Risk
In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.
Remedy
Isuzu will notify owners, instructing them to contact Kidde to get a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in December 2017. Owners may contact Isuzu customer service at 1-866-441-9638 or Walter Kidde customer service at 1-855-262-3540 or they may also visit www.kidde.com and click on "Product Safety Recall" to order replacement fire extinguishers free of charge. Isuzu's number for this recall is V1705. Note: This recall includes fire extinguishers provided as a remedy for previous Isuzu recall 15V778.

Risk
A stuck open accelerator pedal may result in very high vehicle speeds and make it difficult to stop the vehicle, which could cause a crash, serious injury or death.
Remedy
Isuzu will notify owners, and dealers will remove and replace the stopper bolt with a flanged plate, to prevent lateral movement of the throttle, free of charge. The recall began on June 23, 2017. Owners may contact Isuzu customer service at 1-866-441-9638.
Isuzu Technical Center of America, Inc. (Isuzu) is recalling certain 2011-2016 NPR, 2011-2017 NPR-HD, NQR, NRR, 2015-2017 NPR-XD, 2012-2016 Reach, NPR Gas and NPR-HD Gas incomplete trucks. The left rear wheel bearing hub locking bolts may not have been properly tightened during assembly.

Risk
The loose bolts can allow the wheel assembly to move outward from the axle housing, affecting the control of the vehicle and reducing braking performance, thereby increasing a risk of a crash.
Remedy
Isuzu will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the left rear wheel bearing hub locking bolts, tightening them as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on April 19, 2017. Owners may contact Isuzu customer service at 1-866-441-9638.

The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened this investigation on April 19, 2020. ODI was made aware of seven consumer complaints related to model year (MY) 2012-2015 Isuzu N-series gasoline-powered trucks for unintended movement. ODI worked with Isuzu and peer manufacturers to understand the severity, failure mechanism and frequency of the issue. Attached is a report outlining these details, in addition to the investigation's chronology. This investigation is being closed with Isuzu releasing a technical service bulletin (TSB), with owner notification, to resolve the unintended movement issue in MY 2012-2017 vehicles. The closing of this investigation does not constitute a finding by NHTSA that a safety-related defect does not exist. The Agency will continue to monitor the issue and reserves the right to take further action if warranted by new circumstances.Please review the attached closing report for full details.

- 10244941This bulletin provides information with regards to the Isuzu Commercial Vehicle (CV) Service Policies and Procedures Manual (SPPM). The Isuzu CV SPPM (sections 2.15 and 2.16) provides detailed procedures related to vehicle storage up to and beyond 30 days. Performing these required procedures at the specified intervals will properly maintain vehicles until they are retailed. Failure to follow the procedures outlined may result in repairs and additional costs that could have been avoided. We are providing dealers with this brief overview of the recommended procedures as a reminder to maintain older inventory. Failures resulting from improper, or lack of, storage procedures are not covered under the vehicle factory warranty.

- 10225521We have received reports of the front turn signal lenses cracking on Isuzu vehicles. These lenses are cracking from the effects of being washed with alkaline detergents. Alkaline detergents are typically used in industrial settings and are reactive with the paint, metals, and other materials used to make up the exterior components of Isuzu vehicles. Isuzu recommends that only neutral detergents be used when washing Isuzu vehicles. However, if alkaline detergents are used to wash an Isuzu vehicle, it is crucial that all traces of the detergent are rinsed away with water or wiped off as necessary. Allowing alkaline detergent to dry on the turn signal lenses will cause them to crack. Each Isuzu vehicle is originally equipped with an Owner's Manual that includes guidelines for the proper exterior maintenance of the vehicle. The following guidelines are typical of those found in an Isuzu Owner's Manual concerning the use of detergents on a vehicle's exterior.

- 10178754Isuzu diesel engines available in the above affected vehicles meet the california air resource board's (carb) optional idling emissions standard of 30 grams per hour of oxides of nitrogen (nox) with no increase in the emission of other regulated pollutants. As a result these vehicles have been approved as "certified clean idle" and are "exempt" from the engine shutdown system (ess) requiremnet pursuant ot section 1956.8 of title 13, california code of regulations. As required by the ess regulation, for "certificed clean idle" vehicles, isuzu has introduced a tamper resistance "certified clean idle" label located on the driver's side door panel. It IS important that this label remain, permanently, on the vehicle to identify it as "certified clean idle." carb requires this label as evidence that, at hte time of manufacture, the engine installed met the applicable emission standards. Should the label be found missing or damged during an inspection, a citation and penalties may be issued. If the vehicle IS operated in california with a damaged or missing clean idle label, isuzu recommends vehicle operators follow the 5 minute ess requirement by manually turning off the engine. Following this ess requiremnet will keep the vehicle operation compliant until a replacement label can be installed. "Clean air idle" labels are printed with a serial number and registered to an individual vin. As a result, a replacemnet label will also include a new serial number which must be registered to the vehicle's vin by the manufacturer. The below information IS provided to assit in acquiring, replacing and registering a replacement label.

If a customer's complaint leads to the discovery of contaminated fuel, the source of the contamination must be found and repaired. Contaminated fuel may result in many different failures. Some examples of these failures are: plugged fuel filters, poor engine performace, check engine light illumination, fuel system (lines and tank) corrosion (rust), etc... Isuzu's failure investigations have found a common occurance of the fuel filler neck being installed incorrectly. This poor installation will allow unwanted material to enter the fuel tank contaminating the fuel. Use the information below to confirm the fuel filler neck IS installed correctly. If the filler neck installation IS incorrect, use the information below to repair the fuel filler neck.
