Owner notification letters were mailed starting September 7, 2023. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 246.
A rear seatbelt recall notification was made in September of 2025. I made multiple follow up phone calls with Hyundai in regards to this recall as I have a child that sits in the rear seat. Every time I called, I was informed the part(s) were not in. It has now been over a year with no remedy in sight. It does not seem like there is any desire to fix this recall and it will remain outstanding for the entirety of the vehicle.
Hyundai palisade calligraphy 2024 at 14k miles I heard clunking, thumping, knocking noise at low speed The problem from bad Rear Self-Leveling Shocks and Upper Shock Mounts & Isolators and im not the only one has that problem i got 2 more family members with the same issue And hyundai doesn't not fix the problem and make recall
I had recall 283 and 292 completed at Hyundai Autonation Savannah on Abercorn 10-19-26. There are pieces broken and screws of some kind left on the floor. Additionally, the clip was broken on the underseat airbag I believe it is from my research. I have concerns about the safety of the seat and the assembly of the components. I fear that if the seat moves forward, could that cause injury to my child in the seat. Could the seatbelt not work properly? I have reached out repeatedly to have an inspection done and received no assistance. I can’t pay out of pocket right now for an inspection of the vehicle seats and safety belts. I have photo documentation of my concerns. The cosmetic aspect of it can be handled via emails and me reaching out to corporate but the safety of the seats must be addressed. I don’t know if you can help me or not. Thank you for your time.
I have been have tweekering / unusaual action in my steering wheel. Feels like something IS goning to snap. High rattling inrear of car, which in very nosie. Also the smell of gas comes thru the vents often. I have a 2024 hyundai palaside
I came to a complete stop at the stop sign and waited for several vehicles to pass on the street I needed to turn onto. I proceed to turn right but the vehicle stalled mid turn. The motor rev'd as I pressed the gas and made weird noises like the truck was stuck in neutral although it was in drive. The tires would not spin to propel me forward. I was stuck in the middle of the street. I shut the truck down for about a minute while flagging others to go around me then started the truck up again. The issue cleared. This has happened several times. Other times, the dashboard display completely blacked out and the drivemode button (eco vs sport vs comfort) changed on it's own and I was not able to manually change settings or get the dashboard to reappear or get the truck to move forward when placed in drive gear. I had to power cycle the truck to get it to work. Very unsafe to be stranded in the road. Dealership reported no trouble found, issue cannot be replicated. I also have suspension issues and reported power loss while driving. Please investigate.
I am reporting a serious potential braking-system safety defect involving my 2024 Hyundai Palisade Night AWD. I experienced steering-wheel vibration when braking and an incident in which the brakes were extremely difficult to apply effectively, leaving me unable to stop in an emergency as needed. This created a serious risk of a collision and injury to me, my passengers, and others on the road. I am concerned that the vehicle’s braking system may not perform reliably when rapid or emergency stopping is required. My vehicle was serviced at Morrie’s 394 Hyundai in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. Following an extended period of recall-related service beginning March 20, 2026, the vehicle was marked ready on July 3, 2026, under Repair Order #[XXX]. I subsequently brought the vehicle back on July 6, 2026, under Repair Order #[XXX], reporting rattling and grinding associated with driving and braking. The dealership documented resurfacing all four brake rotors. I am concerned that the steering-wheel vibration and serious difficulty stopping may indicate a braking problem that requires further investigation. The July service documentation references a “Vehicle Health Report With Video” and a completed vehicle health report. However, on October 16, 2026, the dealership verbally told me that no vehicle health diagnostic video was conducted on July 6 and that the only video was from March 23. The available portal screenshot identifies a video dated March 23, 2026. I am requesting review of the service records and clarification of what inspections and testing were actually performed. The exact mechanical cause of the braking symptoms is UNKNOWN to me. Although the dealership resurfaced all four rotors, I do not have documentation establishing the root cause of the symptoms or confirming that the braking concern was fully resolved. I request that NHTSA investigate whether this may represent a safety defect affecting the 2024 Hyundai Palisade or other similarly equipped vehicles INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF
Subject: Formal Safety Complaint and Request for Investigation – Hyundai Recall 283, Unsecured Infant Car Seat Following Recall Repair I am requesting that NHTSA investigate a serious child passenger safety incident following Hyundai Seat Belt Recall 283 performed on my 2024 Hyundai Palisade at Earnhardt Hyundai San Tan in [XXX], on XXX During the recall repair by the dealership, my infant granddaughter's rear-facing car seat was left completely unsecured. Its securing strap had been removed by the dealership from the car seat itself, with one end still attached to the vehicle's lower anchor and the remainder left underneath the seat. The car seat was returned to its normal position without any warning or notification. I unknowingly transported my granddaughter in this potentially life-threatening condition before discovering it on XXX. I am attaching my formal complaint emailed to dealership General Manager [XXX] and Service Director [XXX] on XXX, at 8:52 p.m. This email contains the full description, chronology, supporting evidence, and specific safety concerns. I also reported the incident to Hyundai USA by telephone on XXX (Case #XXX) and through Hyundai Motor America's online complaint system (Case #XXX). I request that NHTSA investigate the dealership's recall procedures, Hyundai's child restraint safety warnings, and whether similar failures could endanger other children. Please review my attached complaint and provide written acknowledgment and an NHTSA complaint reference number. The contact owns a 2024 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer to be repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number 26V034000 (Air Bags) and 25V607000 (Seat Belts). The vehicle was repaired with film. The other recall parts were on back order. Following the repair, the contact became aware that the view through the third-row windows were distorted, and it was difficult to see clearly. The dealer informed the contact that the issue was self-corrected. The passenger became nauseated due to the distortion. The manufacturer was contacted from the website and by phone and referred the contact back to the dealer for assistance. The manufacturer opened a claim and stated that the film could be removed or reapplied. The dealer advised the contact that the film could be removed. The failure mileage was approximately 25,500.
