One morning started up the engine on my audi, and the engine sounded like it had rough idling, stuttering sound to it. I had took it for a test drive and experienced lack of power, hesitation in engine, rough idling, and then check engine light came on. Checked out the code. It came up to be (p0304) cylinder 4 misfire. I took it to a mechanic, and he replaced spark plugs, coil packs. The problem still existed. He had checked the compression. It was good. Check all wires, senors...ect. Anything he could think of and it all checked out good. Timing belt and water pump was replaced couple months before this problem existed. The problem only exists when the engine IS cold. Once you warm up the engine, restart the car, and it drives perfectly fine! Engine cools down, and rough idling, lack of power and all the comes back again. The mechanic doesn't know what the problem could be.

Parking brake disengaged on 3 occasions: button popped off parking brake handle, as if shot from a gun, and car rolled backward. 1ST instance was prior to august 2012 but no damage because I was still in the car and stopped it. 2ND instance in aug. 2012 car rolled backward into another vehicle in a parking lot, resulting in damage to my rear bumper and extensive damage to other vehicle, which was parked. 3RD instance on 5/11/13, car rolled backward down driveway. I tried to get in the car to stop it, but was not able to stop it until the driver door was caught and ripped past its normal maximum opening, extensively damaged. in aug. 2012 after the 2ND incident, the emergency brake was checked by audi dealer, who said they could glue the button back on but reported nothing wrong with the parking brake apparatus. Rear brakes were replaced as they were worn and dealer said the parking brake engaged the rear brakes and the worn brakes could have caused the failure. Car has received all required maintenance from the same audi dealer. I am sole owner of car. After 5/9/13 incident, dealer refused to acknowledge any known defect, denied responsibility for damage, did not offer any sort of compensation for damage to vehicle(s) or to repair brake. *tr

The instrument cluster on my 2002 audi tt roadster began to fail in august 2007. by the end of the summer, not one number on the panel could be read...it was in complete failure. because of the failure I cannot drive my car at all because I would have no idea of how much gas I had nor would I know at what rate of speed I was traveling. there was a class action lawsuit on this issue which was settled this year and I received notification of it in april 2008...which, at the time of receipt placed my car outside of the six year limitation period...even though the car IS a 2002 and the panel failed last year. I am being told that my car will not be repaired by audi of america unless I pay the $1,300.00 charge to have it fixed. this IS an audi problem and they are trying to turn it into my problem. this IS a very expensive car which IS never driven in the snow and IS a "garage queen". I can't drive it and now, I can't even sell it...who would want to buy it? it IS unsafe to drive and I would not take it onto the highway without the instrument cluster working. I cannot afford to have it repaired, therefore, I have an expensive little car sitting in my garage which cannot even be used. what should I do? *tr updated 06/10/08

The problem can (and has) caused the speedometer to stop working. There IS now 45,00 miles on this car. *tr

- 10216638If the vehicle?s engine experienced a serious mechanical problem, it is possible that small pieces of metal debris resulting from the mechanical problem may have become deposited in the intake manifold, air intake hoses, exhaust manifolds, exhaust down-pipes, turbocharger, supercharger, and/or intercooler. If these pieces are not removed prior to the installation and operation of the replacement engine, the pieces may be drawn into the combustion chamber, which can cause a knocking noise and subsequent serious engine damage.
- 10212703Vehicle lacks power or will not move after stop due to simultaneous depressing of the brake and accelerator pedals
- 10210679This condition may be caused when the brake pedal and the accelerator pedal are depressed simultaneously. Drivers who drive with their left foot resting on the brake pedal are prone to experience this condition. With the introduction of Electronic Power Control (EPC) (no accelerator cable) to fuel injection systems, an engine RPM control feature has been incorporated into the engine electronic control system software. Customer states that the engine returns to idle speed of approximately 1,400 RPM although the accelerator is depressed, and/or the vehicle hesitates (lacks power on take-off).
- 10210650This condition may be caused when the brake pedal and the accelerator pedal are depressed simultaneously. Drivers who consciously or unconsciously drive with their left foot resting on the brake pedal are prone to experience this condition. With the introduction of Electronic Power Control (EPC) (no accelerator cable) to fuel injection systems, an engine RPM control feature has been incorporated into the engine electronic control system software. As a result, application of the brake and accelerator pedals at the same time (brake pedal with left foot and accelerator pedal with right foot) results in the following: ? Brake pedal function (normal at all times) overrides any throttle application. ? Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) will not be stored. ? When the brake pedal is applied while the accelerator is depressed, engine RPMs will return to idle speeds of 1400 RPMs after approximately two seconds. ? When the accelerator is applied while the brake pedal is depressed, the vehicle accelerates slower than usual (reduced engine torque).
