The assist & slip clutch of my HD nearly got me killed the other day. I was turning in an intersection and had shifted into 2ND gear when a car didn't see me and was coming right at me. I accelerated hard while letting the clutch out, and instead of it grabbing, it slipped! So my motorcycle just sat there revving the engine and barely moving because the clutch was slipping! Thank god the oncoming car slammed on its brakes at the last minute and barely missed me. This IS a very dangerous problem with the a&s clutch harley has in my cvo harley.

10222358TECHNICAL TIP BULLETIN TA0016: 2014 and Later Touring Steering Head Bearing Adjustment. PURPOSE: REVISION. Updated: 2014-2019 to 2014 and later Touring vehicles, and VEHICLES AFFECTED. Harley-Davidson motorcycles are designed, manufactured and tested to be operated with both of the riders hands on the handlebar. If you or a customer are experiencing a handling concern, refer to the TROUBLESHOOTING, HANDLING, IRREGULARITIES found in the MAINTAINANCE chapter of the appropriate service manual. The service manual process is not intended to validate factory settings, but rather to be used if a concern is presented. Through extensive testing, Harley-Davidson has developed the service manual specification and adjustment procedure as the optimum steering head bearing adjustment and verification method to achieve the desired handling characteristics across all speeds and conditions. Addressing a perceived feel of low speed wobble, oscillation or free play by adjusting the steering head bearings beyond the service manual specification may have an adverse effect on motorcycle stability.
10195169Harley-Davidson is aware of conditions that may result in a streaking appearance or film residue on the inside of some instrument gauges including speedometer and tachometers. This may occur after exposure of the vehicle to humid conditions. This condition may remain even after the moisture has evaporated.
10195141The purpose of this service bulletin is to communicate updates and corrections to certain 2008-2016 service literature.
10195140This bulletin is to inform dealers of the steps to perform after performing the Touring and Trike Rear Shock absorber callback return. The shipping plug must be transferred from the new shock to the return shock. When oil is allowed to leak during the return process, the call-back issue cannot be properly diagnosed. Installing the plug in the return shock contains the oil in the shock during the shipment to the supplier. This information applies to 2014-2016 Touring and Trike models with rear air shock absorbers.

10162967SERVICE BULLETIN M1492: 2017 - 2019 TOURING - MILWAUKEE EIGHT - INNER PRIMARY VENT. Purpose: Revision. Harley-Davidson has learned that a small percentage of dealers and customers are finding low transmission oil levels and high primary oil levels during normal maintenance intervals. This could indicate that oil is transferring from the transmission case to the primary housing through the transmission mainshaft. A inner primary vent service kit (Part No. 26500027) is now available to address this issue. The kit allows the primary to breath and prevents excessive pressure. All markets are affected.

10155120SERVICE BULLETIN M1359: 2014 - 2016 TOURING - HYDRAULIC CLUTCH LINE REPLACEMENT. PURPOSE: REVISION. A leak may occur on some Touring, CVO Touring, Police Touring and Trike models equipped with hydraulic clutch. The leak may occur when the line is replaced or when a P&A clutch line is installed. Required Dealer Action: Use Snap-on Flare Nut Socket (Part No. GAN85087B) and Snap-on Torque Wrench (Part No. QJR117F or similar) to tighten flare nut. Each time clutch line is installed or torque is adjusted to determine if leak is still present, bleed the clutch system.
10153989TECH ARTICLE TA0016: 2014 and Later Touring Steering Head Bearing Adjustment. Purpose: During recent dealer visits to observe steering head bearing adjustment process, Harley-Davidson staff observed that some dealers are not correctly following the service manual steering head bearing adjustment process. Issue: Steering head bearings on 2014 and later Touring, CVO Touring and Police Touring motorcycles which may not have been adjusted correctly using the service manual procedure at dealerships. Resolution: Never make adjustments by feel. Always follow the process in the appropriate service manual.
10139399TECH ARTICLE TA0023: TA0023: Crankshaft Rod Bearing. Purpose: Technicians have been falsely identifying connecting rod bearings as failed due to a perception of resistance as the rods are rotated. The clearance of the Twin Cam and Milwaukee-Eight crank pin bearings are maintained to a very tight range. This optimizes performance and maintains low mechanical noise in operation. The connecting rod bore can also distort slightly in operation due to stress relaxation. As a result, bearing clearance decreases due to the contact zone broadening and the load being distributed over more rollers. The combination of a bore being slightly out of round and reduced bearing clearance can result in varying degrees of resistance through the range of motion. Axial clearance is also tightly controlled for proper alignment. For these reasons, zones of resistance can be found when the connecting rods are rotated by hand through their range of motion. Resistance during rod motion, by itself, is not an indication of a performance or durability concern.
10125156Service Bulletin M1430B: BOOM! 10124216TECH ARTICLE TA0022: Transmission to Primary Oil Transfer. During service intervals, customers or dealers may find oil level in the primary above the clutch cover opening. This also is accompanied by low transmission oil level. 2014 - 2016 Vehicles:For Twin-Cam models, replace the oil seal (Part No. 12068) and sprocket shaft spacer (Part No. 24009-06). 2017 and Later Vehicles: Check the primary and transmission oil levels and adjust the oil volumes as needed.
