A high voltage battery that overheats increases the risk of a fire.
Remedy
Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures, charge outside, and limit their charge to a maximum of 90% until the recall repair is complete. As an interim repair, the battery software will be updated by a dealer, or through an over-the-air (OTA) update to limit the state of charge to 90%. The final remedy is currently under development. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed April 2, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available. Owners may contact Jaguar's customer service at 1-800-452-4827. Jaguar's numbers for this recall are H570, H571, and H572. This recall replaces NHTSA recall numbers 23V369, 23V709, and 24V085. Vehicles repaired under one or more of the previous recalls will need to have the new remedy completed.

Owners may contact Jaguar's customer service at 1 -800-452-4827. Jaguar's number for this recall is H471. These vehicles were previously recalled for this same issue under recall number 23V-369 and will need to have the new remedy performed.
Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Jaguar) is recalling certain 2019-2020 Jaguar I-PACE vehicles. The fasteners that secure the battery module to the busbars may not have been tightened securely, which can cause electrical arcing at the busbars.

Electrical arcing increases the risk of a fire.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect and repair the busbar fasteners and replace any damaged components as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 21, 2024. Owners may contact Jaguar's customer service at 1-800-452-4827. Jaguar's number for this recall is H468.

In the event of a crash, the seat may not properly secure the occupant, increasing their risk of injury.
Remedy

Remedy

Vehicle: 2020 Jaguar I-PACE, purchased new in Washington State Problem: Unresolved high-voltage battery safety recall and prolonged delay in permanent remedy. As of October 2026, they have not given an adequate remedy for a fire hazard defect known for over a year +. I am filing this complaint regarding the extended delay in providing a permanent remedy for the high-voltage battery safety recall affecting my 2020 Jaguar I-PACE. Jaguar has installed an interim software update restricting the vehicle’s charging to 90% and has recommended that the vehicle be charged outdoors because of the battery fire risk. Although these interim precautions have been implemented, I remain concerned about the unresolved battery safety defect and the length of time Jaguar has taken to provide a permanent repair or other definitive remedy. The charging restriction reduces the vehicle’s usable battery capacity, and the recommendation to charge outdoors creates additional inconvenience and concern about safely owning and charging this vehicle. I ask NHTSA to review the length of time this recall has remained without a permanent remedy, the adequacy of the interim measures, and whether Jaguar is providing an effective and timely resolution to affected owners. Please record this complaint as a concern regarding the ongoing safety risk and the delay in providing a permanent recall remedy.

My 2020 Jaguar I-PACE, VIN [XXX], is subject to Safety Recall 26V-067 (JLR H570/H572) for high-voltage battery thermal overload. The interim remedy, a software limit to 90% charge, was installed [XXX] at the nearest dealer, Des Moines, IA, more than 130 miles from my home; the dealer kept the car until April 21 for what the recall letter called a 30-minute update. As of October 7, 2026, NHTSA's VIN lookup shows the recall open on this vehicle with "remedy not yet available," eight months after the February 5, 2026 filing. The vehicle has its original battery pack and every prior recall completed. The park-outside instruction is not practical where I live, and the 90% limit leaves about 160 miles of range, so the car cannot reach the dealer without a charging stop. I asked Jaguar Land Rover North America for a repurchase on April 20 and July 10, 2026. On April 23 they refused a review as "outside of the manufacturer warranty period." That was wrong: I bought the car from Jaguar Des Moines on [XXX] as a Jaguar Approved Certified Pre-Owned vehicle, and Jaguar's own CPO delivery checklist lists the CPO warranty expiration as [XXX]. The 8-year/100,000-mile battery warranty runs to [XXX]. The July request got no reply. JLR's Part 573 report for 26V-067 states that for the 2019 model year with the same defect, JLR decided on [XXX] to reacquire the vehicles because "battery pack supply is heavily constrained." The 2020 vehicles carry the same at-risk cells, and no remedy has been offered. I am reporting this vehicle as one for which the manufacturer has not provided a remedy in a timely manner. My 2020 Jaguar I-PACE is subject to NHTSA Safety Recall 26V-067, Jaguar campaign H572, concerning the risk of high-voltage battery thermal overload, smoke, and fire. The recall was reported on February 5, 2026. As of September 23, 2026, NHTSA continues to list my vehicle as “Recall Incomplete, remedy not yet available,” and Jaguar states that the permanent remedy remains under development. I have complied with the interim safety precautions, including the dealer implemented restriction on maximum battery charge. These restrictions reduce the usable range and normal utility of the vehicle, yet after more than seven months there is still no permanent repair available or definite date for one. I am concerned that I am continuing to operate and own a vehicle for which the manufacturer acknowledges a potential battery thermal-overload/fire risk while no permanent remedy is available. I am requesting that NHTSA review whether Jaguar Land Rover is providing a timely and effective remedy for Recall 26V-067 and the length of time owners are being required to operate their vehicles under interim safety restrictions.

