1 recall names the 2015 Honda Accord Hybrid. Newest first.
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Honda Accord Hybrid vehicles manufactured August 29, 2013, to May 30, 2015. Electrical interference may cause the hybrid system to switch into fail-safe mode, disabling the gasoline engine, limiting the vehicle's speed to 40 miles per hour and functioning only on battery power.…
A vehicle stall increases the risk of a crash.
Honda will notify owners, and dealers will update the hybrid system software, free of charge. The recall began on November 6, 2015. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is JT7.
The contact owns a 2015 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 MPH, the vehicle started losing motive power. The contact stated that the battery symbol and a message "12V Battery Inoperable" appeared on the instrument cluster. The contact depressed the accelerator pedal, but the vehicle failed to respond. The contact pulled over, and the vehicle had a power steering assist function; however, the brakes failed to respond as needed while depressing the brake pedal, and the brake pedal went to the floorboard. The vehicle stalled, and the contact coasted to a stop and attempted to restart the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle restarted but almost immediately stalled. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The mechanic scanned the vehicle and retrieved DTC: P0A94 related to the DC power converter. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V418000 (Electrical System); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and confirmed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 145,000.
Car goes into like a safety mode and does not accelerate when given gas. Car also will not go past 40mph. We see there is a recall for this issue for 2015 Honda accords but vin says it does not apply for this recall even though we are having the exact issue.
While driving on interstate highway at normal speed (55-60 mph), all dash warning lamps lit up and i could hear a rattling sound and saw white smoke coming out of exhaust/back of car. Luckily i was able to safely pull car over as engine failed. I checked underneath car to see if anything was loose and did not notice anything. My car needed to be towed since engine was dead. Independent mechanic confirmed that engine rod bolts blew out and an entirely new engine was needed. All proper maintenance was completed and car was running fine with no warning lights or sounds/problems noticed prior to time of incident.
I purchased a 2015 Honda Accord Hybrid in 2015. In early April 2021, I noticed my driver’s door lock was not working. At first intermittently then not at all. I took it to my Honda dealership and paid to have it repaired. Shortly after, the other 3 actuators stopped working. This time I realized something was wrong so I spoke to my Honda dealership & they had Honda USA pay the $100 deductible on MY extended warranty. In Nov. 2023 I tried to get my grandchild out of the backseat car seat but the door would not open. I had to run around to the driver’s front door, unlock it, reach over and manually unlock the passenger’s front door and then I was able to open the back door to reach my grandchild. If this had been an emergency, even the few minutes that it took me to unlock the door could mean the difference between life and death. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSSUE! I spoke with my dealership and Honda USA & they agreed to pay for most of the(5t)actuator .I was told “this is the last thing they will do for me!” As if I asked for their door actuators to be faulty. I have owned Honda’s since 1989 and have NEVER had an issue like this. Yes, parts break but not multiple times the same part. It is obviously defective. Yesterday, I tried to get my grandchild out of her car seat again and again the door would not open. I have now replaced the actuators once and am on my second round of replacing them. I Google searched and saw Honda recalled actuators for certain make and models, is there a reason someone’s life is more valuable based on the make and model they drive? I see it took a class action lawsuit to get Honda to recall the actuators on other models and provide a 7 year extended warranty on the part. I’m hopeful it won’t again take a class action lawsuit but rather your investigation to realize there are still too many faulty door actuators still in circulation. I’ve put Honda on notice but would rather it not come down to a life and death situation. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT
Hello, I turned my car on and saw the engine emissions system warning, which I’ve never seen before. I thought the cold front or sudden temperature change in my city had something to do with it & it would go away because my car is well maintained(all services done at Honda dealership). I was driving on the freeway about 75 mph and all of a sudden my car stops accelerating. I floored the gas pedal but it was only going about 30 mph(felt weak or like it was operating on battery only) this is when the “engine cooling system problem” and “engine temperature too hot” warnings started flashing. The car behind me almost hit me, other cars were passing & honking at me, I was holding up traffic so I got in the emergency lane. While in the emergency lane I had to turn my car on an off about 6 times for it to work normally for about 5/10 minutes before it would start stalling or the acceleration would stop working(this would happen when the coolant warning started flashing) until I got home. I was confused on why the car wasn’t accelerating like normal because I had more than half a gas tank left & my coolant has been replaced. The next day I turn on my car and it’s perfectly normal-no warnings. I took it to the Honda services and showed them the video I took of the warnings because I was scared and felt unsafe driving it, but they told me to bring it back when the warning lights turn back on the dashboard. It was Normal for about a week, then the warning lights popped back up and it would start stalling/not accelerate again. I constantly had to turn my car off and on driving to Honda services. They told me nothing is wrong with the coolant, they did a diagnostic test on it and said it’s the Computer module/electrical interference causing the warning lights/pumps not to not work. I believe it’s the hybrid propulsion system recall 15V602000, I have a 2015 Honda Accord Hybrid but my VIN is not recalled? Is there anyway to add my vin to the recall? Please and thank you.
