At first oil change in 2025, reported to dealer loud rear noise (boom) followed by poor bouncy driving afterward that continued. Told they couldn’t get the boom sound to reoccur on test drive. (It had only occurred once for me followed by car’s ride feeling looser and more bouncy after that. No repairs made. On third oil change (approx 25,000 miles) I was informed shocks had totally failed and needed replacing and that this premature failure of the shock absorbers was “common” on Tuscons and other Hyundai models. Other models recalled, but not 2024 Tuscon’s yet. Warranty covered it. But was warned some of these models needed shocks replaced every 20,000 miles of even sooner. After repair, the car’s suspension was more stable, less bounce and sway while driving. A few thousand miles later, heard another “boom” while driving after which the suspension felt bouncy and swayed more. Brought back and again told they couldn’t not the boom sound to reoccur during test drive. Told shocks were ok. At 30,000+ miles, guests riding with me agree car’s ride seems bad, doesn’t hold the road well on turns and every little bump is felt and the car takes several moments to rebound after a bump and stop bouncing. I fear there is a safety issue with the shocks or other parts of my car’s suspension system. On-line reviews/reports and chat rooms confirm other owners of this model of car are experiencing similar issues. Please investigate whether a recall is needed.

I am filing a safety complaint regarding my 2024 Hyundai Tucson N Line Hybrid (VIN: [XXX]), purchased as a Hyundai Certified Pre-Owned vehicle from Balise Hyundai in XXX. Since purchasing the vehicle, I have experienced a persistent grinding noise that continued despite multiple dealership visits. Initially, I was told a pebble lodged in the rotor was causing the noise. Further evaluation by the dealership’s General Manager and Service Manager led to additional investigation and proposed repairs. On XXX, I was informed that a factory-welded nut was not attached to anything on the vehicle’s floor support structure. The dealership advised that the vehicle was unsafe to drive and had to be moved to the collision department for further assessment. On XXX, the Service Manager informed me that the proposed repair would require removal and replacement of the entire floor pan. This raises serious concerns about a potential manufacturing or assembly defect in a structural component of the vehicle. My primary safety concerns include: An apparent factory-related defect involving an unattached welded nut on the floor support structure. The dealership’s determination that the vehicle was unsafe to drive. Potential risks to structural integrity, crashworthiness, and occupant protection. The need for extensive structural repairs on a relatively new vehicle. Whether similar defects may exist in other vehicles of the same make and model. The persistent grinding noise and multiple service visits preceded the discovery of this structural issue. I am concerned that this defect may have safety implications beyond my individual vehicle. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate this condition, determine its potential safety implications, and assess whether similar manufacturing or assembly defects may affect other vehicles. Dealership service records and documentation of the diagnosis are available. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

On Monday, 09/14/2026 at approximately 10:15am Mountain Time Utah State Route 36, North-bound. -- I was driving straight, approximately 60mph on dry road on a sunny day. There was no other traffic on the road either ahead, alongside, or behind me and no oncomming traffic. The Automatic Emergency Braking engaged, the emergency braking indicator flashed on the dashboard and the car slowed way down and then it just stopped engaging and the car rolled freely. I believe that the forward collision warning also sounded. NOTE-- this is not the first time this has happened to me. It has happened at least 3 to 4 times over the past two years since we leased the vehicle. I have asked the dealership service department to look at it, but they state that they can find no indication of any problem and that they have been unable to reproduce the event.

