hvac system in car blew up. car turned into flames.
When using my HondaLink app, the connection to the vehicle often fails to establish. It reports unknown errors and fails to execute any command, such as unlocking the doors, starting the climate control to preheat the cabin, or starting, monitoring, or stopping the charging cycle. It is so frustrating that I often just give up and walk to the car to physically execute the command the HondaLink app failed to send. Further, the vehicle information is often out of sync, reporting the wrong state of charge, the time it would take to complete a charge cycle, and other details. If I cannot rely on the information the app provides, I feel unsafe. Is the tire pressure correct? Is the app reporting the correct reading of the TPM, or some outdated data? Is the state of charge accurate, or will I be left stranded because of the app's miscalculation? This issue has not been verified by a dealership, and I have not submitted a report to the manufacturer. I used HondaLink on previous Honda vehicles I owned (this is my 7th Honda vehicle), but this is the first time the HondaLink app has misbehaved in such a glaringly obvious way.
My car will flash “brake system failure” and “one pedal driving” at least every two days. It’s very hard to stop the car when this message pops up. It’ll roll pretty fast, in order to stop it I have to slam on the brake pedal and push it to the floor. Turning it off restarts the system but it’s not a fix. the car has gone to Honda but they can’t recreate the issue. As of this moment, it’s a month old with 1,000 miles, and the car we transport our family in. Having brake failure this early is very concerning
I purchased a new Honda EV earlier this month, but after several weeks, the HondaLink App is still not working properly. I have contacted both OnStar and North Honda multiple times. Both have said they completed the required work, but the issue remains unresolved. I also have to follow up every few days instead of receiving proactive updates. HondaLink is very important for EV owners, including vehicle status, location, remote charging, remote climate control, and EV programs such as National Grid home-charging incentives. At this point, I still do not know when this issue will be resolved. If I had known about this issue before purchasing the vehicle, I believe it would have been treated as a priority and resolved much faster. Unfortunately, the current after-sales service has not met the level of service I experienced during the sales process. I am very disappointed and would appreciate a clear status update and a specific timeline for resolution.
Backing out of parking space when reverse auto braking suddenly deployed with an extremely harsh jolt wirh a whiplash effect. A person was in the distance approx 40 feet behind not close enough to deploy.
The backup camera is useless at night. I think maybe it’s a defective camera but Honda says it’s fine.
On August 23, 2026, I was backing my 2026 Honda Prologue Touring out of a parking space at a Costco parking lot in Cedar Park. I was reversing very slowly, at below walking speed, and repeatedly applying light brake pressure because of interruptions and pedestrian traffic in the lot. While reversing in this manner, the vehicle abruptly and forcefully applied the brakes on its own. The braking was violent enough that I initially believed I had struck an object. There was no vehicle, pedestrian, cart, or obstacle behind me, and no vehicle was crossing behind me from either direction. Conditions were daylight, warm and dry. The electric parking brake did not engage, and no warning message or fault light appeared before, during, or after the event. The vehicle operated normally afterward. An unexpected hard stop while reversing risks injury to occupants and creates a risk of being struck by a following or crossing vehicle. This is one of two uncommanded braking events on this vehicle; I am filing a separate complaint regarding a forward automatic braking event. Mileage at time of incident: approximately 1,600. The vehicle has no open recalls and has not yet been inspected by a dealer.
In approximately early August 2026 (exact date not recorded), while driving my 2026 Honda Prologue Touring at approximately 20–30 mph on a surface street, the vehicle's forward automatic braking system activated without warning and braked hard to a near stop. There was no vehicle, pedestrian, bicyclist, or obstacle in front of me. I was approaching a pedestrian crossing that was empty at the time. Conditions were daylight and warm, dry weather. The deceleration was violent enough that I was thrown forward against the seat belt. My foot was resting lightly on the brake pedal as I approached the crossing, but I did not brake hard — the sudden, forceful braking was initiated by the vehicle, not by me. The vehicle did not come to a complete stop and the electric parking brake did not engage. No warning message or fault light appeared before, during, or after the event, and the vehicle continued to operate normally afterward. This behavior creates a serious risk of a rear-end collision. The vehicle had fewer than 1,000 miles at the time of the incident. It has no open recalls, and the dealer has not yet inspected it.
As soon as the vehicle turns on, the vehicle alerts "service charging system. vehicle may stall". Vehicle has under 5000 miles and is new.
UKNOWN My 11 year old son was sitting in the front passenger seat. He unbuckled the seat belt and twisted to get out of the car. He found he was twisted in the seat belt with the retractor locked. First, I moved the car from the sloped driveway to the flat garage in an attempt to remove the effect of gravity on the retractor. Then, I tried to feed the seat belt back into the retractor but the retractor remained lock. We reclined the seat, raised the seat and I tried to yank the belt 4 times to override the retractor but I was not able to loosen it. I eventually cut the seatbelt to remove my son.
While approaching traffic light at approx 4-5 mph the vehicle slammed to a dead stop with a car length between us and the next vehicle. This was not the auto stop feature and it automatically engaged the parking brake while moving causing whiplash To myself and 2 additional passengers. Causing neck and back injuries. The vehicle was coming to a stop with the assistance of the one pedal drive braking at approximately 5 mph and suddenly while slowing down with more than adequate distance it slammed to a dead stop violently and unexpectedly throwing my passengers and I against our seatbelts causing injuries. Several other occasions the vehicle has had phantom emergency braking with no obstacles, vehicles or pedestrians near it but at slower speeds and did not cause as much trauma. This event was significant and all 3 parties myself included are experiencing pain related to the event.
After charging the vehicle. We reversed out of the parking stall. The vehicle braked really hard with no warning as if we hit something, but there was nothing for us to hit in the parking lot. The braking was so hard my body jerked! This is the second time the emergency braking engaged sudden. The first time a vehicle was near and the warning light did indicate vehicle but not close enough for the braking system to engage. It could have caused the vehicle to hit me from the rear if it was closer.
There is a serious issue with the adaptive cruise control braking when nothing is in the driving path of the vehicle. This issue happens a both slow and fast speeds creating a dangerous driving condition for myself and those around me. It happens almost daily when I use it. For instance, if I set the cruise to 25MPH and the road turns it will slow down for vehicles parked in driveways, and while going straight it will alert me to brake for parked on the left or right. While going faster like 45MPH, it has hard braked many times for vehicles outside my lane or on the side of the road. This creates a situation where people have to avoid me and is probably unexpected and scary for them and a concern of being rear ended. I have driven several vehicles with adaptive cruise control and this has been much worse than the similar issues I’ve experienced in them as well. This issue is happening consistently and on well marked roads when conditions are right where there are vehicles around stopped or in turn lanes or driving through neighborhoods for vehicles in driveways.
A clicking noise began today from the front suspension area while driving at slow speeds with a slight turn of steering wheel or minor road imperfections. At about 750 miles on the odometer. A separate but louder intermittent clunk is also coming from the front wheel area while using the one pedal driving/regenerative braking autohold function. This occurs when the vehicle comes to a complete stop or starting from a stop. This noise has been occurring since about 200 miles on the odometer. The vehicle was purchased new less than one month ago.
