Shifting out of park while engine not running without the brake being on/stepped on, which resulted in the van rolling in reverse, thankfully it was in the driveway when this happen, was able to put it back into park (thank god).

This IS a addon from the previous one I submitted just now. I want to point out. I was almost killed when I ran out of gas on the highway, because the gas gauge read incorrectly. When the engine become hot, it almost started a fire. I am a single parent with a ten year old. Dealers are still selling these pontiac montana's. We do not know how many deaths it may have already caused. Or how many women and children were stranded, because the gas gauge reads incorrectly, it will say its full but it IS actually empty. The condensers go, which cause a blown head gasket. I cannot afford to replace the motor, and I already put out close to a thousand dollars already. The first month I bought it from a dealer. Every owner has had the same exact problem. Every owner. Here IS one of the websites I did not realize every owner of a pontiac montana all had same problems. Every owner. Here IS one of the websites. Http://forums.edmunds.com/discussion/comment/3340529. You can google pontiac montana complaints and their are hundreds of website complaints on the same exact problem. But GMC refused to recall since the complaints first started. *tr
I did not realize every owner of a pontiac montana all had same problems. Every owner. Here IS one of the websites. Http://forums.edmunds.com/discussion/comment/3340529. The dealer sold me a pontiac montana. The second day I drove it, I ran out the gas because the gas gauge read full, but actually it was empty. I did not realize the gas gauge stops working until every owner had the same problem. Every owner had a condenser problem. Every owner. Which in turn makes the head gasket go. I am a single parent and did not understand that numerous calls to GMC were made and no recalls has been done. It IS shameless, how people like me are struggling and these car dealers made billions with faulty equipment. If you google pontiac complaints. Every owner had the same problem. Every owner. I cant afford to replace a motor because of the head gasket. I am still making payments on this car loan. Isn't their a law that can help victims like us. It should be shameful how GMC has sold pontiac vehicles with so many faulty equipment. I need help. If every single owner had the same condenser, same, heating problem, same gas gauge, same blown head gasket as a result. Pontiac GMC should be forced to pay. *tr
The car would start missing, like there was a short in the electrical and then the car would shut off the and I would have to sit there for 1 to 2 hrs and then it would start and run for a while and shut off again, the last 2 times this happen I had to have a tow truck pick it up and take it to my home where it has sat ever seance 2008. *tr
It has happened several times in the past, but when it rains the wipers do not work or if they do, the stop and start on their own. Now they just won't work if it even sprinkles. *tr
TL* the contact owns a 2000 pontiac montana. The contact stated that the tail lights failed to illuminate. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnosis. The mechanic stated the circuit board wiring would have to be replaced. After the repair, the failure recurred twice. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 96,000. *tr
When I started the car this morning and stepped on the brake pedal, it went all the way to the floor. Upon inspection, there was a puddle of brake fluid on the driveway under the passenger door on the driver's side. I inspected further with a flashlight and mirror, and could see that the fluid was dripping from a bundle of brake lines attached to the chassis, of which one was severely corroded.. *tr
Severe corrosion of brake lines. there IS a short section of the rear brake lines just forward of the rear control arm that rusts out. *tr
TL* the contact owns a 2000 pontiac montana. TL* the contact owns a 2000 pontiac montana. the contact stated that after driving and parking the vehicle for 10 minutes she noticed smoke coming from the dashboard. she tried to put the fire out with water but when she did flames started to come out of the vents. wires were melted and the heating system and the cd player were also destroyed. the fire department responded and put the fire out. the police were not called. the manufacturer had not been contacted at the time of the complaint. the failure and current mileages were approximately 158,171. The vin was unknown.
Windshield cracked and created a dangerous driving condition. It was caused by the rusted roof corners pushing both top corners of windshield glass forward. Water was trapped between windshield glass and roof metal due to the defect design. *Tr
TL* the contact owns a 2000 pontiac montana. The contact started the ignition and the gear selector would not shift into any desired gear. A certified mechanic inspected the vehicle at the failure location. The gear cable was replaced. The vin was unavailable. The failure mileage was 122,000. Updated 11/03/10. *Lj
My 2000 pontiac montana (ext) has been accelerating on its own. I have tried to determine the cause and effect, but nothing stays constant. it may happen when the car IS cold or hot, early morning or late afternoon, etc. I have taken it into a dealership and they cannot reproduce the issue. in addition, they have told me the computer did not register any codes. when the issue happens the idle. I'll put the car into park and watch the rpm move to 3500 and stay there until I turn the car off. once I turn the car off and turn it back on then the issue stops. I have others verify the issue has happened with them or they saw the issue occur (so I'm not crazy). a mechanic at firestone (was able to reproduce the issue) and he thought the issue was related to the transmission. I'm not sure how he came to that conclusion, but they wanted to charge me $3,000 for a new transmission. at this point I think I will get a new car. very disappointing. *Tr
NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opened these reviews into vehicles including this one.
Subject vehicles are available with an optional power sliding door.the interior handle IS oriented in the vertical position in the door panel and lines up at the elbow level when the occupant IS seated in the 2nd-row outboard position.if the occupant holds the interior handle in the thumb up position during power-assisted opening, the arm/wrist can be push back with force against the 2nd-row bucket seat or captain's chair seat back creating a risk of injury (other seating configurations have ample seat to door clearance to avoid entrapment of the lower arm).among the 103 total reports, there were 102 alleged injuries including arm/wrist, thumb and shoulder injuries.a count of injuries reveals that 76 injuries were a fractured or a broken arm/wrist requiring an immobilizing cast for four-to-six weeks.all injuries involve the right side power sliding door.the left side power sliding door IS on far fewer vehicles, but more importantly, it produces less force.gm notified the agency by letter dated december 21, 2004, that it will recall model year 1997 though early 2005 gm u-van vehicles equipped with a right side power sliding door and with 2nd-row bucket seats or captain chairs (nhtsa recall #04v597).as part of the recall remedy, gm will replace the door handle with a flush mounted handle that will prevent an occupant from grasping the handle with the palm between the handle and door panel (thumb up orientation) and thus eliminate the potential for arm/wrist entrapment.this investigation IS closed.
