K2 motor IS recalling 1,921 aftermarket headlamps of various models sold for use on the above listed vehicles. these headlamps are missing the amber side reflex reflector which fails to conform with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 108, "lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment."

K2 motor will notify owners and offer a full refund. the recall began on decemeber 17, 2008. owners may contact K2 motor at 1-909-839-2992.

If this occurred at a time when minimum stopping distance was required, a vehicle crash could occur without prior warning.
Remedy
Dealers will replace or repair the 4-wheel/2-wheel drive switch.
The intermediate steering shaft loosens at the steering shaft to steering gear coupling. with this looseness, the yoke pinch bolt can wear on the splines of the shaft until there IS no longer an interference between the splines and the bolt.

This condition can cause body to chassis movement allowing the steering shaft to separate from the steering gear which can result in a loss of steering control.
Remedy
Dealers will retorque the upper and lower bolts to correct specifications.
The engine cooling fan blades break as a result of fatigue and/or vehicle induced stress.

If the blade breakage occurs while the hood IS open, aperson working under the hood or in the vicinity of the vehicle could be struckand injured by the blade segment.
Remedy
Install a newly designed fan assembly.

Nuts used to attach lower control arms, rear spring and shackle, and rear shock absorbers do not meet specifications and could "strip".

Risk
Stripping of the nuts in the rear suspension could reduceclamp load on lower control arm, which could allow the arm to detach, resultingin loss of vehicle control and an accident.
Remedy
Replace lower control arm attachment nuts as well as rear spring and shackle, and rear shock absorber nuts.
Use of improper primer on metal surfaces of windshield and side window openings could cause low adhesion to the metal surface and would not provide retention required by fmvss 212.

Windshield and side window glass would not prevent theejection of vehicle occupants during a vehicle crash, which causes seriousinjuries and fatalities.
Remedy
Remove and reinstall glass using proper primer.

(1) while sitting in heavy traffic at a stop light in the city. I have a habit of not stopping close to vehicles at stop lights. while stopped at the light behind a new looking explorer of some kind my truck lunged forward without warning by itself with my feet on the brakes. if I had stopped closer to the van I would have hit it very hard. I read no one can stand in front of the truck with the motor running because of this. (2) started my truck in my yard. it quickly idle very fast and would not idle down. Put in gear and it took off very fast and brakes locked up. put in neutral and turned off the switch before the vehicle got in the highway still trying to stop with the hard brakes. my truck never did this before. I live in the city where young children play in the street in front of my home. it could have been deadly. why do my truck do these things? I went into the computer looking for answers and found a lot of S10 owners had the same problems. if I had been driving in a curve, on the interstate or just some one crossing the street it would have been a very bad situation. I thank god for letting me be at home and no one was hurt just scared. *tr

While attempting to stop in icy conditions, "antilock brake" and "brake" lights came on as I skidded through an intersection. Since then ABS system IS inoperative (pump doesn't cycle w/ ignition on) tires lock up and skid on icy roads and lights still on!*ak

The antilock brake light IS on all the time, the regular braking abilities are not affected, but the antilocking capabilities are gone. the digital dash guages do not work, the only lighted items that work are the odometer & the speedometer ( no fuel guage, no engine temp, no oil pressure, no tach, no amp meter).

One of three the tires installed experienced severe tread seperation and the vehicle was stopped prior to total failure. Are you currrently looking into other sizes of the atx raidals other than the 15" tires? I had to change out all four tires but have kept the old tires and taken pictures of the seperation.( dot number: vdk6axc tire size: 27x8.50r14 )