The contact owns a 2015 Honda Accord Hybrid. The contact stated that on three separate occasions, the vehicle would independently accelerate soon after the start of the vehicle with his foot on the brake pedal. The contact also stated that the braking system failure warning light would be displayed on the instrument panel during the failure. The contact had taken the vehicle to the dealer twice for the same failure and both times he was informed that the failure was related to a defective battery and the battery was replaced. The manufacturer had been notified of the failure and a case was filed. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 15,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Honda Accord Hybrid. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, several battery warning messages would appear on the instrument panel. The contact initially took the vehicle to a dealer where she was informed that there was a faulty chamber in the battery. The contact stated that the battery was replaced. Since the initial failure, the contact had to replace the battery two more times as the battery warning messages continued to appear on the instrument panel. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V418000 (Electrical System) which she linked to the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 25,000.
The window side run channel inexplicably began to fold and buckle, making it impossible to close the driver’s side front window.
My AC compressor is failing, despite the fact that the car is less than 7 years old (purchased Nov 2015) and was driven sparingly for two pandemic years. Other Hondas and several other 2015 car models are known to have AC compressor recalls, of which I think this is related. These units should not have to be replaced so early. Also, my dealer charged $400 just to identify the issue and wanted more than $1700 to fix it despite the part being available for less than $500. That’s price gouging on top of selling defective vehicles.
While driving with no warning the power steering fails. The warning light then came on stating power system failure. Then just as quickly it began to work again before I was able to pull safely to the side. After checking the manual I set an appointment with honda of Huntington. They stated there was no error code for the steering and that I should drive the car till the light stays on. After that I took the car to my independent mechanic who also couldn't reproduce the problem. Two days later we drove the car for 1 hour and it happened again. Each time it was failing it returned to normal. This is an accident waiting to happen.
Honda currently has a recall for Honda Accords 2013-2015, #20V769. I happen to have a 2015 Honda Accord Hybrid, but because my particular VIN is not currently shown as affected, they refuse to reimburse me and fix the other side. This issue is related to drive shafts that will break due to corrosion. I was able to fix the broken driver side left axle, but this is clearly a sign that my vehicle was also affected by this manufacture error as it happened the same exact way they described it on the recall. This could have been a much worse accident, luckily I was at a stop sign when it snapped. It simply snapped, no warnings, no lights, nothing.
The contact owns a 2015 Honda Accord Hybrid. The contact stated while driving 60 mph, the steering wheel became difficult to turn. The contact stated that the power steering warning light was illuminated. The contact drove slowly to his destination. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic and it was diagnosed with needing the rack and pinion to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.
My power steering unexpectedly failed. I was on the road traveling approximately 30 mph and went to make a turn but could not without significant effort. My vehicle IS currently in the repair shop, where they are trying to diagnose a cause. The power steering IS electronic, as my vehicle IS a hybrid.