Suspension and driveability issues. Seat belt safety recall not completed after several attempts. 1. SUSPENSION: Suspension noises (popping, clunking, creaking, etc). Difficulty controlling vehicle on the freeway; it sways and I wrestle with wheel to drive and keep in lane despite having multiple lane and driver assist features. AWD equipped however rear suspension loses power and struggles to drive on uneven surfaces. Vehicle is unstable, rocks from side to side while turning and feels like it will flip over. Purchased new tires and had wheel alignment and balancing done but have to keep getting wheel alignment for pulling and non-centered steering wheel. Ride is not smooth, feels bumpy and bouncy. Steering wheel, seat, and pedals still vibrate and shake after new tire service. New tires have abnormal and premature wear. Complained about issues to dealership with suspension and driveability and they told me it was normal to have noises and they could not duplicate so wait until it gets worse. Diagnostic fees are required but they waived the first fee. Months passed and even after new tire install with balancing and alignment the issues got worse. They again said it was normal and the suspension had to settle after new tires but issues have persisted again for months and have worsened. So after multiple alignments and complaints of other issues (ie. Bluelink, paint, remote start, ABS system), I escalated again within service and sales and they now say there is a recall on suspension. 2. SEAT BELTS: I have scheduled multiple service appointments for the seat belt recall. Parts were ordered but then upon return for service, the dealership said the parts were placed on another vehicle as first come first serve so they ordered parts for me again but then they say the parts were used by someone else again. This keeps happening. Now they say the design still has an issue so waiting on new design and parts. I have had nothing but problems with this truck since purchase.
I am reporting a problem obtaining the remedy for an open safety recall on my 2024 Hyundai Palisade Limited (Hyundai Recall 283 / NHTSA 25V-607). I first contacted Johnson Hyundai of Wake Forest, NC, regarding this recall in October 2025. At that time, the dealership did not have the necessary remedy available. I contacted the dealership again in January 2026 and was placed on a waiting list for the recall repair. As of October 6, 2026, I am number 123 out of approximately 390 customers on the dealership’s waiting list. I have been told that Hyundai is sending only a very limited number of replacement parts to dealerships and that customers may wait seven months or longer before being notified that their parts are available. This recall involves seat-belt buckle assemblies that may fail to latch properly, creating a potential increased risk of injury in a crash. My concern is not that the dealership is refusing to perform the recall. My concern is that the manufacturer is not supplying sufficient replacement parts for the dealership to perform the safety recall within a reasonable timeframe. Hyundai’s recall information indicated a planned final remedy owner notification date of June 30, 2026. It is now October 2026, and I still do not have a repair appointment or a reliable timeframe for obtaining the required parts. I rely on this vehicle to transport two young children, including a child with special needs, so simply stopping use of the vehicle indefinitely is not a practical option for my family. I am requesting that NHTSA review Hyundai’s implementation of this recall, including the availability and allocation of replacement parts and the length of time affected owners are waiting for the safety recall remedy. I would also like NHTSA to review whether Hyundai is providing sufficient information and an appropriate interim solution for owners who must continue using their vehicles while waiting for the recall repair.
