ISubject: Urgent Safety Complaint – Delayed Recall Repair, 2019 Lincoln MKT, Driver-Side B-Pillar Trim Applique To Whom It May Concern: I am submitting this complaint regarding the prolonged failure to obtain a recall repair for my 2019 Lincoln MKT through Bill Knight Lincoln in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The circumstances surrounding this recall have gone well beyond what I consider a reasonable timeframe and have resulted in a serious safety incident, ongoing inconvenience, and concerns about additional damage to my vehicle. In December 2025, I received notification that my vehicle was subject to a recall involving the B-pillar trim appliques located behind the front doors on both sides of the vehicle. More than ten months later, approaching eleven months, Bill Knight Lincoln continues to tell me that the necessary replacement parts are unavailable. Unfortunately, this is not simply a matter of waiting for a repair. While driving on an Oklahoma turnpike, the driver-side B-pillar trim applique broke loose from my vehicle, slammed into my rear window, and shattered it. Nearly all of the broken trim, with the exception of the small portion still attached to the electrical wiring, flew backward into oncoming traffic and toward other vehicles. This created an extremely dangerous situation for me and potentially for other motorists. The incident could have resulted in a serious collision or injury. What makes the dealership's continued explanation particularly troubling is that I independently called Bill Knight Lincoln and inquired about purchasing the same replacement part as an ordinary retail customer. During that call, I was told the part was available, and I was quoted a price. This directly conflicts with the repeated statements I have received when attempting to have my recalled vehicle repaired. I believe this discrepancy warrants investigation and a clear explanation.

Rear toe-link failure, and part is available. The failure occurred while I was driving, about 20 mph, heard a loud noise from the back of the vehicle. The vehicle swerved a bit but managed to regain control and come to a complete stop. Was not diagnosed by the dealership, but have determined, through TSB lookup, that this component has been a failure point across various Ford models including the MKT. No sensor warnings on the dashboard or messages, but was hearing intermittent clunking noises coming from rear of vehicle for about 2 weeks before incident. Usually heard it when rolling over bumps.