2024 Hyundai Tucson SEL Convenience Hybrid Recall:Hyundai Campaign 290/NHSTA 23V-187 (subsequent Tucson tow harness fire recalls) My vehicle was brought into an authorized Hyundai dealership to address the safety hazard associated with the accessory tow hitch wiring harness recall. The dealership resolved the immediate fire hazard by completely disconnecting and removing the functional trailer wiring harness from my vehicle. My physical repair invoice explicitly states: "repair complete-disconnected the positive connector and removed OEM harness from the vehicle, installing a dust cap." No replacement harness was installed. Because this physical removal occurred, Hyundai's internal corporate warranty system has offically marked the safety recall as "Closed" and completed for my VIN. However, the manufacturer has failed to provide a safe, functional remedy to restore the vehicle's advertised and purchased towing utility. When checking with Hyundai Customer Care, I am told the redesigned waterproof harness (Part #CWF61-AU100) cannot be ordered or allocated to my vehicle because the computer systems views the safety risk as resolved and the recall closed. I called Findlay Hyundai in St. George to see if they had the part number CWF61-AU100, he said he did not but Ontario had some & could get the part in a few days. The manufacturer's remedy is inadequate. By permanently removing a functional utility to satisfy a safety metric, without providing a safe, operating replacement part. Hyundai has effectively disabled the towing capabilities of my vehicle without offering a true remedy. I am requesting that NHSTA compel Hyundai to reopen or provide a distinct parts-allocation path for vehicles that had their wiring harness removed rather than replaced. On XXX we were driving from [XXX] to [XXX]. Going through the [XXX] mountains on [XXX]. At an elevation of about 6,000 ft. temperature was about 85, speed about 55 mph the window in the back seat (behind the driver) imploded with a huge bang (sounded like a bomb went off). Glass was all over the back seat. I thought someone had shot at our car. I was with a retired CHP and he confirmed no bullets or rocks - this window just spontaneously exploded sending glass shards like shrapnel in the car! Besides the noise of the explosion, which could have caused the driver to veer off the road, if anyone had been in the back seat they could have been killed or seriously wounded from the flying shrapnel. In talking with other people, I found out NHTSA has an open engineering analysis (DP23001) investigation regarding this issue. This is very serious and should NOT be allowed to happen. Appears there is defective glass in some Hyundai Tucson's - not sure if the pressure of going over the mountains had anything to do with it or the design of the car but I'm leery of driving this car now! Thank you for your time and hopefully the manufacturer will correct this issue ASAP or before someone dies. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I own a 2024 Hyundai Tucson hybrid SEL with a genuine Hyundai trailer hitch & trailer wiring harness that were installed by a Hyundai dealer. My vehicle was included in Recall P90. As part of the recall, the dealer disconnected & removed the wiring harness because Hyundai did not have an approved replacement available. As a result of the recall, my trailer lights no longer function. I can no longer legally or safely tow my boat trailer because the trailer has no brake lights, turn signals, or running lights. Before the recall, the trailer wiring worked properly. I contacted Hyundai Customer Care & requested an approved replacement wiring solution at no cost. I explained that the recall removed a factory-approved, dealer installed towing function but did not provide a remedy that restores the vehicle's towing capability. Hyundai advised me that no replacement remedy is currently available & would not escalate my concern. I believe this is an unreasonable lack of remedy for a safety recall. The recall has left my vehicle unable to safely perform the towing function for which it was equipped. I am requesting that Hyundai provide an approved replacement trailer wiring solution that fully restores the original towing capability at no cost to owners. No repair date is given for this repair. While driving my 2024 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid at approximately 20-25 mph approaching a red light, a sudden and total loss of brake power-assist occurred. Upon applying the brakes, the pedal became instantly rigid and rock-hard. Despite pumping the pedal multiple times and applying heavy manual foot pressure, the vehicle failed to stop, resulting in a low-speed rear-end collision with a stationary car stopped at the traffic light. No dashboard warning lights or malfunction indicators illuminated during or immediately following the event. After the collision, the vehicle's ignition was turned off and then restarted. Following this power cycle, normal braking functionality temporarily returned. The low-speed impact displaced an ultrasonic sensor in the front bumper. This intermittent electronic brake failure poses a catastrophic safety hazard to pedestrians and occupants if it recurs at higher speeds

My 2024 Hyundai Tucson hybrid has been returned to the dealership on 3/20/26 and 4/10/26 to replace failed rear shocks and are now scheduled for replacement on 4/27/26 under warranty. I was told by Matthews Hyundai dealership that the part may have been defective the first time but after having the shocks fail again it is clearly a defect in design. The bouncing and ride is dangerous. Rear shock failure is a major safety hazard because it severely compromises vehicle stability, drastically reducing control during braking, cornering, and emergency maneuvers. It leads to increased braking distances, excessive rear-end bouncing, poor handling, and accelerated wear on other suspension components, significantly increasing the risk of accidents. I do not want to have an accident due to a faulty part.

Several error lights displayed seconds before the car died. The hazard lights failed within 15 minutes of waiting for a tow truck. The dealership service department charged the battery and gave me advice to run the car at least 30 minutes everyday even if runs only in the garage. They told me that it was user error because I don't need to drive a half hour per day. I am still attempting to determine the real issue and have it addressed.

I am filing a complaint regarding a persistent and disruptive software feature in my leased 2024 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid. The vehicle has an integrated "Red Light Camera Warning" that plays an audible voice alert every time I approach or pass an intersection with a red light camera. Despite numerous attempts through the dealership and Hyundai corporate support, according to Hyundai, the alert is part of their Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) and is considered a safety feature. However, this is not a safety feature, it is a ticket avoidance alert, and the frequent and repetitive alerts create a distraction from safe driving. Key safety concerns: The alert interrupts active phone calls, audio, and music playback at every flagged intersection, regardless of whether I am obeying traffic laws. This forces the driver’s attention away from the road to deal with the disruption or attempt to resume audio. The alert is often triggered in rapid succession when driving through urban areas with multiple camera-monitored intersections, increasing driver stress and reducing focus. Competing manufacturers (Toyota, Honda, Ford, etc.) allow drivers to disable this feature, but Hyundai claims they do not. There is video documentation showing that Hyundai vehicles are capable of disabling this feature via a simple toggle [XXX]. Hyundai’s unwillingness to offer this basic option infringes on the driver’s ability to maintain focus and control over their in-vehicle environment. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate whether this alert poses a safety hazard due to distraction and urge Hyundai to provide an option for owners to permanently disable or mute it. Thank you for your attention to this matter. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