Vehicle developed a check engine light and underwent warranty repair, during which all six fuel injectors were replaced (Repair Order #1HWS5031079, dated 7/8/2026, 33,768 miles). Despite this repair, the check engine light returned, and the vehicle subsequently developed an intermittent hard-start and no-start condition — in some instances the engine would not start on the first attempt and required a second attempt. The vehicle was returned to the dealership for a second repair visit (Repair Order #1HCS55031999, dated 7/28/2026, 34,090 miles), during which the dealership considered multiple possible causes, including a sensor issue and fuel-related concerns, before completing the repair. The vehicle was out of service for a cumulative total of approximately 22 days across both repair visits. An intermittent no-start condition raises reliability and safety concerns, particularly in situations requiring predictable vehicle operation.
Car has been shaking & rattling when hitting a pothole and not allowing my car to stop the brakes become very hard to press down on causing my car to move more into the street. I have small children and it is a big safety issues.
The panoramic roof glass on my 2024 Hyundai Palisade shattered unexpectedly while the vehicle was stationary or just beginning to move. I did not observe any object striking the vehicle, nor was the vehicle involved in a collision. The glass continued to fall into the passenger compartment, creating a potential safety hazard for occupants. The vehicle can still be operated; however, dust, water, and other debris can enter the vehicle through the damaged roof. There were no warning signs, unusual noises, cracks, or other symptoms prior to the failure. The incident occurred on September 9, 2026, at approximately 37,900 miles. I have scheduled a dealership inspection for this week, and a case has already been opened with Hyundai Customer Care. The dealer's inspection is currently pending.
My car makes a clunking noise in the rear (rear differential) while starting/ stopping at slow speeds or turning a corner. No warning lights but it seems to be worse. Dealership has replaced shock absorber assembly and said it corrected it. It did not. I have called the dealership again for them to tell me my car needed a system update.
When stopping on uneven ground ,or steeper down hill the breaks fail to stop. They don’t “catch “ to stop. In separate issue is the “emergency steering” alert flashes on dash randomly and takes over when there is no need to anything out of the normal happening, only happen in very short time maybe under a minute but it shouldn’t come on at all when it does happen
I purchased this 2024 Hyundai Palisade new, delivered XXX. Beginning XXX, at only 3,954 miles, I began experiencing a recurring defect in which the front windshield wipers freeze, stick, or stop moving mid-stroke while the vehicle is being actively driven. This is most dangerous during heavy/pouring rain, when losing wiper function eliminates my ability to see the road ahead. I have brought the vehicle to Freehold Hyundai ([XXX] [XXX]) eight separate times for this same defect: - XXX (3,954 mi): reported, dealer could not verify, no action - XXX (8,620 mi): reported, dealer could not verify, no action - XXX (9,335 mi): reported, dealer could not verify, no action - XXX (15,748 mi): reported, dealer checked wipers, reported "operating normal" - XXX (48,329 mi): both front wipers not operating normally, windshield linkage flagged as cause - XXX (48,901 mi): wiper arm found bent; arm and linkage replaced - XXX (53,512 mi): noise from wipers, factory wipers recommended - XXX (55,843 mi): wiper arm moving slow and stopping mid-stroke; technician found high electrical resistance in the wiper motor cond internal/electrical failure, but the defect continues to occur. I have video documentation of the wipers freezing while driving in the rain. This is an ongoing, unresolved safety hazard. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The vehicle brakes malfunctioned while driving over bumpy pavement in a parking lot. There was a loss of ability to stop the vehicle, the breaks seemed locked or ineffective. This cause me to come close to rear ending the vehicle in front of me. My foot was pushed FIRMLY on the break and the vehicle seemed to continue to lurch forward. The collision warning alarm was sounding and the brake pedal was vibrating.
The vehicle's OEM wiring harness caught fire during standard operation. We had just started our drive connected to a trailer and break controller that functioned flawlessly for a year with a different vehicle prior to this incident. The trailer is a 2025 and the brake controller was new at the time of purchasing the trailer in February 2025. the only thing that prevented further damage was my husband calling to say something was smoking and I needed to stop the car. I was driving to pickup my husband and children from the campground bath house to drive home. Yes, it is available for inspection. The safety of myself and any passengers was put at risk due to the electrical fire and all extenuating risks associated with that. The problem has not been reproduced by the manufacturer that I am aware of. The tech at the dealership verbally confirmed that the part in question was the cause of the fire and that the new (post repair) part did not have a secure 7way plug attachment to the break controller which was also brand new since the original was damaged during the incident. The components have been inspected by the dealership. There were no lights prior to the failure and there were no lights after the failure until the new temporary harness was installed in Slade KY prior to receiving and installing the new (same) OEM part once we returned home.
The contact owns a 2024 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that on two separate occasions while driving at various speeds, the brakes independently activated. The vehicle was stopped, shifted into drive, and then park. The vehicle then shifted into drive(D) another time and the vehicle operated normally. The contact stated that there were no driving features activated during the failures. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000.
