See attached document for complaint. I am the owner of the 2015 MKT that has a recall noted above. The rearview camera went out completely several months ago. Only a black screen would appear then the vehicle was in reverse. I saved money to get the camera into working order. On 09/29/2025 I took the vehicle to Weymouth Truck and Auto, and requested they get the camera into working condition. Weymouth installed a new camera system. I picked up the vehicle on 10/02/2025. The camera is working fine. I paid $949.81 for the new camera system. A copy of the paid invoice is enclosed. In light of the recall notice, I respectfully request a reimbursement of $949.81.

Front Sunroof Exploded while driving. No one was around me nor was it bad weather. I had glass flying everywhere off the car and down the side which could have caused the paint to be scratched and or if someone would have been around me, they would have been hit with flying glass. My entire drive home the glass was falling into the liner and down the side of the car. The car has been sitting at the dealership undriveable. You could hear it crackling even after sitting in the garage for a period of time. The glass was dropping down on the liner and could have shattered all over the interior and the passengers had the liner not been closed. It could have also caused you to crash as it sounds like someone shot out a window when it happens. I was able to pull over alongside the road and asses the damages after calming down a bit. The same day I took my car down there someone else in a ford edge had a cracked sunroof There were no prior warnings on the car to let me know of a problem and there was nothing around me at the time it exploded. the car is in perfect condition and taken care of very well. It only has 33,000 miles on it and is always garaged. I have read many articles with those experiencing the same thing with the same car and same window. I also found several posts of suits filed against Ford / Lincoln for this very same issue. The dealership did research it and agreed it is a known problem, but a recall never issued. They did contact Lincoln on my behalf, and they have denied the claim. I have seen many articles where this has happened within the first couple months to a couple years out, but it is always the front sunroof. there is clearly a design problem with the car, and it needs to be addressed. This is a situation where a crash could have been caused, or someone seriously injured inside the car because of a defective design in the sunroof of Lincoln's MKT

TL* the contact owns a 2015 lincoln MKT. The contact stated that the toe link fractured while travelling at 45 mph. the contact believes that the failure may have been due to nhtsa campaign number: 20v072000 (suspension). the driver lost control of the vehicle as the rear was fishtailing across a three lane highway late at night without any traffic. no injuries were sustained. the vehicle went right as a result of the back fishtailing to the left. The contact was then able to stop the vehicle and then pull over off the main highway. The vehicle was towed to the dealer maplecrest ford lincoln of union (2800 springfield ave suite 1, vauxhall, nj 07088 (908) 964-7700) and they confirmed that it was the toe link that fractured. they repaired both toe links and charged the contact for the repairs even though the vin was included in nhtsa campaign number: 20v072000 (suspension). The dealer said the contact would be reimbursed when they said it became a 'full blown' recall. The manufacturer had not been contacted yet except for the initial tow to the dealer. The failure mileage was 187,500.

We believe the moonroof shattered while sitting in our garage. I left with the vehicle and had not noticed anything until my daughter asked where the cold air hitting her face was coming from as we started down the road. I pushed the button for the interior panel to open, and as it began opening we saw shattered glass everywhere. Nothing fell on this at all. The glass appears to have buckled and shattered. This IS a manufacturer defect that lincoln needs to address.

I drove in my driveway. Shifted to park and turned off the ignition, popped the trunk release. Exited the car and saw the trunk lid was down. Got the remote out of my pocket and pressed it to open trunk . Trunk still didn't open. Went back to driver's door, opened it and the alarm system and lights went off, and my car started rolling backwards and knocked me down and ran over me!

2015 lincoln MKT has had two forward sunroofs shatter since I purchased the vehicle in july of 2017. the first occurred when a stone kicked from a truck tire struck it. but the second incident occurred with no such traffic around my vehicle. the glass shattered as I heard two loud cracks within about 5 seconds of one another. again, I observed no traffic that would likely be the source of a thrown stone, and indeed, observed no objects inbound to strike my vehicle. the nature of the second sun roof's break leads me to believe there IS a severe defect in the replacement sun roof (presumably sourced from ford/lincoln, given it's expense and the time required to acquire it).

All of a sudden the fixed panoramic roof (forward panel) shattered caused a loud bang. Sounded like a tire blew out! No evidence of a rock or other material striking the panel, no body damage, just the roof panel. Luckily we had the sun shade panel closed so we didn't experience any glass shards falling on us.

While driving on city street, the front section of the moon roof exploded with a loud bang and created a crack in the glass from side to side. On the drive home other cracks developed along the driver side edge. Took it to a dealer the following day and was told to "call your insurance company!". On the way home from the dealer the roof shattered. Called ford and was told that they would not cover glass.

