The Auto Hold and EPB orange warning lights emerged while commuting to work, which are associated with the brakes. The problem was diagnosed by the dealer because the other car we own is also an Ioniq and we have had two different Auto Hold problems noted with that automobile (NHTSA tracking numbers 11761449 and 11761458), therefore we sadly have experience detailing this defect. There were no issues with the car prior to the Auto Hold/EPB warning lights appearing. The vehicle has been inspected by the dealership and the part has been replaced.

The Auto Hold and EPB orange warning lights have emerged for the second time on this vehicle after fixing an initial Auto Hold/EPB problem at mileage ~88-89K (tracking number assigned by NHTSA for this issue was 11761449). The mechanic stated this feature can malfunction in the error mode leading to unprompted braking in a previous conversation. After taking it into the dealership for review, it was revealed that a different wheel's braking machinery was compromised and needed to now be replaced making it the second repair of the same part on first the left rear now the right rear wheels. The first occurrence of the second warning light emerged ~94K. Of note, we purchased another Ioniq and have just experienced the same issue for the second times in that vehicle at mileage ~31K and ~34K, so it appears to be a common defect in this automobile.

The Auto Hold and EPB orange warning lights have been a recurring problem with our 2022 Hyundai Ioniq. We first noticed the car exhibit a jerky/jolting hesitation after accelerating from a complete stop which was reported to the dealership with confirmed paperwork at ~52K miles. The Auto Hold and EPB orange warning lights have been documented via photographs and video on been active at mileage ~58K and 72K, but the dealership could not reproduce (or scan the codes?) the warning light signature or jerking motion. Additionally, the car indicated that is was trying to either activate or deactivate the Auto Hold function even when the car was in motion and is never turned utilized by any driver of the vehicle. Even though this problem was described as hazardous and may cause the brakes to lock leading to an accident. Finally at ~88K miles the dealership was capable of properly diagnosing the problem and replaced the left rear caliper with CPB motor.

The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds and while passing a nearby vehicle on the left lane or while a street sign was nearby on the right side, the vehicle would independently apply the brakes without the brake pedal being depressed. No warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed; however, the failure was not identified. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 300.

The Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) on my 2022 Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid has a recurring safety defect. The EPB warning light continues to come on and off intermittently even after EPB components were replaced. Diagnostic Trouble Codes C2416 and C2417 have been detected multiple times. This issue first occurred at around 10,000 miles, while the vehicle was still under factory warranty. At that time, the dealer only performed a cleaning procedure, which did not resolve the problem. Over the years, I returned to the dealer multiple times, but they refused to perform repairs unless the warning light was present during diagnosis. Frequently, the light turned off before inspection, leaving the defect unresolved. At approximately 87,000 miles, the dealer finally replaced EPB components at my expense (out-of-warranty repair). However, even after this replacement, the EPB warning light has continued to reappear, proving that the underlying safety defect was never fixed. This is a serious and ongoing safety concern. The EPB is a critical braking system component, and its failure could prevent the vehicle from safely parking or holding on a slope. Because this problem began during the warranty period, was never properly resolved, and persists even after paid repair and part replacement, I believe this represents a manufacturing defect that requires investigation and potential recall.

The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle with the Smart Cruise Control activated, the EPB (Electronic Parking Brake) warning light activated. Additionally, while stopped, the EPB erroneously deactivated, causing the vehicle to drive forward, and the driver had to manually depress the brake pedal to stop the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle almost struck a pedestrian during the failure. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The contact stated that on another occasion, while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle suddenly lost automotive power and was towed to the local dealer who diagnosed that the transmission was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The failure mileage was 40,000.

