This defect can affect the safe operation of the airbag system. Until this recall is performed, customers should remove all items from their key rings, leaving only the ignition key. The key fob (if applicable), should also be removed from the key ring. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2005-2009 Buick LaCrosse, 2006-2011 Buick…
If the key is not in the run position, the air bags may not deploy if the vehicle is involved in a crash, increasing the risk of injury. Additionally, a key knocked out of the run position will cause loss of engine power, power steering, and power braking, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.
GM will notify owners, and dealers will install two key rings and an insert in the key slot or a cover over the key head on all ignition keys, free of charge. The recall began on September 23, 2014. Owners may contact General Motors customer service at 1-800-521-7300 (Buick), 1-800-458-8006 (Cadillac), and 1-800-222-1020 (Chevrolet). GM's number for this recall is 14299.

Dorman will notify owners and replace the defective steering knuckles free of charge and reimburse the repair facility or owner for labor. the recall began on february 23, 2009. owners may contact dorman's toll-free hotline at 1-800-523-2492 and press 5.
The cable harness in question runs from the fuse box under hood through firewall to the passenger side foot area. At this point it connects to another harness that connects to various items at the rear of the vehicle. One circuit in particular the rear window defogger is burning wiring and socket and plug of the two wiring harness. Either the wiring or connectors burned apart without the circuit fuse blowing. The circuit has a 40amp fuse. The wiring harness for this circuit is 12 Garage. I can't find any manufacturer who recommends using 12 gauge wire on a 40 Amp circuit. This isn't even close to being correct. This is so agreegessly out of specification it would appear GM knew they had an issue with the circuit and fixed it By over fusing the circuit. This same issue on multiple models over several years.
I am having issues with my engine unintentionally turning off because of my ignition key and I sent it to the shop for recall repair but they said they didn’t have the part and couldn’t find it because it’s not available.

Airbag opened while parked in a parking lot. Vehicle as stationary.
While driving vehicle lost of steering happens then comes back. Almost causing accident especially while driving around turns.
Transmission skips gears from a stop to go acceleration. Took my vehicle to a chevrolet ase certified repair facility to have checked. The clutch plate was melted along with some planetary bearings destroyed. The repair bill came to 1,800.00 $. Now the vehicle IS showing signs of a recurring slippage problem only after 2 months since it was repaired and used parts replaced. Why isn't there a recall for this issue? My 2007 chevrolet monte carlo SS less than 72,000 miles on it.

When I attempt to turn off my vehicle, the key will not rotate to the off position..therefore, the key IS stuck in the ignition and the car IS still on, draining the battery. I took the car to a dealership in 2013 and told nothing was wrong with it but they charged me $165.00 to put in a new ignition. the problem was intermittent until december 2014 and now the key IS permanently stuck in the ignition and if I want to drive my car, I have to charge the battery every time I drive it. gm just recalled the cobalt and HHR for the same issue. why not expand the recall to include all gm products with this issue. *tr

Letter from congressman forbes on behalf of constituent re: vehicle recall on 2007 chevrolet monte carlo (mail reply to chesterfield, va office). *smd the consumer stated the dealer told his wife, they knew nothing about a recall.
There have been several issues with the intermediate steering shaft and don't know how much of a safety concern it IS but I feel with the amount of people who have had problems with it that it IS something that needs to be checked into possible recall. I have had to have mine replaced at only 26,000 miles because from my understanding it IS due to a poor design. *tr
When we put the vehicle in park to exit it, the key gets stuck. as a result we have to hit the gear shift a couple of times to remove key. doesn't happen each time but does happen often. *tr
When pressing the accelerator after being stopped at a light, the vehicle jerks and vibrates a couple of times before accelerating. it feels as if the gear IS not shifting properly. it happens often and thrusts us forward quite a few times. *tr
From a stopped point the transmission slips upon acceleration causing the car to make a loud clunking noise and then jerk and bark the tires until the car goes into gear almost causing me to be rear ended each time. *tr
I have learned that when my defrost IS on and I hit a water puddle my power steering goes out for about 30 seconds at a time. I use the defrost to keep my windows from fogging up in the rain. Took me a while to figure out if I turn off the defrost it wouldn't happen. But then my windows fog up! Took it to my chevy dealership and they told me that was normal! I work on cars for a living. That IS dangerous! I'm sure gm knows about this and maybe even some pal have died from this happening? giving what IS going on now with gm can you please make them fix this now please? *tr
