I'm having a problem with I believe it's the fuel sensor my truck gets up to a certain temperature and it just dies and it's not just my truck it's in a lot of the newer model Colorado's as well I have a friend who's having the same exact problem as I am when it gets up past 95 degrees, the truck just all of a sudden stops in the engine turns off, and you have to try and steer your truck without any power steering, the reason I am filing this is if this happens in the middle of the road it could possibly cause an accident and that would be no good and it only happens when it is hot outside in the winter time or when it's cold I have no issues whatsoever

I never received Safety Recall# 06020 Galvanized Defective Tailgate Cables that snap/break due to corrosion inside the cable causing the tailgate to fall down while opened. Both my cables have been torn/broken caused by the rust thru for quit some time. My son told me recently, that he had received the Recall Notice a number of years ago and the Chevy Dealer replaced his cables; his S-10 cables are good/solid no problems. I am meticulous with records and surely would have told the Dealer and had them replaced during the recall period. What should I do as I never received the Recall Notice at issue?

The truck has serious steering issues constant leaks caused I'm sure my rack and pinion are worn down as well as now my tires and supension I have so many problems like the interior IS crumbling to pieces the body has giant holes from improper painting options on this model I have over sized tire wells that are rusted completely out it make your company look silly for not making these vehicles better when they last people keep buying them again and again! Ed bozarth chevrolet located at 2001 s havana st, aurora, co 80014, was contacted and made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was informed of failure. The failure mileage was 330,000.

I was driving on the highway and the vehicle shut down (out of gas) the gas gauge needle read a quarter tank of gas. I contacted the auto center where I purchase the vehicle and I was told the S10 and the GMC model of this vehicle has a history of faulty gas gauge's. My 2001 S10 chevrolet pick up ABS light has been on for ever and the brake shops and the tire store mechanics tell me there are a lot of chevrolet trucks with this problem. The repair estimates I have received range from $1000.00 to $1500.00. after internet research I have found this IS a big problem and it has to do with two solder points in the ABS control circuit board at the ABS head. Some folks take this unit apart and solder these two points and they work/repaired the problem, sometimes not. .IS general motors fixing these problems?? *tr

As I was driving I was approaching a four way stop and applied the brakes any the brake pedal went to the floor. The brakes worked fine for the stop before this one. I tried to pump the brakes and the pedal still went to the floor and the vehicle finally started to slow down, I had to down shift to stop in time. I was able to get the vehicle to a firestone service station down the street. They found one of the main brake line shad corrosion and had rusted through and the brake fluid leaked out as I applied the brakes. I was lucky. I had my 2 year old son in the car at the time. I think my years of driving experience allowed me to avoid a serious collision. there was no warning about the failure of the brake lines. also the mechanic noticed serious rusting of the rear disc backing plates, these will also need replacing. so far the cost IS about $500. For just the brake lines.the truck has under 60,000 miles. I hardly drive it. *tr

General motors IS conducting a special policy program for 903,464 owners of 2000 - 2003 model s/t vehicles through which owners may, at their option, either (1) periodically inspect the tailgate support cables installed in their vehicle and have the cables replaced if the cable coating exhibits any indications of damage or deterioration or (2) request that the tailgate support cables be replaced free of charge. Gm will honor all requests by owners who opt for replacement without question regardless of the condition or appearance of the cables. Gm has agreed to mail reminder notifications to owners every two years until the tailgate support cables have been replaced or until the vehicle IS 12 years old.odi's investigation indicates that a significant majority of the reported complaints (87%) and injuries (94%) have occurred in my 2000 - 2003 s/t vehicles.

Odi IS upgrading rq04-012 and opening an ea to investigate the tailgate support cables installed in 1998 - 2004 model year sonoma and S10 model vehicles.general motors IS conducting recall campaign 04v-129 to replace the tailgate support cables originally installed in certain model year 2000-2004 sierras and silverados and certain model year 2002-2004 avalanches and escalade exts (c/k models).general motors has advised odithat the tailgate support cables installed in the subject vehicles were fabricated using identical or similar sheathing material as the recalled vehicles.however,general motors has advised odi that sonoma and S-10 vehicles differ from c/k models in several ways: the vehicle height IS lower; the tailgate displacement (drop) when not supported by the cables IS smaller and the tailgate comes to rest at a less severe tip angle when not supported by the cables; the tailgate mass IS smaller; and the size, payload, and usage characteristcis are less demanding than c/k model vehicles.gm also stated that sonoma and S-10 warranty claim information indicates a lower claim count and a lower claim rate than recalled c/k models.notwithstanding the above information, odi has received an additional 73 non-injury complaints and 10 injury complaints on the subject vehicles during rq04-012 (since november 2004 to date), which justifies opening an engineering analysis to further investigate this issue.

Odi opened pe02-066 to evaluate the scope and consequence of engine power-loss due to fuel starvation induced by in-tank modular fuel pump strainer restriction.the subject pumps use an external ?sock? Strainer to filter fuel flowing to the pump inlet.this filter can sometimes become clogged, resulting in a reduced flow of fuel to the engine.gm has subsequently modified the strainers to reduce this restriction.analysis of the odi complaint database shows that despite these restrictions, the subject vehicles stall at a rate that IS comparable to those of many peer vehicles.additionally, none of the relevant warranty repair rates exceed 1% at 36 months of exposure.one related crash involves a stalled vehicle that was rear-ended on the roadway, while the remainder involved minor collisions or scrapes.the sole injury consisted of bruising from a low speed frontal crash. Given these circumstances, further expenditure of agency resources IS not justified in this matter.the preliminary evaluation IS therefore closed.the closing of this investigation does not constitute a finding by nhtsa that no safety-related defect exists.the agency will take further action in the future if warranted.