It seems that Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) told the US Department of Transportation (USDOT), as late as February 5, 2026 that, regarding manufacturer recall number H570/1/2, a "vehicle thermal overload condition such as fire or smoke can result in increased risk of occupant injury and/or injury to persons outside the vehicle..." exists in the iPace, which caused JLR to tell the USDOT that "in the interest of timely resolution for...customers, … that the permanent remedy for the defect in these vehicles would be to reacquire the vehicles,”....a plan of which JLR told the USDOT it would notify owners of on April 3, 2026. As of today, I have yet to receive JLR’s independent notification that my iPace was not safe to charge indoors (which I have done for the duration of my ownership of the vehicle, until I learned of the recall on or about August 20, 2026 through my independent internet search for iPace recall.) I have yet to have been offered a reacquisition of my vehicle, yet I can, now only charge up to 176 miles or 80% and I can no longer park overnight in my garage while charging. It appears JLR was aware of this defect as early as the year 2020, but concealed this in the internet advertisement for the vehicle and the sales paperwork that I was provided to purchase the vehicle on April 28, 2021, facts which, if communicated, would have resulted in my not having purchased an iPace. I stumbled upon this information after the “traction battery fault” indicator illuminating in mid-August 2026, when my Jaguar service advisor told me there “was a recall on the car that they cannot fix.” JLRs handling of the recall with respect to reacquiring affected vehicles is not as it discussed with the USDOT. JLR has not reacquired all H570/1/2, cars. As a retired DOT OIG agent, I question whether JLR made material omissions or misreps' about the iPace’s battery defects or about Jaguar’s intent to reacquire the 2,278 iPaces, to the USDOT to preclude crim' or reg' investigation.

Main batter has a recall for fire hazed which Jaguar is not fixing. Car gave a battery warning while driving but luckily, I was able to get home before it completely failed. Dealer will not fix the main battery which is the cause of the issue but want me to pay $4000 for a air conditioning issue they say caused electrical failure yet the battery is known to be faulty.

I am filing this complaint regarding my 2020 Jaguar I-PACE and recall H572 involving the high-voltage battery pack. My vehicle has approximately 90,000 miles. I received information regarding recall H572, which involves a potential thermal issue with the high-voltage battery pack that can create a safety risk. I am concerned about the safety and reliability of the vehicle because of the battery issue and the potential for a high-voltage battery failure or thermal event. I have relied on this vehicle for transportation, and the recall has significantly affected my confidence in the vehicle and its safety. I have contacted Jaguar Land Rover regarding this issue and have attempted to have the matter resolved. I believe NHTSA should be aware of my experience because this involves a high-voltage EV battery and a potential fire/thermal safety concern. I am requesting that NHTSA document this complaint and review whether Jaguar Land Rover's handling of this recall adequately addresses the safety risk to owners of affected I-PACE vehicles. The contact was informed that the battery was limited to 75 percent charge. The contact was informed that a diagnostic test for the illuminated warning light was not provided because the warning light was no longer illuminated. The contact was informed that the failure was not associated with the recall repair. The contact was advised that additional diagnostic testing was needed and would be an out-of-pocket expense. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V067000 (Electrical System), and the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer. The dealer confirmed that the high voltage fault warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was asked to pay for the diagnostic test and declined. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure by phone. The contact had filed two complaints. The failure mileage was approximately 35,856.