On December 2nd 2024, I was driving my lovely 2022 Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid to home. All of a sudden, my car started shaking and popped out the engine sign light and other lights on the dashboard. Car moved straight up to about a distance of 50 meters and stopped on the rod side. This incident happened on the residential street not on the Highway. I could have been killed if this incident had happened on the Highway. I feel I’m lucky and blessed because I’m alive today. But car is still in Hyundai car dealership under repair. Hopefully my car repair cost will get covered under manufacture warranty. Hopefully, the whole measures for the engine defects or improvements team of Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid manufacturing engineers may be taken relook or recall so that thousands if not millions of drivers driving Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid may be in safe in the near future. EPB and auto hold lights come on intermittently with no user input or obvious reason. This does not occur every time that the vehicle is driven and does not have an obvious cause nor pattern. When issue appears, it may sometimes but not always be resolved by parking, then restarting the vehicle. After the issue begins, there is an audible beep and an alert/warning flashes for less than a second within the instrument cluster. The audible beep and screen flashing occurs rapidly and repeatedly after appearing. This appears to be the same issue as NHTSA ID 11617668 Per my own research, other owners of this vehicle have had the same issue, as noted in this forum thread: [XXX] Additionally, the solution according to other owners of this vehicle is listed in Hyundai's TSB 23-BR-001H (listed in NHTSA ID 10235346 from April 7 2023 as MC-10235346-0001), which is listed at [XXX] . This TSB's document does include the 2022 Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid, though the NHTSA listing erroneously lists only the 2019-2021 models as being affected. Since first check up in 2022, I mentioned to garage that I have to push on button every time I need to use it as opposed to pressing on it and removing it when desired. However, not the main issue. I get in the car, Auto Hold (which usually appears when I press the button) will suddenly pop on my screen but won't work. The break won't hold, it's just there. It scares me that it has something to do with the breaks themselves in the long run. I've spoken about it twice before and the garage stated that they couldn't see it so couldn't do anything about it. The issue popped on my dashboard one day and I drove straight to the dealership. They said they had no loaner and would call me. This was more than a month ago. I'm tired of trying to get them to address the issue and hoping that I'm not the only one having it.

The EPB light appeared on the dash panel of the car on 7/13/2023, along with the EPB light, the cruise control, the auto hold function, and the electric parking brake stopped functioning. The light will disappear on a restart and reappear after a period of time. It is indeterministic when the light will reappear on the dashboard. I have tried to contact the nearest dealer in an attempt to get the car inspected for safety reasons, however, the dealer was unavailable and Hyundai national customer service was unable to help. Hyundai's national customer service representative was also being deceptive as they transferred me to a dealer that is 425 miles away from the location I told them while giving me the impression that they were transferring me to a local dealer. The car was eventually inspected by two different Hyundai dealers. The first dealer informed me that there was a short on the wire which caused the error. However, due to the fact I was moving at the time, I could not wait for them to fix the car at that moment. They stated the vehicle was safe to drive and that I could bring the car to the new dealer once I moved to the new location. When I brought the car to the new dealer, instead of the wiring error, they stated that the radar of the car had failed. Since then, they have performed repairs on the car and the error has not yet occurred. This is a significant concern of safety due to various reasons. First, the electric parking brake is an important component of the car, as in the event of a break failure, the electric parking brake is the only backup to ensure the car can be stopped before any catastrophic event. Furthermore, according to the dealer, the actual component that has failed is the radar. However, I do not recall, at any moment, the car has warned me that the radar has failed. This could cause any reasonable person to assume the radar is functioning properly and believe that the forward collision-avoidance assist is still active with no

Shortly after purchasing my Ioniq (roughly 2 months into ownership) my dashboard started beeping with warning signs for my EPB and auto-hold brake. I panicked and parked my car and tried to turn off the functions because I thought I had accidentally turned them on but they wouldn’t turn off. This would continue at random for roughly 7 more months until it would stay on for weeks at a time. I was told there was nothing the dealership could do about it and was asked about my oil changes. I get my oil changes within the intervals set for the vehicle and it does not seem to affect if the lights come on or off. They beep constantly and also the EPB and Auto-hold features do not work when the light comes on, the fail. It’s a safety risk as when I do try to engage them they don’t work and makes me fearful that they will short and work at random times which is a huge concern.

