TL* the contact owns a 2008 infiniti EX35. The contact stated that the dashboard was melting and was causing a glare that was impairing his vision while driving. The contact took the vehicle to infiniti of sarasota 4950 clark rd, sarasota, fl 34233, (941) 924-1211) and inquired if the vehicle was under recall. While driving the car I noticed that every time I hit a bump or dip in the road, it feels like I am going to lose control of the vehicle. the car IS extremely hard to control when hitting a bump on the street or highway and it's scary. I also noticed that the car jerks violently when changing gears in the automatic transmission. I bought the car in may of this year, its under 100K miles. I contacted the dealership and I'm waiting on a response.
Vehicle stalls while driving sometimes at 3/4 full and sometimes at 1/2 tank full of gas and sometimes in between the two making it unpredictable and unsafe.
Takata recall
The passenger airbag light stays on constantly. We had the dealership do a diagnostic on it and came back that the occupant control sensor unit in the passenger seat IS bad and they want 6400.00 to fix it!! Ironically, other 2007-2008 infinity EX35 models were recalled for the same issue, except mine due to my vin! Why were 200,00+ other cars from same year and model recalled but not mine? Even if new part was used, it still has the same error and should be recalled. This IS a safety issue and totally unresponsible of these auto manufacturers to not take responsibility of this!
TL* the contact owns a 2008 infiniti EX35. While operating the vehicle, the steering wheel electronic tilt malfunctioned and the driver was unable to properly re-position the steering wheel. In addition, while turning the steering wheel in either direction, the steering wheel exhibited excessive play. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the steering wheel tilt motor was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The contact was informed that the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 15v054000 (steering). The contact indicated that the vehicle experienced the same failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 68,000.
The engine repeatedly stalls driving at low speeds or while braking. this has happened dozens of times, including while driving through parking lots, braking during rush hour traffic on city streets and freeway off ramps as well as braking on a left turn through a traffic light on a highway, almost causing me to get rear ended multiple times. this problem IS identical to problems that precipitated a recall of other inifiniti models, same model year, however the EX35 was not included in the recall. car has been taken to the dealer who cannot identify the problem.
Front cross member rotted out in 77000 miles. Possible safety concern because the front a-arm bolts to this member. Called infiniti dealer and they said there IS no recall.
Took the car to dealer for fixing the below recall notice. manufacturer recall numberr1501 nhtsa recall number15v-054 however, the dealership IS saying something else in the steering need to be fixed before applying the fix and refusing to do the recall. I believe the part was damaged, because of the faulty steering column component.
TL* the contact owns a 2008 infiniti EX35. While the vehicle was stationary, the steering wheel became detached from the vehicle. The contact was able to re-attach the steering wheel to the steering column temporarily and drove the vehicle to the dealer. Nalley infiniti of marietta, georgia (2020 cobb parkway SE, 30060) stated that the vehicle could not be repaired due to the contact's failure to respond to the notification for nhtsa campaign number: 15v054000 (steering). The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and stated that the vehicle should have been repaired per the recall and confirmed the dealer's statement. The failure mileage was unknown.
Under recall number 15v054000, my initial steering column recall was repaired on 04/06/2015. The repaired failed on 05/08/2017. I experienced excessive play in my steering wheel as a result of a broken steering column while driving on the highway.
Auto stalls at low speed motion either while slowing down or starting to move. stalls out in traffic and almost caused several wrecks on a city street when stalled trying to get through traffic.
While driving, and I'm getting ready to slow down or stop. The car completely shuts off. I have to put it back in neutral quickly in order for it to start. Also while at a complete stop. Once I accelerate, the car just cuts of in the middle of the road! This week alone I've almost had three accidents because of this. My car has been at numerous repair shops. They've all stated the cannot find anything wrong. Once my check engine light comes on. Bring it back. Really?! It cuts off daily, while in motion at least 6-10 times. *tr
TL* the contact owns a 2008 infiniti EX35. While the vehicle was parked, after being driven approximately 45 minutes earlier the contact noticed a burning odor in the cabin. A cloud of smoke also appeared. The contact took the vehicle to two mechanics and the dealer where it was diagnosed that the wiring harness and body control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer stated that due to no recall and warranty expiration, they were unable to provide a repair. The vin was unknown. The approximate failure mileage was 167,214. updated 04/19/17 *lj updated 7/6/18*jb *tr
The occupant classification sensor does not always function properly. even with an adult passenger in the front passenger seat, using the seat belt, the passenger air bag status light occasionally IS illuminated (indicating air bag IS off). this appears to occur randomly. I cannot find a pattern on what causes this to happen. we first noticed it more than 2 years ago, but didn't think much of it until now, with another recall on our QX60.
Various cracks have formed in the leather dashboard. One near the odometer readings extending towards the driver side window. A second to the left of the center dash extending from top to bottom. Contact infiniti consumer affairs because they replaced FX35 dashboards with the same issue. They said they would not replace my vehicle dash. I first noticed the cracks on june 26, 2016. called infiniti on july 1, 2016.
