the equipment level by recalling affected gearshift control cable assemblies distributed as service components. Remedy is under development. The recalls initiated by FCA US (25V-674), and Dura Automotive Systems Inc. (25E-065) were received prior to ODI sending an Information Request (IR) letter to FCA. These two recalls seem to resolve the concerns that prompted investigation RQ25002 by replacing the previously recalled and service-supplied shifter cable assembly with an improved design, currently under development. The vehicle scope concern identified in this query was addressed by the new recalls including all Model Year 2013–2016 Dodge Dart vehicles produced and equipped with the affected shifter cable assembly. Accordingly, ODI is closing Investigation RQ25002. The agency will continue to monitor field performance and recall completion data to evaluate the effectiveness of the new remedy. ODI reserves the right to take additional action if warranted by future circumstances. To review the ODI reports cited in the Closing Resume ODI Report Identification Number document, go to NHTSA.gov.
