10245193Two different types of step nose lighting units have been installed during manufacturing. The early units (which are limited available as spare part) are provided with a LED card for the downward light and an optical fiber for the upward light. These units have a small circuit board with a resistor to reduce the 24V power supply to an operating voltage of 3V for the optical fiber (refer also to figure 1). The new units have an optical fiber for both the downward and upward light, and do not have a circuit board to reduce the voltage supply. These lighting units may not be connected directly to a 24V power supply but must be used together with special controllers. Failure to do will cause the immediate irreversible breakdown of the lighting unit due to overvoltage! Please also note that the downward light on new units is less bright. This service bulletin provides you with information on how the new step nose lighting units are connected to the vehicle wiring.
10245018Van Hool regularly receives questions regarding the bolts securing the wheel suspension arms of the front axle and tag axles to the chassis. The purpose of this service information bulletin is to inform and is partly a reminder of what already is mentioned in the maintenance manual.
10233467Service Information: In its production process, Bock, manufacturer of refrigerant compressors, has switched to a new type of motor protection switch for the electric motor of the refrigerant compressor. As the MP10 motor protection switch (VH11472802) is no longer made available as a spare part, as of now you will receive the new INT69G motor protection switch (VH11691810) when ordering. The MP10 and the INT69G are interchangeable, but fastening and electric connection are different.
10219652Product Improvement: ALL VEHICLES WITH LIGHT-ALLOY WHEELS - Introduction of wheel-end monitoring system (WEM). Van Hool has released a wheel-end monitoring system (WEM) which can be installed on all vehicles equipped with light-alloy wheels. The WEM is installed at the outboard side of the wheel and monitors vibrations produced by the wheel bearing. It warns in case of bearing raceway spalling by flashing a red LED on the unit. The WEM is delivered with a magnet which is used to change from "transport" to "standstill" mode.
10210015Service Information: Removal and installation of Shaw DEF tank sensor unit The purpose of this service information bulletin is to inform you about the removal and installation of a Shaw DEF tank sensor unit.
10209998Product Improvement: Introduction of new generation DEF tank sensor unit Some previous manufactured DEF tank sensor units are no longer available as spare part. This service bulletin gives you information about the visual points of difference between the generations and which one to order in case of replacement. Most of the replacements are direct fit, except for the sensor units with an asterisk in the table which must be secured with a split mounting ring consisting of two halves instead of the original closed mounting ring.
10209994Service Information - Introduction of new 4/2 solenoid valve in compressed-air circuit Van Hool has switched over into production to a new type of 4/2 solenoid valve in the compressed-air system. As the previous Knorr-Bremse (Bosch) solenoid valve (VH11102170) is no longer made available as spare part, customers will receive a Wabco solenoid valve (VH660526759) when ordering. Both valves are interchangeable, but some differences must be considered. Consult the information in this service bulletin for a proper installation.

10174983Service Information: he purpose of this service bulletin is to inform you about the innocent traces of lubricant at the bottom of the transmission bell housing on new vehicles. They are caused by the protective anti-corrosion coating at the inside of the bell housing which becomes liquid at transmission operating temperature. This phenomenon is temporarily and no indication that there is a sealing problem! The lubricant can easily be removed with ordinary cleaning product.
10174982Service Information: This bulletin is being released as a reminder of the importance of wheel bearing preventive maintenance. Check the wheel bearing end-play every 50,000 miles*, and when having any work done on the brakes or any other component on the axle end.
10168579Product Improvement. Introduction of new single check valves in cooling-circuits deaeration lines.Van Hool have recently switched over into production a new type of single check valve. Contrary to the previous type equipped with a plastic housing, the new type comprises an aluminium housing. Because of this, they are better suited to resist higher coolant temperatures. As the new type can also be used on previoulsy sold vehicles, only the new type will be available as a spare part. This service bulletin applies to All Van Hool Vehicles.
10162036To remove/install wheel-nut caps. Some vehicles have plastic chrome-coloured wheel-nut caps on top of the wheel nuts. This service bulletin gives instructions on how to remove/install these wheel-nut caps correctly.
10154844Compressed-air brake system functional check. These tests are designed to identify the cause(s) of a sluggish performance and/or leaks in the system. 10154836Improper operating coolant surge tank filler cap. We received a number of complaints regarding frequent coolant loss at the overflow line of the coolant surge tank filler cap. Tests have shown that this is due to the installation of a batch of improper operating filler caps. On these filler caps, the pressure relief valve does not close firmly on the filler neck seat, causing unnecessary coolant loss through the overflow line of the filler cap.
10154835Introduction of new generation DANA G171 Drive Axles. Dana Corporation have changed the wheel end bearing of the G171 drive axle from "unitized" to "compact" bearings. In line with this change associated components such as spindle, hub, hub nut and washer locking system and axle half shafts are also changed. The track of the new drive axle has maintained but the overall length is increased with 0.5 inch.