I own a 2020 Jaguar I-PACE with approximately 102,000 miles that is currently at a Jaguar dealership following a sudden failure to accept Level 2 charging in mid-June 2026 and has been there since. The vehicle initially showed fault code P0AA6-00, and the dealership subsequently replaced the 12V battery and charging module (440123457); after communication with the vehicle's systems was restored, they reported that 31 of the 36 modules in the high-voltage battery were failed or failing and that the entire battery requires replacement. My concern is that this may be related to the H570/H572 high-voltage battery recalls. My vehicle had not yet received the recall-related charging limitation software, and it had previously experienced a significant battery/electrical issue in June 2025 involving Restricted Performance, an isolation fault, and BECM reconfiguration/software that apparently resolved the issue at that time. The dealership is now attributing the 2026 failure to normal age-related battery degradation, but I find it difficult to reconcile that explanation with 31 of 36 modules reportedly failing simultaneously, particularly given the vehicle's prior isolation fault and the current recall's stated concerns involving internal battery faults, short circuits, and thermal overload. The dealership has told me they did not perform a thorough investigation specifically to determine whether the current battery failure is related to H570/H572, yet they have concluded that it is unrelated. I am requesting that NHTSA review this situation because I am concerned that a potentially serious high-voltage battery defect covered by the recall may have caused or contributed to this failure. In the meantime, they have quoted me $50,000 to perform a full HV battery replacement, as a potential option/resolution.

This vehicle is subject to NHTSA Recall 26V067 (JLR campaign H570/H571/H572) for high-voltage battery thermal overload risk. The recall remedy instructs owners to park and charge the vehicle outside and away from structures. My property does not allow for this: the vehicle must be garaged in a bay directly beneath an occupied room, adjacent to two other vehicles, and near the home's main electrical panel and gas furnace. There is no alternative outdoor charging location on my property. I am currently unable to comply with the manufacturer's own safety instruction for this recall, which leaves me either storing a known fire-risk vehicle against manufacturer guidance or unable to use the vehicle at all. The permanent remedy for this recall population is still under development as of this filing. I have submitted a written demand to JLR for repurchase and have received no substantive response as of August 4, 2026.

The battery warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who was made aware of the post-repair failure; however, it was neither diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 77,000.

I am writing to formally request that Jaguar Land Rover North America repurchase my 2020 I-PACE. The vehicle has two unrepaired safety recalls for high-voltage battery thermal overload, including one for which no final remedy is yet available, and it is currently inoperable due to a recurring drive-motor fault that the servicing dealer's own technician has documented as pre-existing. I believe these issues are interrelated and originate in the vehicle's high-voltage electrical system. Confirmed recall status (per NHTSA VIN lookup): - [XXX] / NHTSA 26V-067 — Recall Incomplete. NHTSA's summary states that since installation of the protective software, field evidence shows a risk of thermal overload remains in vehicles with battery packs manufactured through the end of the 2021 model year, which includes this vehicle. - H572 / NHTSA 26V-067 — Recall Incomplete, remedy not yet available. Both recalls concern thermal overload in the high-voltage traction battery that may present as smoke or fire, with risk of occupant injury, injury to others, and property damage. Owners are advised to limit charging and park away from structures. Vehicle history and current status: - On XXX, the vehicle was towed to the dealer because it was dead and would not start. - The dealer's technician comments on RO XXX state that fault code P0A40-00 (Drive Motor "A" Position Sensor Circuit Range/Performance) "originally occurred prior to any work being performed" at 90,585 km on 31-May-2026, 15:42:35 UTC, "and keeps returning." This places the drive-motor fault at the time the vehicle arrived inoperable, before any service work, and identifies it as recurring. - The technician replaced the 12V start-up battery (which had failed testing and would not hold charge) and cleared faults. After this, the vehicle displayed a flashing "D," would not drive, and would not shift to Park. NHTSA received a petition on or about July 18, 2022, requesting that Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 141 be applied to all electric and hybrid vehicles operating in the United States. The petition can be reviewed at NHTSA.gov under ODI Number 11486072. FMVSS 141 establishes performance requirements for pedestrian alert sounds for motor vehicles. The standard applies to hybrid and electric vehicles that have a gross vehicle weight rating of 4,536 KG or less or are defined as low-speed vehicles. The standard became fully applicable to all such vehicles manufactured on or after March 1, 2021.On January 27, 2023, NHTSA opened Defect Petition (DP) 22-005 to evaluate the subject matter described in the petition. On June 24, 2023 and as supplemented on June 25, 2023, the petitioner notified NHTSA he was withdrawing his petition. The petitioner indicated that, based on his review of data, there is no justification for asserting potential benefits that could be derived from actions sought by my petition. Based on the petitioner's withdrawal, DP22-005 is closed. Closure of this DP does not represent a determination by NHTSA regarding the subject matter of the petition.