TL* the contact owns a 2008 infiniti EX35. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 15v054000 (steering) however the local nissan dealer refused to perform the repair due to not being compensated to perform the repair. The contact also stated that the nearest infiniti dealer was 118 miles away and it was informed that the towing service would be out of the contacts expense. The manufacturer was notified of issue. Airbag sensor in passenger side seat IS not working , other 2008 EX35 recalled for this, but not mine!!!??? dealer wants 4600 dollars to repair it!!
TL* the contact owned a 2008 infiniti EX35. While driving at approximately 15 mph and turning left, another vehicle failed to stop at a red traffic light and crashed into the front passenger side of the contact's vehicle. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed. The contain sustained an injury, but did not require medical attention. The vehicle was destroyed. While driving, the car cuts off, I have to put the car in park and cut it back on. I was hit from the back due to this because I was in the middle of a intersection when the car cut off with my 11 year old son in the car. Luckily we are okay and the damage was not bad because the other driver was not going fast but what if they were my son and I could have lost our lives due to this, and this has happened on more then one occasion. The dealership don't know whats going on! I am highly frustrated with this issue I just purchased this vehicle on april 30TH 2015.
2008 infiniti EX35. consumer writes in regards to steering column recall notice. *smd the dealer informed the consumer they would not fix the recall issue, because the telescope was frozen and to correct it, would cost$ 900.00. The consumer stated there were no issues with the telescope prior to arriving at the dealer. *jb
Had just paid for parking garage at booth- gate opened and as I began to move forward hit curb with front drivers side wheel- airbag deployed and hit me with stunning force (lacerations on forehead- hand and forehead bleeding - black and blue eyes later). The overall length of curb starting from gate was only 4 feet( I went back and measured later) at the end of curb was a 2 ft high concrete block. there was zero damage to my bumper and obviously had not accelerated since I had less than 4 ft to do so and was pulling out from a stopped position. called infiniti where I got my car- said they had never heard of such a thing- never got any answers and the airbag recall doesn't apply to my vin according to my research. Filed a claim with my insurance as airbag replacement very expensive and it fried my electrical. *tr
I was pulling into my garage traveling at low speeds when the steering wheel pulled out nearly separating from the steering column. ball bearings fell from the steering column and the clock spring cable unraveled. this caused the stability control to kick on and turn the car violently towards the curb. I was able to park the car safely. I contacted the local infiniti dealer, but as I am located overseas in korea, the dealership refused to work on a us spec car. I checked with two other nearby dealerships and both said they refused to work on us spec infinitis. I was forced to order parts online and tow the car to a local repair shop to have the repairs completed.

NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opened these reviews into vehicles including this one.
In a January 28, 2015 letter to NHTSA, Nissan identified a safety defect in the steering column assemblies used in certain model year (MY) 2008 and 2009 Infiniti EX35, Infiniti FX35/45 and Nissan GT-R vehicles equipped with power tilt/telescope steering columns supplied by Fuji Kiko Co., Ltd (NHTSA Recall No. 15V-054, Nissan R1501/R1502).The recall covers a total of 16,973 vehicles, including 15,647 MY 2008 Infiniti EX35 vehicles manufactured from June 29, 2007 (SOP) to April 25, 2008; 1,100 MY 2009 Infiniti FX35/45 vehicles manufactured from October 31, 2007 (SOP) to April 16, 2008; and 226 MY 2009 Nissan GT-R vehicles manufactured from March 14, 2007 (SOP) to April 25, 2008.The affected vehicles may have been manufactured with a steering column outer tube that is out of specification (out of round), which may result in stress at the upper bearing.According to Nissan, in rare instances, the condition caused the bearing retainer to fracture creating excessive play in the steering wheel. In this condition, if excessive axial force is applied to the steering wheel, the column may separate and cause a loss of steering control.Nissan's remedy instructs dealers to replace the steering shaft on the Infiniti EX35 and FX35/45 vehicles and to replace the entire steering column assembly on the Nissan GT-R vehicles.ODI's analysis of complaint and warranty data related to the alleged defect in the subject vehicles identified a total of 5 incidents in which steering column separation appears to have occurred, including one alleging that a crash resulted.Sixteen (16) additional incidents of loose steering were identified in Nissan complaints (1) and warranty claims (15).The 5 separation incidents identified by ODI involved vehicles built from November 7, 2007 to February 5, 2008, including 3 vehicles built from February 2 to February 5, 2008.The 16 incidents of loose steering involved vehicles built from January 19, 2008 to April 3, 2008, including 9 vehicles built from February 1 to February 11, 2008.None of the incidents involved the approximately 1,800 MY 2008 EX35 vehicles that are not included in the recall, which either were not equipped with the Fuji Kiko power adjustable steering columns (the manual adjustable steering columns were made by a different supplier) or were built after April 25, 2008.This investigation is closed based on Nissan's safety recall. The VOQs associated with this investigation are: 10350255 and 10605536.