Check engine light will turn off if ACC is turned of entirely. Problem will persist as long as car is on. Once turned off and restarted it will stay off for a while and then come back on. Stays off longer when car has an overnight break but other times it will happen as soon as it's turned on. Cruise control will not work when this issue appears. Picture shows milage but that was May 31st 2023, not the 1st time back in November, 2022. It happened the 1st time after a drive from Lancaster, CA to Pheonix, AZ on the return (about half way)

I didn't notice. I rear ended the vehicle a white newer body style town and country mini van set up with a rear wheel chair ramp like the Braun style vans. My right front of bumper close to the emblem on the hood contacted the left rear bumper of the van. I'd say the whole left side of emblem over to edge of vehicle. No airbag deployment. But the forward collision warning didn't go off and the AEB SYSTEM also did not engage. The system seems to be functioning properly. There is no warning lights on the dash. And the system has activated before, both the forward collision warning and the AEB. The following day while turning around on a dead ened street, the forward collision warning engaged the chime whenni got close to another vehicle. The system has engage early before, the dealer checked for codes a long time ago after complaining about early.or false engagements. The vehicle is stated to be inspected by hyundai this week. The current mileage is 49,000. The vehicle has never been in an accident before this. It is going in to check the electronic parking brake system as we have had faults in the auto hold system where it faults and stops working and a light does come on the dash, but doesn't store codes and resets when you cycle the key off and back on. It's been scheduled to go in before the accident. This system is in place to help stop forward collisions with pedestrians, vehicles and other objects. It failed. It could have injured someone or killed them. I also have dashcam video of the incident if this gets for enough for an investigation, I can email it.

On 12/25/21 less than 2 months after purchase, amber color warning lights came on dashboard saying "AUTO HOLD" and "EPB" light up on dash and a chime noise would sound when flashing message lit up. Since warning lights weren't red I understood the feature wasn't working, that it was safe to drive, but the chime was annoying when it came on about once a week. On 8/8/22 I took the car to Selma Hyundai and paid $168 to diagnose the intermittent flashing AUTO HOLD/EPB amber light alerts. They checked functions and said if persisted they would have to replace the left hand parking brake motor. On 9/8/22 I took the car again to Selma Hyundai as the problem persisted, After another diagnosis, they ordered a left rear caliper due to an open circuit. On 10/3/22 after waiting weeks for the ordered part to arrive, Selma Hyundai replaced the left rear brake caliper. On 12/20/22 I returned to Selma Hyundai for another diagnosis as the AUTO HOLD/EPB lights were again frequently alerting on the dashboard. Hyundai factory advised them to order and replace the left rear brake wiring harness. On 1/26/23 after waiting over a month for the part, Hyundai installed the new left rear wiring harness. I was now warned that the mechanic was now seeing codes from the right rear and if the alerts persist, they would have to order the right rear wiring harness. On 2/3/23 Friday evening, I was leaving my apartment with my mother to make a Costco run. Turned the car on and the AUTO HOLD/EPB lights were on and the emergency brake was flashing RED quickly on my dashboard. I turned the car off and back on with the same result. I tried to back out of my parking stall and could feel the car trying to roll back but the parking brake would not release. I tried to roll forward a bit and the parking brake would not release to let me roll. 2/6/23 Monday morning and Selma Hyundai told me to have car towed to them and they would order the right rear brake wiring harness. No wiring harness yet.

I was in an accident on October 7, 2022. There was almost $5,000 in damage. Repairs were made, but several repairs were left unattended and I am put at risk of safety. The Seat Tracking was out of alignment and could not be verified by mechanic, although it was verified by the body shop. The Forward Collison Warning light comes on intermittently, as do other gauge lights, after the accident.

The front sensor light is showing it isn’t working and there is a regular reminder that the sensors don't work, but i just had it serviced and the dealership thought the update would correct it, but the alert came on again and the MyHyundai app shows everything is on order, so it doesn’t even connect theres a problem.

The regenerative brakes had an error go off, which caused the brakes to stop working properly. This error went off twice, once in my driveway upon starting my car, then it reset itself. And again while driving, in which I nearly rear ended the car in front of me due to the brakes not working. Hyundai confirmed the error codes but could not reproduce. Hyundai eventually replaced components of the brakes, but I do not trust that it won't happen again. I wanted out of my lease but they refused and made me drive it again, even though I'm terrified of it happening again.