Windshield accumulated a lot of pitting in a certain area while driving within the first 27,000 miles. Noticed this after washing wind shield of bugs. One pit expanded to a 1/2 inch crack when turning into the driveway, just off the drivers side lower edge. It later expanded to the edge and and half way across the windshield.
I own a 2024 Hyundai Palisade that is subject to Recall Campaign 283 involving defective seat belt buckle assemblies. Before learning of the recall, the driver's seat belt unexpectedly unlatched while I was driving. This has happened multiple times. The seat belt appeared to be properly fastened before driving but released while the vehicle was in motion. There were no warning lights or messages before the failures. This creates a serious safety hazard because the driver is no longer properly restrained while the vehicle is moving, significantly increasing the risk of injury or death in the event of a sudden stop or crash. After receiving the recall notice, I took the vehicle to an authorized Hyundai dealership in February 2026. The dealership confirmed the recall but said replacement parts were unavailable and that I would be contacted when they arrived. As of August 2026, the repair still has not been completed. When I called for an update, I was told I am "far down on the list" and that it will still be a long time before parts are available. I contacted Hyundai Customer Care to explain that my vehicle has already experienced the recalled defect. Hyundai did not provide a repair timeline, expedite the repair, or offer any interim solution. Instead, they advised me to continue driving the vehicle and to pull on the seat belt after buckling it to ensure it was latched. The recalled seat belt buckle remains installed and is available for inspection. Hyundai has acknowledged this safety defect through a recall, but despite waiting more than six months, I have been unable to obtain the required repair for a defect that has already occurred multiple times while I was driving.
While driving the vehicle, the accelerator pedal was pressed but the vehicle failed to respond and did not accelerate, it simply rolled slowly as the engine continued to idle. The driver increased throttle input in an attempt to get the vehicle to accelerate. The vehicle continued to show no response to the additional throttle. After a delay, the vehicle suddenly resumed normal operation while the higher throttle input was still applied. This resulted in an abrupt and undesired surge of power. While this was occurring, another vehicle was rolling forward in preparation for a left turn. The other driver appeared confused by the Palisade’s lack of acceleration (apparently believing it was yielding) and had not yet turned into the path of the Palisade. The sudden surge of power created a near-miss situation. This incident involved a delayed response to throttle input followed by a sudden surge of power under increased throttle when the vehicle resumed normal operation. The behavior created a safety risk by causing another driver to misjudge the vehicle’s intentions and by producing unexpected lack of acceleration followed by acceleration at a critical moment. This is consistent with ongoing intermittent throttle and power-response issues that have previously been reported to the selling dealer on multiple occasions.
This vehicle has two open safety recalls that the manufacturer has been unable to repair. Recall 25V607000 (manufacturer campaign 283, seat belt buckles, front row and second row outer) was issued in September 2025. The dealer has attempted the repair since March 2026 and cannot complete it because the buckle assembly is on back order. On a June 2026 repair order the dealer listed the part as "Unrealized" and performed no work. The same repair order also listed recall 26V034000 (manufacturer campaign 292, third row FMVSS 226 ejection mitigation), and that repair was not performed either. The repair order was left in pre-invoice status with no labor or parts, and the odometer moved one mile between check-in and check-out. As of August 2026 both recalls still show Recall Incomplete on the NHTSA VIN lookup. The seat belt recall has been unrepairable on this vehicle for approximately five months. The manufacturer's national consumer affairs office stated in writing on four separate dates in June and July 2026 that the dealership had confirmed the parts were available and that we only needed to schedule an appointment. We scheduled and attended an appointment on the date they instructed, and the part was not there. We then contacted three separate dealerships independently; none had the seat belt buckle part in stock, and each stated it remains on back order with no availability date. The manufacturer has declined to repurchase the vehicle or otherwise resolve the matter. The vehicle is used to transport young children in the second and third rows. It has been driven very little since March 2026 because the family does not consider it safe to rely on with an unrepaired seat belt recall. No crash or injury has occurred. The concern is that a federally mandated safety remedy has been unavailable for months while the manufacturer represents that it is available.
After the "9C9" emissions recall update the vehicle randomly fails to respond to appropriately throttle input when attempting to accelerate into traffic. The issue is very intermittent - it may occur twice in 10 minutes or drive fine for hours. It has demonstrated both a "bucking" / stuttering / misfire feeling as well as a complete lack of any throttle response. After a few seconds of bucking, the vehicle returns to normal and accelerates smoothly with no change in throttle input. If the throttle failed to respond, pumping the pedal a few times has resumed normal operation. Situation has occurred multiple times since the update and has allowed the vehicle to roll into traffic without the ability to promptly accelerate to speed creating a safety hazard. There are no warning lights, and the dealership is unable to reproduce the issue.
