Takata recall its been over 2 years since the recal has been issued. gm still has not determined a resolution to the problem. they were given until august 2017 to find a resolution. now nearly a year later they have done nothing to resolve the issue and continue to put their consumers lives at risk to save money. this IS beyond unacceptable. the nhtsa needs to finally step up and force them to actually do something to rectify the issue before more people are injured or killed.

I received a notice for the recall for the airbags back in july of 2017, I have asked my dealer today, and as of today, they do not have the parts to repair the defective airbags almost a year and a half later. I would say that the problem has not been repaired in a timely manner. I am afraid to drive the vehicle in fear of injury if deployment of the airbag takes place. I have only put few thousand miles on the vehicle since receiving the recall notice.
"Takata recall" there IS no reason why this has not been remedied yet! By general motors or takata (which IS now going bankrupt!) I feel unsafe driving around a vehicle with defective safety equipment! There IS no solution and I've contacted dealers!
Takata recall: my local gm dealer refuses to acknowledge that they are responsible for repairing my defective airbag. I have contacted them multiple times, and they say they currently have no remedy for the recall. I guess the fact that my airbag warning light IS on IS a pure coincidence, as well. I just received a second notice that takata, the airbag manufacturing company IS now filing chapter 11 bankruptcy. The notice says to immediately contact my car's manufacturer to have the problem remedied. I feel like this will be a lost cause considering they want to charge me $112 to diagnose my vehicle's airbag warning light. Just another example of gm's "impeccable" service. I feel like we're stuck between a rock and a hard place and my family's lives are at stake. We also had an infiniti with the same problem and they promptly and professionally handled the situation. This has not been my experience with gm.
The service stabilitrak light comes on along with the check engine light causing the truck to shut off or not move. This has happened while am on the freeway, city street and stopped at a stop light. I have took my truck in for the same problem more then four times and same issue keeps happening.
When exiting highway coming up to a stop sign or stop light or just braking, the engine shuts off with no warning or sputtering, while still rolling with no warning. this usually happens when pulling a trailer. no power brakes or power steering. The engine has shut off 5 times in the last month and a half and taken to the dealership where I am told every time "can't duplicate so as of now nothing IS wrong with the vehicle. I have had to steer clear of car in front of me several times as to not crash. serious safety issue. told by ed bozarth chevrolet dealership in colorado, that since no code was produced and can't duplicate the issue, nothing they can do. Told the problem IS unknown. I have seen multiple forums where same make and years are having same problem. Here are just a few sites where you can see this IS a safety issue with several GMC makes: http://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/threads/2007-gmc-denali-stalls-after-towing.73312/ https://www.cargurus.com/cars/discussion-t70408_ds604621 stalling-when-rolling-stop.html https://gmcowners.com/gmc-forum/showthread.php?t=24680 http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/cadillac-escalade-ext-esv-forum-2007/278037-2007-escalade-stalling-when-rolling-stop.html I hope that some doesn't have to get injured or die for nhtsa takes this problem serious.
I'm writing this as just like loads of other people are having the same issue. I have both a 07 yukon denali and an 07 silverado 2500 both have the exact same issue. The denali IS the worst. Cracked dashboard. I'm worried that if I was to have an accident and the passenger airbag was to deploy that sharp pierces of the dashboard will go flying towards the people in the vehicle. Gm really should be doing a recall on this as it IS a common issue right through all the vechiles that share the same dashboard. Seems lately every week the cracks get worse. I'm waiting for the day the dashboard falls to pieces. It started around april but since then the dash has fallen to pieces so much since then.
I have received paperwork july 2016 stating that my inflators are defective according to takata. the wording states their defective operation due to degradation could result in "rupture during deployment, causing serious or fatal injuries." on the same notice, gm states they will notify me when parts are available. they also state my vehicle IS "safe to drive". first of all, this IS ridiculous that gm IS allowed to cover themselves by sending out such a contradictory letter. I have followed up in july 2016, october 2016, and now aug. 2017. I am continually told there IS no problem, but there are also no parts available yet for a repair......... now, in an attempt to sell the vehicle, potential customers are looking up the vin, seeing this related information and telling me they can't buy it from me without me repairing it, or they can't pay near my asking price. so..... I have a vehicle my wife doesn't like to drive, I can't fix it because the dealer says there are no parts and they aren't required to do anything yet because nhtsa IS giving them more time, and I can't easily sell the vehicle because it comes up on this listing in a vin search regardless of whether it IS safe to drive or not. absolute garbage treatment of me by both parties.

My headlights just went out when driving. My high beam, and fog lights do work, however. I still have not received my passenger air bag on the recall.
TL* the contact owns a 2007 GMC yukon denali XL. The contact stated that the engine mount on the driver's side of the vehicle became detached. The chrome on the doors was also peeling, which caused the contact to get cuts on the hands. The vehicle was taken to a certified mechanic who diagnosed that the engine mount needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The peeling chrome on the door handles was never repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 230,000.
Seat belt lock buckle will not let seat belt end into it when trying to install belt into it
Dash board cracked by the right passenger side airbag, and then cracked over the back side of the driver side instrument panel. we always use a heat shield in the summer at work, but vehicle stays in the garage when not driven. I have noticed that this seems to be a problem with GMC suv's
NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opened these reviews into vehicles including this one.
The investigated concern involved chrome plating on interior door handles that could peel or separate from the plastic base material. This de-lamination could result in a sharp edge and pose a risk of laceration. In some cases, consumers reported minor hand/skin lacerations.Of these reported injuries, the vast majority of injuries were to adults.Ninety percent of claims associated with interior door handle de-lamination were related to the front doors. In addition to the above Tahoe/Yukon vehicles, other GMT 900 series C/K vehicles (Avalanche, Escalade, Sierra, Silverado, and Suburban) have a trim level that utilizes the chrome plated interior door handles and were included in the analysis. The resultant population group had a total of 746 complaint reports with 309 injury incidents and 43,619 unique VIN regular warranty claims over a combined 451,745 vehicle population. The door handle supplier was changed in September 2006 with new tooling and process in place by October 2006.The base population prior to the September 2006 vendor change accounted for the bulk (or 89%) of all complaints and comparable injury reports and warranty claims.Due to the nature of the failure (thin chrome plating peeling off the door handle), only minor hand/skin laceration injuries similar to a paper cut were recorded. All but a few did not require professional medical treatment such as surgical or liquid sutures (i.e. stitches).Less than 10% of injury reports had specifically involved a 3-10 year old child. This was due to the fact that 90% of the claims were associated with door handles located in the front seating area (where the window glass panels usually have less solar tinting than rear window glass panels) where children are not normally seated. In July 2010, GM issued a Special Coverage Policy (SCP 09239) on the base vehicles to extend the warranty coverage to 10 years/100k miles.Recent data indicate that the base population complaint and injury reporting have subsided since the implementation of the SCP campaign. In June 2011, GM added the remaining interim population (Sep-Oct 2006) to the SCP.A safety-related defect has not been identified at this time and further use of agency resources does not appear to be warranted.Accordingly, this investigation is closed. The closing of this investigation does not constitute a finding by NHTSA that a safety-related defect does not exist. The agency will monitor this issue and reserves the right to take further action if warranted by the circumstances.