- 10251952For 2015-2024 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with turbocharged engines and customer concern of an engine oil leak, refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-00 for oil leak inspection and testing methods. Ford has evaluated turbochargers replaced for oil leak symptoms and although oil may collect on the external surface of a turbocharger, it is extremely rare for a turbocharger assembly to be the root cause of the oil leak. Careful inspection of the turbocharger oil feed and drain tubes should be performed along with the recommended WSM procedures as needed. Warranty claims for turbocharger replacement going forward will be assessed.
- 10251934During service and repair requiring removal and replacement of a crankshaft bolt and/or crankshaft damper, achieving proper torque of the crankshaft pulley bolt is critical. Incorrect torque may allow the bolt to loosen resulting in the timing gear breaking and engine damage. Replacement of the bolt is critical to the repair and accurately following the installation procedure in the Workshop Manual (WSM) Section, 303-01 is extremely important. The bolt torque procedure can be found in the crankshaft front seal removal and installation procedure or in the engine assembly procedure.
- 10235153For 2000-2024 Ford and Lincoln vehicles, swapping a module from a vehicle for diagnosis purposes is likely to cause errors and is not recommended. It is also not recommended to order a replacement module using a vehicle identification number (VIN) from a different vehicle. Most modules on these affected vehicles are VIN/vehicle specific and hardware variations between modules do exist. Swapping a module from a vehicle or ordering a module using a different vehicle/VIN can cause ineffective repairs and additional vehicle down time. Make sure all appropriate Workshop Manual (WSM) procedures are followed when diagnosing the condition prior to all module replacements and only order modules using the correct VIN.
- 10214492Some 2015-2016 vehicles equipped with 6F50/6F55 transmission and built on 2-Nov-2015 and through 1-Feb-2016 may exhibit no reverse, 3rd and 5th gear with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P0715,P0717,P0756 and/or P2701. This may be caused by the direct clutch cylinder/tone wheel (7F283) inadvertently forcing the snap ring out of position resulting in damage to the direct clutch hub (7G384). Service part (7J250) complete rotating 3-5-R clutch module is now available. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 307-01. For claiming, use causal part 7F283 and applicable labor operations in Section 7 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) manual.

- 10201050Some 2015-2021 Ford and Lincoln vehicles may exhibit an illuminated MIL with diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) P0011, P0012, P0014, P0015, P0016, P0017, P0018, P0019, P0021, P0022, P0024 and/or P0025. This may be due to small debris causing the VCT solenoid to stick. Before attempting any component diagnosis or replacement of the VCT solenoid, refer to Powertrain Control and Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) pinpoint test HK12 to cycle the affected VCT solenoid 10 times to attempt to clear the debris. For claiming, use causal part 6M280 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.

This may be due to small debris causing the VCT solenoid to stick. Before attempting any component diagnosis or replacement of the VCT solenoid, refer to Powertrain Control and Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) pinpoint test HK11 to cycle the affected VCT solenoid 10 times to attempt to clear the debris. For claiming, use causal part 6M280 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.
- 10183767Some 2012-2016 vehicles equipped with a touchscreen navigation system and the language set to Arabic may exhibit a blank screen. This may be the result of the ribbon cables not being fully seated inside the front display interface module (FDIM) or an improper software configuration of the FDIM.
- 10180428Some 2009-2020 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with turbochargers may exhibit an oil leak from the turbocharger oil supply or return tubes, O-rings or 6.7L pedestal gasket. Although oil may collect on the turbocharger, it is very rare for a turbocharger to leak oil. To isolate the source of the leak, refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-00 General Information > Diagnosis and Testing > Engine > Engine Oil Leaks - Fluorescent Oil Additive Method procedure. When an oil leak is present at a turbocharger oil supply or drain tube, remove the affected oil tube and inspect for damage, and replace the O-ring seals, pedestal gasket or oil tube as required. Refer to WSM, Section 303-04. For claiming, use the affected oil tube or pedestal gasket as the causal part and applicable labor operations in Sections 6 and 9 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.
- 10177863This article supersedes TSB 19-2026 to update the vehicle model years affected. Some 2000 and newer Ford/Lincoln/Mercury vehicles equipped with aluminum body panels may exhibit corrosion concerns appearing as bubbled and/or peeling paint with or without accompanying white dust. Panel replacement is recommended.
- 10173001In the affected vehicles, it may be possible that certain driving maneuvers can result in an overheated catalytic converter, catalyst degradation, and an illuminated malfunction indicator light (MIL) with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P0420 and/or P0430 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM).
- 10172972SSM 48619 - Various Vehicles - Perimeter Alarm Armed And Original Vehicle Keys Cannot Be Accessed to Enter Vehicle - CAN Protection Strategy Some 2013-2016 Model Year Vehicles may exhibit a concern in which the Perimeter Alarm is active and the original keys cannot be accessed to disable the perimeter alarm. This concern would most often occur when a customer loses keys and the dealership is attempting to program new keys to the vehicle. The Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 419-01A Perimeter Anti-Theft Alarm - System Operation and Component Description has been updated to inform of the Controller Area Network (CAN) Protection Strategy. Follow the procedure outlined to prevent replacement of the Body Control Module (BCM) on CAN Protection Strategy equipped vehicles when original keys are lost and perimeter alarm is active. - 10164508Some 2010-2020 vehicles may exhibit distorted glass with a subtle orange peel pattern or streaking etched into the surface. This is caused by hydrofluoric acid which is used in some car wash solutions as a cleaning agent. Hydrofluoric acid can attack the glass and cause visual distortion and/or discoloration on the outer surface which cannot be removed by further cleaning. If this type of distortion is found, inspect the area of the glass that is covered by the cowl and/or molding. The portion of glass that is covered by the cowl or molding will not be affected by the acid. Hydrofluoric acid damage is not a defect in material or workmanship and is not a warrantable condition.
- 10164497For Ford and Lincoln vehicles that require positive or negative battery terminal replacement, it is not necessary to replace the complete battery cable harness (14300 and 14301) for this concern. Positive battery cable clamp BT4Z-14450-AA and negative battery cable clamp BT4Z-14450-BA are available for this type of repair.