When car parks and key inside (in stationary) and when you leave the car may be around 1 minute, the door will lock itself. This would likely creates safety hazards to other vehicles if the vehicle happen to park in the middle of roadway.
Takata recall: when starting the car, the engine light IS on stating: "emission system problem & engine cooling system problem." this somehow trigger a safe fail mode that prohibits the car going faster than approximately 40 miles an hour. When the car was brought to the honda dealership for diagnosis, it showed dtc p2602 stored for electric water pump low voltage. They were able to perform the electric water pump performance and it cleared the code. But within 24 hours, the dtc returns and the engine light IS on again and the car wouldn't be able go faster than 40 miles per hour..
Rear disc brake calipers locked up causing emergency brake to stay applied to brakes resulting in loss of brake pad and burning of brake pads and rotors. this IS the second time this has happened. also, brake loss occurred when the car battery failed causing the brake assist system to fail. the second incident resulted in a collision with a parked vehicle.
2015 honda accord got called in for recall dealing with battery going into failsafe mode and causes caused engine to stall the issue has not been resolved it made matters worst.the p2602 sensor coolant pump sensor now shows on dash emission problems .honda service dept now wants IS to replace pump a hefty 900 dollar job that's obviously a factory defect.
While driving on highway all warning lights came on (in the dashboard with an exclamation point) and the car speed dropped to less than 40 m/hr
After the car has warmed up, a high pitched whistling sound (think dog whistle) emits upon rapid acceleration between 30 and 70 mph. have worked with honda service depts, engineers, and customer service since february (estimated date) to no resolution. noise began around 41K miles and has continued since. it IS a distraction making it difficult to concentrate when driving.
I was driving on a highway at 70mph when signs suchs as "engine cooling system problem", "emissions system problem" started displaying on dashboard and speed was decreasing and I couldn't speed up. I pulled over to the shoulder and turned off the car and turned it back on and signs were gone. I drove home fine. I went to dealership and they stated nothing IS wrong with the car.
I had purchased brand new accord hybrid 2015 in december 2015 and in january 2018 car battery IS drained fully due to unknown reason. last night , in -5F temperature my car broke on the road and I have seen worst in my life due to car issue on the road. I would appreciate , if you look into the quality of battery issue being placed in car from honda and various dealers as it sounds sketchy to me. even if I drove 45K miles battery should last longer on newer car compare older cars. I would appreciate , if you can look into it more closely.
TL* the contact owns a 2015 honda accord hybrid. While driving between 25-30 mph, the accelerator pedal was depressed, but failed to respond. The contact also stated that there was an abnormal grinding sound coming from the front of the vehicle and then the vehicle stalled. The contact was unable to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to honda superstore of lisle (4475 lincoln ave, lisle, il 60532, (630) 852-7200) to be diagnosed, but the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure or retrieve a fault code. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and did not assist. The approximate failure mileage was 20,000.
I have had 3 of 4 tires fail (blow out) with less than 20,000 miles on the car. the firs was less than 10,000, second I believe around 14,000 then the third at 19,000. vehicle was in motion.
Vehicle stalled while driving on a highway with power system failure warning. I could not accelerate the car. I had to take the exit since I was luckily in the right lane and close to the exit. Car was running on battery only at around 30 mph. I pulled out in the parking lot, turned off power and turned back on and was able to reach home. I took the car to the dealer, they could not diagnose the issue right away and asked me to leave the cardie to drivability issue. They called us back after 2 days and told us that they updated the software. I do not feel safe driving this car. Please take necessary action immediately.
Due to honda using soy based wiring, rodents chewed through the wiring in our engine area and in the underside of our hood area. Required repair of over $3000 at folsom lake honda. Honda knows this IS a problem... Why no recall? They should pay for repairs. They are selling rodent proof tape at dealer or suggest putting dryer sheets in our engine area??!,, I believe class action suit has begun in california. We would like to be involved.
